I'm currently running on an iPhone 3G. I'm not Jailbroken. I haven't had any stability issues with the updated version.
Ah sry I meant the PC-Demo...in my other posts I already mentioned that I'm playing the PC-Demo. Does anyone have a solution for this problem!?
I'm still enjoying this game and I've been playing it for weeks now (mostly just strolling around looking for trouble... getting rich playing cards in Vastares ). I think I read somewhere that an expansion is in the works? Hope it really comes out... and soon
There is an expansion to the original Pocket PC / Palm version, and I know they were working on how to bring that over to the iPhone. The main problem is in how (from my understanding) Apple prohibits games that are linked to other games, which means the expansion would have to be standalone, which I gather means there'd be no way to use old characters. It sounds like the micro-transaction garbage in firmware update 3.0 might fix all that, but if that's what it takes to get a true expansion I'm not sure I want one. However, full discussion of the 3.0 stuff is in another thread, so that's all I'll say on that. As for a demo, they are discussing a true iPhone demo, but there seems to be some contention as to whether one is necessary and, if so, how limited should it be. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they'll make one, just because I think it will get a lot of people sucked in that are on the fringe right now, and I'm still voting for this to sell well enough that they do Legacy.
Isilel: thanks for the suggestions, we'll think about them. As for Legacy, yes, we'll better graphics - but don't worry, the good graphics will not mean less gameplay or world-building detail. : ) Flip: you should kill the Amazon Guards and the Queen, not the Rogues - those are in a different cave! snow mani: BadSanta said it right: as spells become stronger, they need more mana points too. PointOfLight: yes, we'll make one. : )
A quick question re: smuggling investigation in Matras - there is a prostitute in the port area that told my char that she'd spill the beans about smuggling once the PC has a price on her head - but once I commited a couple of crimes, she seems unable to recognize it and still spouts the same dialog. Should I just look for the secret entrance? TIA. BTW - what a brilliant game! I love how certain seemingly mundane quests in Vatares can take a sharp left turn, LOL.
Oh, I was hoping any kind of expansion would at least come in form of a simple update. I wouldn't mind paying for another standalone (the game is really worth it), but not being able to use your old character would somewhat spoil the fun a bit... kinda beating the purpose of an expansion. I don't have a full grasp of the concept of that micro-transaction thingy, but I wonder if there's a workaround to the problem. Like maybe you could export your character data via email, and then retrieve it in the standalone expansion. I'm thinking something similar to the Slotz Car system, but you're exporting character data instead of tracks from one application to another. I haven't finished the game yet, but I'm already looking forward to more good stuff (prior to Legacy and that other game Redshift is working on which looks like The Quest but with a party system).
I think you can just look for the secret entrance yourself without talking to the prostitute (but further talking to her might lead to something else ). P.S. I can't seem to make the multi-quote feature work properly.. sorry for the double post
Hit M/Quote on any items you want to quote, then on the last item actually hit the Quote button instead of M/Quote. In the box you get to type your reply you should see all the responses that you hit M/Quote or Quote on.
Where is the Witch Queen? I can't find the Witch Queen. I've spent hours of real time looking for her. The quest is "Kill the Witch Queen" and the description is "Kill the Witch Queen for Waheetu the Goblin Elder in Long Spit Village - East". Can someone please put me out of my misery and let me know which section of map I can find her in. I'm getting tired of wandering around in the rain, fighting witches and cyclops and winged eyes looking for her. You can PM me if you don't want to post a spoiler.
snow mani- check your account on this site...also when you arrive at the Witch Queen's lair be sure to use a certain weapon that someone gave you
Thank-you! I'll go and re-search through that area. I'll definately remember to use that weapon. I've been lugging that damn thing around for ages now. I'm just hoping it's not like when I took on the Cyclops King. Boy that was a nasty trick!
in a future version, would it be possible to add a journal, maybe under the quest info screen, in which the player can write notes to him/herself? might be helpful for keeping track of quest progress, people, places, etc.
Can anybody tell me where to solve the "Thurm's Quest for the Animals"-Quest. I'm searching for the Amazon-Cave but I can't find it... Just found the cave in the "River of Brendan"-area...but this is where the rogues live...and I already killed them all...
I have as yet to complete the game myself, but if it's anything like Legacy I believe there are a lot of quests that are there for the sake of questing, and not because you need them to finish the game. Also, it's not uncommon to have 8-10 quests going at a time, many of which have no prerequisites for being solve, so I'd say it's not very linear in that perspective.
i have always been a fan of open game play and i was thinking this game looks good. with side quests that makes it very good for me so ill definetly think about getting it.
Flip, I am quite bad in finding my way both in RL and in games. I found some cave near the swamp area and the village with peaceful fisher goblins. I guess that in a couple of hours I'll know whever it is the right one. Oh, and I have another suggestion to Redshift - can you folks take a page out of city maps in book form and show on local area maps what other areas they border on? Like, for instance, the swamp area. To the south - nothing, since it is all sea. To the North - Passage (?), to the east Wolfskreek, etc. Just to use a couple of examples. That would make finding one's way in The Quest much more convenient. Walsh, not only are there tons of side-quests, but they also often contain choices and some quite unexpected turns . Whether these have any long-term consequences I don't yet know, though. They certainly can affect your character's wallet and reputation, however.
