Can someone give me a link to a video. I want to see how the framerate and other things do in the game before I buy it.

    A few questions

I've been playing for a while now. But after originally jumping in feet first, I kept being killed and so I went back and read the on-line manual and have now restarted my game from scratch.

Now I've been playing again for a short time and my character has now reached level 5. And I've completed the sickness quest in the first town, I got rid of the orc at the pagoda and I've cleaned out the Amazon cave (hole in the ground) and released Thurm's father in law.

I've some questions and I am hoping someone here can help me.

    1) I'm now carry around a few books. Some are just information books and some are books that taught me skills. Can I sell them or get rid of them now? Or will I need them later on?

    2) I found a book that I can't learn from because I am not playing an undead character. The book is called the 'Primary Contagion' book. It teaches undead magic. Will I need this book for any quest or can I sell or get rid of it?

    3) Is there anywhere to store loot? If I put it in an empty barrell will it still be there when I return later in the game? If I sell it to a shop keeper will it still be available to buy back at a later time, say in a few game weeks?

SoCal Sponger: nope, there is no walkthrough for the game, at least I know no writings like that. Probably partly because there is not just one way for solving the quests. Even your race, your outfit, your gender etc. can modify the quests, or simply you'll find a new quest here if you're an undead, and you'll find another new quest there because you're not an undead.
Onin in the swamp area: during the night-time usually he sleeps too. : ) And this goes to all walking npcs in the game, even the quest-related ones - you'll not find them in their place in the night-time.

SurgE: there are no screenshots from the new version but probably we'll make some. : )

Diggity Dan: beside the d-pad there will be a longer, more detailed quest log, mostly for the beginning quests for beginners. : )
But we can't make 'active' quest logs, the game wasn't designed in this way. The solution is to solve only 2-3 quests at once. : )

krazyfingerzz: I've never heard about a bug like this in the game - I mean the 'you have no items to enchant' bug. Are you sure you have at least one item which has place for an enchantment? If you want send us your saved game (redshift at redshift dot com) when you stand right at the front of the magic shop and we'll check it out.

applesauce: ah yes, sometimes there is too much rain in the game - this 'bug' arrived too late so it's not included in version 1.1 but the following one will have the fix for this issue. : ) Until hat, if you sleep or play some card game at the inns the weather will change - try this if you think there is too much rain out there. : )

neophyte: if you really killed all monsters in the Amazon Cave, the quest for Thurm should be OK. But if you encounter some problem just do what Ecko7123 wrote: wait a week and return for killing again all monsters. : )

Xgamer: the framerate is OK in the game, don't worry about that. (That youtube video is a bit slow because I made it on my PC with a program which slows down the whole machine during the 'save as video' function... : )

snow mani: yes, you can sell books. Once you learn the spells/skills from them, they're useless. Also the information books are just for information - if you don't need them, just sell them.
Also you can sell the undead book - if you're not an undead, it's useless.
For store loot you can use any barrels or just the ground but they will gone after a week when the whole map refreshes, don't forget that! (Only at the end of the game will you have an own house with some special shelves which will keep your stuff forever.)

@ Sylon/Redshift - thanks for the prompt answer. :) I'll sell all the books once I've read them and make sure I'm careful about the rest of the loot.

    Cemetery

Just got the game and I'm very impressed. Keep up the awesome work. Already looking forward to updates and expansions!

I dove right into the game and got into the dungeon under the cemetery no problem. Just walked over the whole and the game asked me if I wanted to go down. I died fighting two skeletons and never saved my game, so I started over. This time, in the cemetery, when I try to enter the dungeon, the game tells me I can't go down because there is no ladder?

Did I pick up a ladder the first time without realizing it? If so, can anyone tell me where it is?

I'm looking at my phone right now and in my quest book it says:

"Matras infection - Save Matras from the infection that comes from the cemetery"

Is there another quest I need ?

Can I Say A Few Things About The Quest?

So, I finished the Quest and through work and a bit of lurking I think I have solved most of the puzzles myself. By the way, if you guys need answers to things there are a tonne of answers at http://www.pdaground.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=40&topicdays=0&start=0, you can do a ctrl+f to look for most key words and you can basically find out most things there, or at catacomber.com. This forum is hard to look for things, some stuff may have been responded to already but I just can't read 25 pages of posts for fun...I did read at least 10 pages but I wanted to comment on The Quest to RedShift too. I have a couple little things I just can't seem to figure out and as a working girl I just have to draw a line and ask :(. I'm posting here because this forum seems to be keyed towards iphone players, which has the most recent release, the other two forums haven't been posted to for months and I thought probably no one would reply to me there! :)

I can't wait to play again and see some different outcomes to some of the more infamous quests and of course the end of the game but here's some things driving the hell of me (I really am OCD about looking at every single thing and NPC, and killing every gray square, but missed some things I still!):

    1) Was there ever any side quest added to deal with "coins," and "necklaces"? I know you added one for the silver box, now rusty box. That was awesome.

    2) Is there a quest to deal with the cult of Mithria? Most of the evil guys disappear after you solve the game, obviously their purpose is null, but the cult leader is there, and the rumors. This makes me strongly think there is someone to do a quest for; why add the huge mountain with no purpose either!

    3) Did I miss something...where is the Governor! I know I missed something somehow, I never did get proper confirmation he is dead, and after you save the world, his wife is gone from Skryven Tower too.

    4) I just CAN'T seem to find a way into that one room in the crypt of Mithria, the second-to-right side entrance out of the four--the door is on your left as you enter. Was that a failed quest I did not get a key for? I did seal the uncle dude's evil wife in on the far left, that quest is done, though I notice you can leave the door open on your way out lol. :)

    5) In the other dimension, you enter the first time through the mine (super spooky, I love it!) and view that one first room with the four teleports. You enter again at the end of the game and view more of the map through the gate. There is this area to the south of the stairs that leads to the Pit of Hell, visible from the main map, but not from the Pit of Hell map of course because now you're lower, where there are little spots of visible map, but no room that you can get to. What this a glitch or mapping that was never added? I was able to see these spots way back when I entered the room from the mine---imagine how much time I tried to get to those spots from the Mine! I noticed little areas periodically in The Quest where small specks of map were visible before I get there---one example actually in the crypt of Mithria, I can clearly see the the mapped room that is behind the locked door I cannot enter, the second-to the right entrance one.

    Some comments to RedShift:
O M G what a gorgeous game. I haven't had as much fun in an RPG since Morrowind. This game is THE definition of RPG. Just like a real guy in the real world, you can screw up, be evil, get in trouble. be misunderstood (i.e. sometimes you actually have to break the law to do good in the end!!!!), get lost, and to fulfill your secret mission you are plunked down literally on your own, to save the world with limited skills, no resources, friends and information----so INTENSE!!! I can't believe that people are dumb enough to comment on graphics and cost. People really have no idea what work goes into games and because of Apple's App Store politics people have no real concept of programming value. My hubby is a software architect, so I have a VERY good idea the 18 hr days, sweat and tears go into something like this, and we couldn't believe after reading about you on the forums, that only 4 ish people wrote this game!!! I asked him what is it like spending 18 months coding something you might not even get a real return on, and having people insult your art without even trying the game? Spending countless nights up late (as my guy often does to my dismay!) away from your girlfriends/wives/boyfriends/husbands responding to complaints, reviewing code for updates, implementing suggestions, even responding to forums like this for PR, but having people on the App Store say the game is worthless, too expensive, etc...?

The level of detail is...mind blowing, from the outcomes to quests, extra dungeons, things that go on with no real point (just like in a real world) to confuse and annoy you looking for a quest or purpose (we are SO trained from bad game writing in the vast majority of RPGs that every little thing and person we talk to has to mean something!). It was SO cool the easter egg in the game, to meet "Sylon" lol. You are much scarier than I thought! D: Anything that entertains you for more than 2 hours is worth a movie isn't it(~8$+)? What about The Quest, I must have spent 30 hrs to finish the game and the quests, and that was only the FIRST time through---there's so many endings and especially job types to try still! Anyways, back to the programming....I praise the effort you guys put in and sincerely hope you make enough money to make it worthwhile to port the expansion to the iphone too. You guys deserve to be rich! And it doesn't even end there, you guys respond to virtually all the comments?! You added sidequests after the original release based on concerns/comments of others?! I wrote a positive response to the Canadian App Store :).

I can only think of one small bad(?)/funny thing to say though if I might...The Quest world is so gloomy!! lol The NPCs are depressing, the women are materialistic and cheaters, the men are drunken jerks who visit whores, even the kids are rude and bratty---I'm mostly commenting on the NPC chat, gossip, and many of the side-quest's themes (everyone that dies in Freymore apparently comes back evil and miserable! lol). I'm not saying I want a change, just a funny comment---I wish at least SOME of the NPCs were happy and/or in love :).

Anyways, if anyone manages to get through my too-long, rambling post, I hope it's one of you RedShift guys/girls. Thank you for your hard work, responses, additions, and such a fun waste of time. :)

You were right. I had the quest, but I still need to speak with the bartender. Once I did that, the ladder appeared.

New update out! Great new controls, along with a better interface, screen layout (bigger landscape mode), and specific quest information.

Only about 1/4 done with the game, it was definitely worth my $6 (should be priced at $10)!

Latest update: It's on the mobile store now, I managed to update the game by "buying" it again. The update didn't appear on the update tab though.

Yep. I was playing in landscape mode but I like the changes they've made with the portrait mode. And I also like the new virtual D-pad - and you can position this on the left or the right hand side of the screen.

Another welcome change is that the quest information given is a little bit more helpful when you check the list of quests in your information screen.

A good update. And I like that it has not taken months to occur.

Edit: with the updated controls is there anyway to fix the virtual D-Pad so it is always on the screen in the set postition?
