Potential Spoilers - Holy Man link, Final Quest info. !!!!POTENTIAL SPOILERS!!!!!!! Here's the link to the topic regarding mind magic and the Holy Man quest: http://www.pdaground.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3125&highlight=holy+man If for whatever reason that doesn't work right, it's the post titled "can't get 2 quests...need help before I get a new Palm" About the "unlock the bones among the trees" quest - getting the Redshift item. First, you need to have actually found that message, which you would have seen in the other dimension. Having done that, I'll put in white the part about where to find those bones. It really took me forever, and finally I found them...you should know what to do with them once you find them: Go to the Dark Castle, and walk south, where you should run into a big pile of bones next to a ring of trees. It's not very far from the Castle...just go south. One more thing. The weapon you get when you answer the gatekeeper seems to either be random or dependant upon what race you were. I got something else...though the bonus in Mithria is what everyone gets who makes a certain choice at the end. If you choose the other option with the Gatekeeper, you get a slew of special weapons. You also get an upgrade of the Mithria bonus. I tried to say all that without giving too much away. I may put a spoiler alert at the start of this reply just in case...I wouldn't have wanted anyone to ruin my fun. I hit all 53 quests and sidequests...failing only the Ransom Quest and the Return Bolnar Quest, and while I found Mayuama's (spelling?) Sister, I didn't want to finish up by opening that chest because her amulet was incredibly helpful to me...I ended up at the Gateway with 100% resistance to diseases (after beginning the game with -20%) That was really key in the end. This game was a blast. Did I see someone above say that the expansion pack was a definite, or is that just wishful thinking?
Sylon PM'd me the following not too long ago, "we'll release the official expansion within 1-2 months."
Yup! Note to Sylon / Redshift: You could totally release JUST this card game as a .99 / free game on iTunes and it would help draw people in to the main game or be a nice side venture. I've found myself in the past with the Legacy / Zodiac version just playing repeatedly from a saved point in the game in front of a tavern, JUST to play the card game. If I don't have enough time to roll through the quests, just a casual card game was fun. Cheers, -Farnsy
That's great news on the expansion pack. I was debating buying it for my HTC Touch or the PC, but would rather (oddly enough, perhaps) play it on the iphone. This was seriously money well spent - not all apps, as most probably have discovered, turn out to be like that. And it's probably a good thing that they wait a bit to release the expansion, since this game has consumed lots of my time, daily and now I really need to catch up on work! By the way, since the expansion is coming, then you would do well to make sure you have that special item, and whatever else you can collect between then and now. You can, from what I can see, continue with your player. At least that was the case with the other platforms. While I may start a new file with a new character, I've put a lot into pimping out my Etherim, lol. And it's so much easier to kill things now than it was before. I ended up as a level 16 and I'd really like to see how many more I can get before we can get to the new worlds...that is assuming, of course, that the expansion allows for that as it did for the other platforms. Ah, one more thing...did anyone ever get the Crush spell? I didn't and I don't know if I just didn't see it or if it's maybe something that came in the expansion. It sounded cool and it would be great addition for my character.
Since they've entered the realm of the iPhone, I'd imagine that's coming. Check out Champion's Cards. Just ignore the release date
That's interesting. I wonder if there is any chance they will bring Dungeoned to the i-device. That looks like something I'll like.
krazyfingerzz: we're working on fixing that script error at the end. : ) We hope we can find what should cause that problem. Thanks for the detailed info! ponyboy: no, you don't need the 'super secret item' to the expansion pack. It's just a bonus item. greenhornet9: the quest about the murder and the inheritance is a big, complex, 'investigate' type of quest with many non player characters involved. As usual as a detective you need to talk with as many NPCs as you can, and you have to have a high persuade skill to get the proper answer from some of them. Hint: you need to talk with the nobleman, with his daughter, with his girlfriend, and even with a 'worker' man in the port quarter and with a shopkeeper in the city. And of course the citizens in the city center also have some gossip to tell you about this case. If you'll have high enough persuasion and good choices during the conversations you'll find out who was the murderer and where the chest is. Then you again will have many choices to end this quest, even some 'dark' ones involving some criminals. : ) krazyfingerzz again: yes, there will be an expansion pack for the game where you'll be able to continue your adventures with your character. (At least this is our goal now - we're working on solving this issue. Normally on the iPhone you can't make this type of connection between two different games.) Right now we're working on The Quest's 'ingame chat system'. farnsworthiness: yes, we'll release a stand-alone fantasy card game - later, after the Quest's expansion pack. Ravenblack: yes, Dungeoned will be released too. : ) We'll try to make it as a multiplayer game.
Is it just me or is this game super-hard at the beginning... Just played the PC-Demo and I think I died around 3 times just in the cemetry...and if there are more than 1 1/2 enemies...I simply have to run away... Am I just TOO stupid for this game!?
Flip, what is killing your char? The skeletons? Outside or in the crypt? Do you hit them back - tapping the crossed swords icon or using an attack spell? If they dance around you, keep in mind that your char needs to face them to hit. What kind of character do you have? The game is not too complicated or difficult, it is just like with all worthwhile games you need some time to figure out how the things work. I have also heard that they made early enemies easier on the iTouch. Some tips - Alchemy is essential, IMHO. First, all those potions really help. And second, hunting for plants is addictive by itself. There is a reward behind every corner! Attack magic also seems quite powerful from the start (unlike in many other RPGs). Accuracy, OTOH, seems to be pretty underpowered early on. Arrows are really expensive and don't do much damage. Sylon, I am loving the game! I still think that a Lite version that ends when the character reaches level 3 or so (which seems to be legit, as I have seen many Lites of other games on AppStore using the level limitation) would be very beneficial for exposure. The one thing that I needed to get used to was the whole "step" movement and particularly turning. I did play Eye of Beholder 2 back then, but I never encountered this mechanic since. Not sure if it could be changed, but I would have liked that. And maybe a "tap-to-move" controls would be feasible? The arrows work OK, but I often wish to just tap where I want the char to go. But those are just nitpicks, it is an excellent game! And I hope that you don't listen to the clamor for 3D. The game is very pretty as is and there are tons of successful games on DS with 2D graphics. 3D just makes the development much more difficult/costly and usually hurts the gameplay in the bargain. IMHO, visual improvements, if any, should aim at making the sprites even prettier.
The game was originally pretty hard in the beginning, but I think they toned that down a lot for the iPhone version. I helped with the beta testing, and the release version that I've been playing was quite a bit easier in the cemetery than what I remember from when I first started the beta.
I now have the secret item; however, I did not have the key so... Spolier to follow in white (highlight with mouse to read)... I searched south of the dark castle as you suggested, found the pile of bones amongst a grove of dead trees, tapped on them and nothing happended. I then tried a wand of strong unlock on them and a message appeared stating that I hear some strange noise behind me. When I turned around, Sylon was there (as a wraith) and presented me with the amulet. Cool. Thanks for the tip!
well actually everything is nearly killing me in every fight. as i mentioned before: if there's more than one enemy it get's pretty tough.and i'm wasting at least 6 - 10 potions in every fight. but maybe the beginning is a little easier in the iphone-version...as i said i'm playing the pc-demo at the moment...thinking about getting this one but the level of difficulty keeps me away... but thanks a lot for the hints. Greetz, Flip
I've not tried the PC demo, but I'm assuming you still get the ability to create your character. Try the Derth race, and make liberal use of the Burning Hand spell. That might help you to get a little further in the game.
um one quick question before I buy this game. Is the combat in real time like in Oblivion or is it turn based combat?
Old school, anyway check the screenshots and the official in-gamev ideo on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a0KMay1T5sA Update 1.2 is out.
