Highlight for spoiler: To defeat the Witch Queen you will need to get the Hammer of Witches weapon. I played this part of The Quest some weeks ago now and I am not up to this same part on my current playthrough. So my memory isn't too good on the exact details, but I remember I got this weapon from a Goblin in or near the Long Spit Village. If you do not already have this weapon go to the Long Spit Village and talk to the Goblins there. I think one of the Goblins gives you the quest to kill the Witch Queen and the Hammer to kill her with. I hope I'm remembering correctly... Highlight for spoiler: You cannot enter the Thieves Guild until the correct moment in the game. I entered the Thieves Guild as part of a series of tasks I undertook for the Mysterious Man (who is located in Skryven Keep - The Tower which is directly west of the village of Phryn). When the Mysterious Man wants you to join the Thieves Guild he will tell you and he will tell you where to go to find them and what you need to do to join them. I never thought of tackling the Thieves Guild in that way! But I like the way you think! It will be interesting to see if anyone else did this and what the consequences are for the game. I don't think you will have anything to worry about with the expansion. Redshift have announced that the expansion can be played as a standalone game. So I don't think it will have consequences for you in the expansion.
Highlight for spoiler: I spent ages trying to work this one out when I got stuck there! Did you free the prisoner yet? In one of the cells near the prisoner that you free there is a button on the wall. It looks like a small brownish brick that sticks out slightly from the cell wall. Push the button and the wall opens and you can access a teleporter.
You're most welcome! I like to help if I can. As do most people here in the Touch Arcade forums. It is one of the things I like most about this place.
it seemed like the most obvious solution...I mean I was playing a "good" aligned character and they were most certainly not a very friendly thieves guild...so I murdered them all. was I the only one? really?
I don't know if anyone else murdered them too. I suspect other players may also have done what you did. I too played a good aligned character. I carried out the requests of the Thieves Guild but it was with a heavy heart and a guilty conscense! By that part of the game I had been struggling with what the Mysterious Man wanted me to do. I didn't complete all the quests that he gave me in the way that he wanted (for example I didn't get the confession he wanted. I have that man his freedom instead!). And early in the game I didn't make a deal with the jeweller to share in the stolen chest. I refused her offer and called the guards on her! So I missed out on the material rewards from collecting the chest and completing the inheritance quest. Instead I got a reward to my reputation. So I decided to play along with the Thieves Guild but only just. I was really interested in seeing if my reputation or other attributes suffered for it but there was no effect that I could tell. EDIT: And you are correct - they were not a very friendly bunch! Throughout the game I kept hearing that the Thieves Guild would be happy to help me as it was in their interest to have the Governor, etc restored to rule. But when it came time to meet them they were most unfriendly and not at all eager to help me!
you can resolve that quest with a boost to your reputation and material rewards...but I forget how, it was like 3months ago...I should play the game again! it was fun... mages are the best character for it, totally. IMHO. the world isn't QUITE varied enough to have a thief be REALLY interesting (like in Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, the thief/assassin side quests were SO GOOD in bad ways, they were better than the main quest by far IMO)
im trying to get rid of the demon in Sister Elfwin and having trouble. ive got the scroll, been to her, and she basically said ha ha im too strong for you. ive visitied the alchemist, and every holy person i can find but with no leads. what do i do now?
In the area of the Monastery, head South to a hole in the ground that contains an underground cave. There you'll find a holy man who can help you complete this quest. Tip: Only request help and do not discuss anything else. When you've exorcised and killed the demon return to him for another mission.
Thanks for the heads up, BadSanta. I really look forward to meeting my fellow TA members in the new in game chat function
I could have sworn that this question was answered repeatedly, but I looked through this thread and didn't find it: How do I get to the mage Julius? I tapped the 2 candelabra in the house - nothing, hit them with weapons and spells ditto. The same with the lamps outside near the house. What am I overlooking? TIA.
Go back to Julius' rival and tell him that the assistant won't let you in. He'll give you a book to bribe her into lowering the force field. If your persuasion skill is high enough she'll accept the present. Otherwise...after you've talked again with the rival, stare into the mirror inside Julius house and then tap the lamp outside near the door. I think the key is returning back to the Mage who gave you the poisoned gloves.
im in vastares and im sure that there are more quests to do but i cant find them..ive found the chest, banished the devil, found the mortar, found the treasure and found yanns book..the big thing is i cant find julius's rival. where might he be at?
It seems that you have at least 4 more quests to do in Vastares: Holy Chrism - Crypt of Vastares Bones of St. Vastar - Monastery of Vastares Archmage's gloves - Mage Lair Kill the Eye for the Holy Man - Cave of the Holy Man And Julius's rival can be found at the Mage Lair, somewhere in the Redwood Forest (south of the Vastares City Center). Hope this helps.
reading over others' game accounts, it appears I missed out on about 1/3 of the quests my first time through, because of the choices I made. That's both cool and not. The fact that I didn't know these EXISTED sucks...but the fact that there's more to do on a second try is cool. When will that darned update beo ut? I want to use some of the um...benefits...from beating the game!
Highlight for spoiler: She is found in a seperate section of the Undead City. In the bottom left-hand corner there is a path that is blocked by an obstacle. Clear the path and you will find her house (door) on the north section of that cavern.
