I just made a little video overview of basic gameplay that might be useful to some folks that wanna know more about what the game is about. It's kinda shallow (I only show the woodcutter's hut, a sawmill, a grain farm, grain mill, and bakery to illustrate the kind of infrastructure you wanna build in the game) and ends abruptly but that's because youtube gives me a 10 minute limit and Settlers is a really hard game to describe. I'll do a follow-up showing others aspects of gameplay soon.
In the appstore I read something about a bug that saved games cannot be loaded. Does anybody know if this is already fixed?
yeah, there are some problems with saves, sometimes some of them can not be loaded and game crashes to desktop. and i am on 3gs, not jb.
AgentOrange well it is not big problem, because i can save game in several slots as backups and autosave slot works just fine.
Settlers 4 PC have same awesome music that didn't make it to the iphone conversion! Well here's a way to put the great music into the iphone ( JB only). First download this http://www.mediafire.com/?tymjitummzt then Copy all the files inside this rar to the Snd folder in the settlers folder on your iphone, and replace them with the files currently there.(to be found under /mobile/Applications somewhere). This is Awesome!
The Settlers questions 1. How do you use the Gardener? 2. How to increase your territory for buildable places, (the dots). I'm constantly running into the problem where I want to construct a building but the available places is maxed out. I have a lot of green space (grass I guess) but I can't construct buildings in that spot. Not sure I'm phrasing the question right.
Just noticed the official screenshots feature a little musical sign button right under the zoom slider, but I don't remember seeing that in the game...
I know it contradict to my previous post; now I’m complete addict into the game. After I gave some time, I can handle it quite well, until…. After finish Roman campaigns, I got stuck in Viking mission #1. My problem, 1) There is only one gold ore area, I can only build my army slowly. After I did build some armies, the size of enemies is my double or triple (that’s mean I keep losing). 2) Enemy ship carries many soldiers from north shore, when I build couple battle ship over there, my ship is too big to get out of the shore rocks, WTF, how can they get in then. 3) Their archers are much stronger than my warriors 4) Which warrior is better? Axe or sword warrior? Any strategy/suggestion/tip on this mission Thanks in advance
im having a problem...game wise. trying to build up an army, but then all of a sudden, none of my resources are moving. it's like everyone just stopped working. all the gold and iron are stuck at the mines. nobody is transferring it to the smelters. and none of the iron and gold bricks are making their way to the weaponsmith. and of course since no weapons are being made...no new soldiers are being trained. and it just stopped. already have a nice army going, thought i would just queue the order up so they can keep coming...then now, everything just stopped. i have enough houses and villagers that aren't doing anything. i dont know.
Maybe someone's got too much work on their hands? If all the minerals are stuck at the mines then someone else down the line is probably struggling to cope with all the work and you might need to build another to help. ...and don't forget about the storage areas to stick your minerals in rather than having them queue up outside the mines.
honestly... i would buy this but there is no skirmish mode from what i hear... and we all know Gameloft will never add one, complete turnoff for me
i built a couple of storage areas next the mines and where the smelters and weaponsmiths are. nothing really gets stored in any spot. even fast forwarded time to see if that would help. nope.
