Oh, I figured out what the problem was, the switches control the door? I thought the plaque that read "combined lock" was a panel that opened up...this whole time I have been trying to get it open.

Ok. I'm on the "kill eye for the holy man" quest and I can't seem to get the other "parent". I went to the one on the right (facing holy man) and killed the parent eye but when I go to the other one it's just 2 small eyes and no parent eye. Can someone please help.

Raging Llama: try to attack the Queen, even if she seems peaceful now. If you kill her and her two guards you can complete the quest.

zero144: there is only one parent eye and two 'servants'. I think you've found them all...

    Isilel:
I think 30 would be enough for the persuade skill around Vastares.
    *SPOILER*
With a so high skill, after you've persuaded the shopkeeper, you'll be able to get even more money/share from her. So you'll have a new option during the conversation where you can ask for at least half of the money and you can get the will too. Of course if you already had at least 30 persuade you saw this option... And probably you'll have more options with other characters too, I don't remember it exactly. Also when you have the chest you can take it to at least 4-5 different characters for different rewards, it depends on your choice.

Keeping a crime: you mean in Vastares? For example, break into houses with a skeleton key which you can buy at the thief shop there. Also, steal from all the citizens - the ones in the city center have even better stuff I think. And of course if you complete a quest, choose the 'most evil' way. Also if you go to jail, pick your cell's lock and get all stuff in the jail. (One of the items you can get in a prison is very useful, but I don't remember whether you can get it in Vastares' or Phryn's prison...)

Sohea's mortar is the same as the apprentice's mortar, just with a different color. The Master's Mortar is the best in the game, you'll get it in the next town.

Heavy Armor: the blacksmith in the next town (Phryn) will teach you exactly that skill, so don't worry about that. : ) The game has trainings for all possible skills, but some of them are well hidden. (For example, the best enchant and undead magic training you can ask from a character who is not even in the surface of the world...)

Yes. I acquired a price on my head in an unexpected way in the House of Delights and I thought that maybe there are quests in Vastares that require me to be wanted, like the one in Matras? Isn't there a continuation to that incident?

Does Unlock spell also work in jail? Or only the Unlock skill?

Thanks a lot for all the answers, that's very interesting.

BTW, throwing knives rock, but going to inventory every time to change weapons is a bit cumbersome.
Did you guys consider implementing switching between weapons in battle like you did switching between wands and scrolls? It would be much more convenient.

    Currymutton:

If you liked the Lite, why wait? There are tons of entertainment in this one, it is like a full PC RPG.

I would like to know if there is any place in Matras or Vastares that teaches Heavy Armour because I just got the Priest shield (which is awesome) and i would love to use it. But because im ethrium or whatever the race is my light armour is better. Thanks in advance

Zero, Sylon answered that question 2 posts above. The blacksmith that teaches Heavy Armor is in Phryn, the next town.

Does anybody Heavy and Light weapon skills, I wonder?

    Sylon,

I too have this problem with this quest. I remember that when I try to attack her, it says, "This is a friendly character. You should not attack, they might have something to say" or something like that. I think it might have to do with the reset of enemies after a week....I *think* that right after I spent the night, I could attack them if I went back down. I was too weak then, though. And now when I come back I can't kill them and she offers me no choices other than goodbye. Could this be fixed in a patch possibly down the road?

troutdog, that is exactly the same thing that happens to me! All i get is the goodbye options and the "enemies might have something to say" stuff. I know I was able to attack her and her guards earlier on, but now it's not giving me any stuff (I think it was since the last update).

EDIT: oh, and how do you use the skeleton key to break into houses? I just bought one but don't know about any thieving requirements or stuff like that.

EDIT THE EDIT: Nvm, i got it. thanks though.

I had a similar problem. So I tackled it by playing cards in the inn and winning enough money to pay for additional skill levels and spell books (to teach me spells) and to purchase better equipment. Each card game lasts for an hour in game time. I played for a few days worth of game time but it did give me the extra help I needed to level up before taking on those Shaman's (and they were still a problem for me at times!) Unless you have a time critical quest underway the passing time playing cards didn't hurt me in the long run. Also remember that save is your friend if you are gambling $$$). Of course there are other ways to get cash and to level up. But I used this as a last resort and it helped me. You should also try different tactics. Maybe your current method of approach is not suited to fighting the Dwarves and Shaman's? For example, try some magic, try some potions, try poisoning and retreating, etc.

EDIT: enemies (except the bosses) respawn after 7 days ingame time.

EDIT again: I also hugged the coastline down from the Pagoda to the Monastry. I avoided a lot of Shaman's this way and was able to complete the quests at the Monastry and build XP that way.

Read every single skill and spell book you find in the game, then resell them to the libraries you find in Vastares and later on, in Mithra. Reading books is one of the most cost-effective ways to level up within the game.

Also, in each village you will find people who will be able to train you (for a price) in various skills. I highly recommend selling off any item that you are unable to use for cash to spend on training.

Another strategy is to enchant items that you've found or purchased. You can increase your strength, endurance, resistance to magic, etc by wearing an enchanted item. Depending on your environmental skill level, you may be able to enchant items for up to 90-100 storage. You can also pay the Sorceress at the local Magic shop to enchant the items for you. Each new town features a more powerful magician, so be sure to save your high storage enchantables for later in the game.

Isilel: no, I think there is no continuation to that 'evil' quest in Matras.
If the unlock spell is high enough it works like the skill.
And yes, the switching between weapons is on our todo list. : )

troutdog: yep, that could be the problem - if you go up from the amazon cave without any real action and come back only a week later that could cause a problem. We'll check this out, I hope we'll find a solution/fix to this...

    Hello,
I have a problem. I am stuck with two things on The quest. I cannot figure out how to find the fisherman or the sailors and I cannot find the Idol of the Ozman quest. Can you help me?

I am having a problem getting past the Ozman Orc quest as I cannot find the idol. I also cannot find out how to find the fisherman or the sailors nor the entrance to the storeroom. Can you help?

    Idol for the ork:
If you're aproaching the ork from the north the idol should be to the right. It's in the water. Just walk to the west if you're at the pagoda and than always tap on the ground. It should be a few steps to the west...

Well, you can always pay him 500 gp :). But if you go right along the river (assuming you are facing the Orc) and tap the water at every step, you will find it.

Re: the smuggler's storeroom, it is actually rather disappointing re: loot. But it is satisfying to solve the puzzle. Think about your clues: the entry is underground, it is secret and there is a place for boats to moor at not far away. Not that you'd see any boats or sailors either, but thinking about this helped me to find the entrance ;).

P.S. - you did talk with the prostitute who gave you the clues for 2gp, right?

Thanks for the help. I think something is wrong with my download. I have checked the river on both sides up and down. I cannot find it. I have looked all over and across both sides. Also I have checked all the caves around Matras but no go on the storeroom and yes I have talked to the prostitute and paid. Still stuck

I have looked in the cematary cave and the wolfcreek tree and no luck. I have looked everywhere around the abandoned pier and around the docks as well. Any other clues for me?
