I know it has to do with the poster on the door of the Study and I'm trying to spell LOVE with the colors and it isn't opening the door. Please help

 

There is something in the house that will magically turn those letters into colors, think about it.

Started playing this game and it's great, but frustrated that I have gotten stuck and seem to be going over the same places again and again. Trying inventory on every opportunity so must be missing something.

I have matches, fuse, ice-pick, fish in bowl, and combination.

I have been outside to shed and stump, and not sure where to go or what to do next.
