The Scrungeon has been observed from deep, deep, below. Many of you have explored these depths and have found a never ending nightmare of insanity and lost hours of life. As the Scrungeon dug deeper… Your disdain for your surroundings grew. Your unwavering testament of strength and fortitude have not gone unnoticed. As the planet continues to rip apart, further and further from what you once knew… the schism grows… The Schrism. The lord of the undying has shown himself once again. 

He, she… It… Only manifests itself when malice is so gravy thick that it doesn’t drip but roll from ceiling to limb littered floor. It has given life to the fallen, fortified by seething hatred, the Hollow Ones breathe yet again, awaiting your delicious flesh. Your innards will fill them with sustenance for eons to come. Unless… Unless you can find a way through the madness. To fight back… Through everything you’ve faced thus far… Surely this is just another meaningless test. The Creator put a world before you, destroyed it and gave you nothing but pain and misery. Whether it be your own unsatisfying ending or lack of direction. The universe is full of mysteries, there is no destiny… No narrative. Seek not what mustn’t be seen, Scrungeoneer. Search what you can barely hold onto before your life slips through your nail-less fingers.

Seek purchase when you can, but do not let your guard down. Evil lurks ever deeper. Stronger than before. Your knowledge up to this point will serve you well, but new relics await your possession. New weaponry cries for the blood of your fallen adversaries. Creatures of unimaginable cruelty await your arrogance. As you stand upon the pile of corpses, remember this… 

It is watching. How far must you go before coming face to face with this realm’s devil itself?

 

Working to get it out by the new year since Apple has a hold on the store submissions around the holidays.

Fingers crossed, but I can’t wait for everyone to use the bows and uncover more crazy power ups!!

 

Thanks mate! I’m pushing hard to get this out ASAP! I appreciate the hype and will do everything I can to get this into your hands. The rarity system in the game is tied to the strength of items as is, but I’ve made more items that are MORE rare than before. For example, the longer the name, the rarer it is as of right now. But with the update, that still holds true, however there are more items that are even rarer based on the ability of said item.

The rarity goes in a WoW sort of fashion: grey, green, blue, purple, yellow, red. With red being the most powerful and (supposedly) the most rare. Some times RNGesus just decides to spit the reds out more often than he should.

I put him in his place, though. So items should be showing up a bit less frequently, making it more exciting to actually get rare stuff.

But you won’t struggle any more or less, I don’t think. The new couple enemies and dungeon scaling should take care of that!

Edit: and also, since no one has pointed it out yet and since really there’s no documentation as such, there are set bonus’ for having a full set of purple, yellow or red gear. The character on the status screen will change color based on the set you have, showing a set is complete. Each set just adds minor passive boosts like higher attack but walk slower, or walk faster and have higher crit, or high defense regeneration and lower attack... etc etc. small nothing giant but it can make for more interesting “builds”. This should be emphasized more in the update though

There's a lot of empty space on that screen that could lend to the craziness of the game's item names for set bonus' and stuff. My man!

 

Thanks man!! I think the addition of ranged weapons (bows for now) adds another layer to the frenetic gameplay.

More and more things have cropped up in my brain for later content, too.

In due time! I’m so sorry I’ve gone dark over the holidays and all that. Life is crazy! But know it is being worked on.

I feel bad it’s been a much longer wait than anticipated, game development work whether your personal work or contract sometimes overshadows the other and deadlines slip. I don’t have a definite date, but know this:

It won’t be long.
It will be free.
There will be a sale across all platforms.

Mostly because I feel so bad taking so long on this.

Long time, no chat!

Hey all!

I know I've fallen off the face of the Earth for what seems like forever, but I promise I haven't given up! I have good news: The build is almost finished. Like, super almost. I'm doing some internal testing then it's off to the races for iOS, with Steam and Android to follow shortly afterward.

My biggest hang up was trying to make everything work all together at once across all platforms... But I figured I'd focus on them in order of development, I think that's fair? I don't know anything anymore. But! I'm super hyped and I wanted to stop by and let everyone know I will have Scrungeon on sale across all platforms! Just to thank new and old players (maybe as a gift for a pal!?) for sticking in there and being so patient with my slow ass haha.

I think you'll all enjoy it, though! It's a challenge for sure. And I think that's what people needed most .
