Mmh...still can't find that cave... Think I'm searching for hours (RL-time) now... Btw...maybe I'm too stupid but I can't figure out how to train some new spells. Does it depend on my Attack Magic lvl!? Because I just bought a book that should have tought me some attack spells but somehow it just raised my lvl...
Some books you read will increase your skill levels. What you need are some spell books. If you are lucky you will find these (in barrels, on shelves or as treasure when you kill an enemy). You can also purchase spell books from libraries and from the shop that is represented by the scroll/parchment icon (sorry, forget what they are called in the game ) Read them and then sell them back to recoup some of the money you spend. Also be sure to revisit them as what they have for sale will change. I think it changes every day.
Flip- The Amazon cave is located in the map area "The River of Brendan" so you are in the right place. What might be throwing you off is that the cave is subterranian. You'll want to look for a hole in the ground (much like the entrance to the crypt in the Matras cemetary.) If you need more precise directions, let me know and I'll send you a private message.
Confirming cave's location. You need to wander the area, checking the map to make sure that you don't leave it. If you had been near the cave already, it will be marked as a dark circle on the map.
Hey, im pretty new to this game and was wondering how stats affect you. Like if i have 30 dual wield but i make it 35 dual wield after leveling up, how will that change my damage output? Thanks for the help.
i've to correct those of you who are saying there a lots of site quests, thats not true. in fact the whole game only has about 50 quests, some of them are complex some of them not. you can make some of them at the same time, but all of them are part of the "main" story.. the only thing which comes to my mind and is not part of that is the card game you can play in the inn. so there are not sooo many quests so dont give them who ask about that the wrong impressions.. but its still a great game sry for my bad english
Isilel: if you commit a crime (so your crime level is not 0) that streetwalker girl will tell you more about her little quest, that's for sure. (There will appear a new topic in her dialogue: 'About your offer'.) You will have only 24 hours to complete that quest. As for the maps, please use the world map too - there you can select the towns at any time and check which areas are in the near. F.e. select 'Village of Matras' and you will see that to the west there is 'Cemetery of Matras', to the north there is 'Wolfcreek', etc. Mostly in the quests and quest logs you can find the places/targets with these names, f.e. find something in the Port of Matras, then simply just tap on the world map and check where you are and where you have to go. It's very easy. smirnoffsky: we hope we can make the transportable characters in the expansion packs - right now we're working on the demo, it will be out next week if Apple will give it a green light soon. nowhereroad: sorry, the 'ingame journal' is not in our todo list, at least not in the 'let's do it as soon as possible' list. : ) Flip: the Amazon Cave is under the River of Brendan. But the entrance will appear only after you talked with Thurm and he gave you his quest. The rogues are living in the Dungeon of Blood which is under the Forest of Blood. It's a totally different place. walsh06: the game is absolutely open and non-linear. Almost too non-linear, some say there are too much ways to go and too much sidequests to solve. : ) The real story will mostly begin when you arrive at the third town, Phrynn, and visit the Mysterious Man in his tower. Flip again: snow mani has right, some books are 'just' skill books. So if you buy and read one, it will increase your skill, f.e. attack magic skill. But there are other books, spellbooks, which contains spells, and this is in their name too, like 'Book of Poison Cloud' which will teach you the Posion Cloud spell. iPodTouchApplication: nice video, shows many things around the beginning, but you should at least get a weapon in your hand so the battles will be much shorter and enjoyable. : ) greenhornet9: the dual wield skill increases your damage when you attack with two weapons at once. Mostly you can get a short sword in your left hand and almost anything else (except a bow) in your right hand. With a high level of Dual Wield skill you will be able to fully utilize both weapons' full damage. mcwkey: the game has 60 quests (of course you can't see all of them at once because sometimes a quest will appear only if you are good or evil, male or female, Rasvim or Etherim, etc.), many of them are not connected to the main storyline, so don't worry when you can't solve some of them. Most of the time when just a 'simple' male or female citizen gives you a quest they are really just their little quests, and nothing else.
Ah, OK. There is a price of 1.1K on my char's head and I have been told that I have committed a crime a couple of times, but my crime level still seems to be 0. Interesting... As to the map - yes, I am a dolt . I didn't understand how the world map worked since no settlements were marked on it and it didn't occur to me just to tap on it. But now I finally see it and it is indeed very convenient. Thanks! BTW, that's another point for including the manual as an in-game book that every character should start with . Mcwkey, Re: sidequests, I run into tons of sidequests so far. And none of them seem to have anything whatsoever to do with the main quest. What I love is that there are so many choices and unexpected events within the quests. A simple fed-ex can turn into something else entirely, you can betray the initial quest-giver, there are wheels within wheels, etc. Very fun and superior to most modern AAA RPGs.
Hmm, Isilel, are you sure there is a price on your head right now? Who told you that? The man in red clothes around Vastares? I think you have committed a crime some days/weeks ago but probably you did pay the fine for a guard, or you were in the jail (or you asked that man in red clothes to help you) so now you are clear. That's why your crime level is 0 now so that streetwalker doesn't talk with you about her offer...
I finished the game last night... What an amazing game! A lot of fun to play and it has kept me occupied for hours. Well done again Sylon/Redshift. I am now going revisiting each town. It's interesting to see what some of the citizens have to say to me considering that I'm a hero now and all that! I've got some feedback on the Mysterious Man quests, the final quest and a script error bug (that other people have also had). I'll be emailing those to the devs. I think that the next thing I will do is to replay as an evil character.
I, too, am playing again...this time as an evil character. Without a doubt, "The Quest" is one of my favorite games of all time and I am eagerly awaiting all the expansion packs BTW, did you "meet" Sylon's character in the game (after the final battle)?
one question. I have to find the 3 skulls and i've gotten 2. The last one is the Pit of Blood and i have no clue where that is. Anyone know?
Check your account e-mail on this site, I've just sent you a private message regarding where to find the final skull.
quick question: Is Nadia's father in the amazon cave? I remember I did a quest before where you had to kill the queen and in the same cave I released a man in there...was that her father? Because all I know is I got the Nadia's potion quest and I cant find her father anymore.
Yes, the man that you released was Nadia's father. Have you tried going back to Nadia and choosing that quest again? Maybe she will recognise that you have released her father? Maybe try visiting her father in his house that is near the abandoned farmland (if I remember correctly it is slightly southwest from Matras) and then go and visit Nadia again.
I'm interested in picking up the game and its silly to ask 'is it worth it' since that is SO opinionated... So my question after looking at the screen shots is 'Is the game free roaming or do I click an arrow and it simply puts my character in that new location?' or is it kind of like the Myst games?
You click an arrow and your character steps in that direction. You don't blink from location to location if that's what you are asking. Just got the game too. I'm quite amazed with so many little details that the game file is this small.
Uncle's Haunter Wife question I'm stuck in the crypt in Cemetery of Mithria trying to figure out where and how to put the Gold Flower on the "shelf" of the Uncle's wife. SPOILER BELOW I talked to the wraith, refused to release her, read the inscription (which seemed to indicate that I made a good choice), but now I don't seem to be able to trigger a placing of the Gold Flower. There seems to be only 2 places for the flower: the pedestal and a cubbyhole in the wall (where goodies are normally found), but neither place triggers the placement of the flower. Any help/hint would be much appreciated!
