I know that, but still, I, too, am unable to get the gov to give me a key. I did the bodyguard thing, exorcised the demons, killed the fleasheater kid, finished all in the fire caves...the only things I haven't done are return the necklace, heal dogma (or whatever her name is, because I need to get to Thule) and I guess find out the deal with Thule to report back to the gov. I will keep wandering around, looking and talking. I'd forgotten what a pain in the butt it can be to try and talk to everyone...you think you have knocked on every door and talked to everyone but that's really hard to do!
If you have received the quest entitled, "Find Out the Situation" then you already have the key. Check your inventory. The governor mentions the fact very briefly when you first speak with him so it's easy to miss. Go to the Field of Lava and enter the tree stump. Be sure to shut the door before using the portal
looking I see I don't have the quest or key. I took care of Dolf and the bodyguards and he only refers to those when I go to him. I took care of his wife and daughter, too. any suggestions? I will go now and try again. So, I went back, and the problem is that I can't get the gov to give me the quest to find out what the situation in Thule is. I'm wondering if I did something out of order. I've cleared the cemetery, buried the corpse, returned the undertaker's jewels, found the counterfeiter, cured the witch, opened the cold spring, sent Hildemar away, gave the guy his feathers, paralyzed Dolf, killed the fleasheating son, found the idol and fertility plant, done the bodyguard quest. I also took care of the convince the mayor to hold the festival quest, too. I'm just trying to remember all of them in case that's important to the impasse at which I now find myself. All that I have left is the innkeeper's brother's quest and healing that woman. What did I miss in order to get the gov to give me the quest? It doesn't seem like this should be that hard, and I feel like I'm overlooking something stupid because I don't think this has happened to anyone else.
Eldfell Map I've been trying out the expansion, but found myself doing my own quest: mapping out the island. It was also a mindless way to level up and accidentally fall into quests. I've attached the map for anyone who might be interested (please don't do it if you want to find your own way around). It's in the format of the previous map for The Quest--which I found to be very useful. Oh, and please let me know if there are any mistakes....

The identity of the thief is revealed as part of the solution to another quest. Highlight for spoiler (if browsing on iPhone select 'quote' option to reveal text): You need to solve the 'Cure Hildemar' quest. Go and talk to the Governors wife (first during the day and then at night if you don't have this quest yet). Talking to townspeople, including knocking on doors, etc, should give you plenty of clues on where to find Arven. If you are still stuck from there highlight for spoiler (if browsing on iPhone select 'quote' option to reveal text): If I remember correctly he is found in the Lava Lake area. Check the ingame map to find the Lava Lake and go explore throughly. Hope that is of some help!
Unlock bone door near Temple of the New Era? I recently won The Quest on iPhone, and am now roaming about Freymore, trying to finish off all the various side quests I missed along the way. I just completed the "Kill the Cyclops King" quest, but can't seem to find a way to unlock one of the doors next to the area of the Silver Peak cave titled "Temple of the New Era" (yes, I know you can't actually open the temple door, I'm talking about the bone door a little ways away from it). I've successfully disarmed the door, but no amount of spellcasting or lockpicking seems to unlock it. I can see some sort of goodies waiting for me in there, so I'd really like to find a way in. Any tips? Thanks!

arwen is near the mountain to the north of the home of the healer. anyone know how to convince father whatshisname to give me the book so i can exorcise the demon? do i need more persuade skill?
When you first went into that part of the Silver Peak cave there was a witch and three or four orcs(?) standing nearby. If you killed the witch she dropped the key to the door. If you didn't pick a fight with her before you finished The Quest, then she is gone when you go back and you can therefore not kill her to get the key. From memory I think I found a potion and some gold there. But not a special item of anykind. I played through most of this expansion game before deciding to restart it. The first time I played through I had this quest before I explored that area. I found Arven there and killed him and completed the quest. This time I made the mistake of killing Arven before getting the quest from his father. And nothing I try allows me to complete the quest now. So I think it is a bug if you kill him prior to getting that quest. It's annoying isn't it! Highlight for spoiler showing the location of the spring: Go back to the home of the healer. Stand at her front door. Now turn and look to the left. You will see a crack in the mountain side. It's not far from the green tree/shrub. A few people have already asked this question! Highlight for spoiler: No amount of persuade skill works. Instead wait until nightfall and then go and help yourself to a five fingered discount. Break in using one of the windows and steal the book.

You need to use a special weapon. Maybe there is someone nearby who has one that you can ask for or take... There is a thread specifically for the expansion game. Hi Kmact and welcome to the forums! This is one of those questions where you will be kicking yourself once you know the answer! Highlight for spoiler: You missed a button on the wall of a cell. It's at the end of a cell near where you freed the old man. Its squarish and light brown in colour. When you press the button the wall at the end of the cell disappears and a teleporter is revealed. Hope that helps.
