to clarify, i'm the only one complaining about lag. there's very few moments when the camera is dragged around, and a few times when it is, it stutters a bit. the lag definitely came into play when the big battles were introduced. oh wait you said clear as mud. alright then we agree.
I want to play this so bad, it's coming in a close second to Ravensword! But still, the November release date is awesome. Gameloft tends to submit their games a week or so after the trailer, so I'm expecting this end of November!
Great month for Gameloft with Rouge planet, castle frenzy and the settlers! I'll be getting 'em all and ravensword too!
Haha, for me I'm waiting for Settlers and Ravensword, maybe Rogue Planet. They're all good though, I've just never been a fan of games like Knights Onrush, StickWars, and this Castle Frenzy, since they don't require much skill, just mad finger flipping.
While that would be quite nice, this game might turn out quite well as is. As for reliving the past, that's why I bought Settlers II Gold from GOG.com (Good Old Games) a couple of weeks ago. Those classics are still so much fun.
This is THE most excited I've ever been to ANY game release, save for MAYBE Gears of War 2. I've been playing videogames for nearly 20 years now, and I have every single console currently available on the market (including the iPhone, which is almost a gaming console). That should tell you something about how much I anticipate Settlers. I bought the DS version when it first came out and I actually managed to enjoy it, despite it being the most buggy and unfinished game I've ever played in my entire life - those who bought the game know this is not hyperbole. Settlers DS was universally panned by critics and gamers alike, scoring a 4.5 out of 10 on IGN if I remember correctly. Yet I liked it - can you tell I ****ing LOVE this game? Settlers 2 has been one of my three favorite games of all time (the other two being Super Mario World and Command and Conquer), and when I first moved to Canada and didn't have any friends, I played it nonstop for 3 or 4 months, every single day, for many many hours. When I bought my netbook the first thing I did was download Settlers II and install it. I love this game to death and there's no way in hell I'm waiting even a second to buy it once it lands. You can absolutelly expect me to TOFTT, and I'll be here soon to report on it. Like I said, Settlers II was always my favorite but despite initially disliking the new 3Dish graphics, I now have a much more open mind and welcome this new version AS LONG AS IT HAS FREEPLAY MODE AS WELL AS MISSIONS, I'll die a happy man. I almost never played missions, I much prefer to freeplay In short, finding out today that Settlers is coming yesterday for the iPhone was the best birthday present I got this year. Edit: SETTLERS II IS ON GOG?!!?!? I'm buying it right now. I had the abandonware version but I'm all for supporting my favorite games.
This is so moving brother I want to come over and give you a hug I am on the same boat, I love this game so much and I have high hope for this one after being disappointed with C&C.
I agree with everyone regarding Settlers 2. I wasn't into the art style and direct unit control that came with Settlers 3 and upwards.
The Settlers was great back in the day, hope they don't screw it up. Not quite the same as AOE 1. You have a bit less control of the combat, and there is more focus on economy management. It looks a little different in the trailer though, so we'll see.
Already downloading it. It would be awesome it my wireless router wasn't a piece of shit and Windows didn't keep bouncing me back and forth between my Dlink and the neighbor's.
