I tried Aralon and put it away - couldn't help myself to compare it with The Qyest and all its epxansions. Maybe when I'll play Attack and will having nothing else to do - will try Aralon again. Or just go back and start from scratch.

One of these days I will purchase The Quest and all of it's expansion packs. Just feel I don't have enough time to devote to an rpg of this caliber. Am I foolish? Probably.

Have you tried the lite version? You'll get a few hours from that by itself, and can then export your characters over to the full game if it suits you.

HOLV is ready to go but we'd like to give people a chance to go through Attack---it's high level and follows about after HOLIV/Attack.

Celtic Rift--we're working on and will follow from Cursed.

Horde II will be mid-level probably.

And then something we're calling China will probably be mid-level but not sure yet. : )

    hi, I have a question:
below "damage", there is AC...What does it mean? accuracy? Is it good for ranged weapon only or for all weapons?

AC is "Armor Class". It represents the defense of the character.

If you have similar questions, you can read the manual here: http://redshift.hu/iPhone/TheQuestiPhoneManual.pdf :)

    hi,
i run wm6.5 on my device - i bought the wm quest game years ago and with some tricks it's possible to run it on wvga wm6.5 fullscreen, see xda-dev for those interested

elendil,i can understand that you left for the iphone market - but still the question if you could release an update for wm touch only devices? should not be too complicated and i'm sure lot of people would buy it...
besides, i found out that i can run the newer iphone-only expansions from cat's site too if i just copy the .pdb file to the quest folder

thanks to the developers for this unique game, it's one of the best ever yea
and the only RPG where i can recover myself outdoor by eating swiss cheese and drinking french gourmet soup:)

    best wishes
    np

Actually, it would be complicated to update The Quest for touch only WM devices... For every resolution the game supports, the graphics and layout of every screen had been put together by hand. It's a very time consuming process. It had been a lot of work to make The Quest work on the iPhone, even though the game already supported 320x480 and 480x320 resolutions. And this is just one way the game is very inflexible.

Originally I only had been responsible for the graphics engine (2D/3D) and nothing more. When our other programmer had left us and I had to port the game to iPhone, I came to realize that the game were programmed in a very rigid way which makes doing any change extremely hard. It's unfortunate, but that's how things are.

(I also don't have any working WM devices any more, let alone a touch only one. :D)

The world format hasn't changed much (any?), so yes, you can run those pdbs, but the game code changed a lot since the last WM release (mainly bug fixes and small tweaks), so there is no guarantee that it'll work in all cases, sorry.

I have a good walkthrough for Argimon's dungeon in HOLV! It's my favorite of all his dungeons and I painstakingly made it through----with just a little help---- : ) And wrote everything down---- : )

I am so glad I caught the Quest Gold at $4.99. I really liked the demo. This is a fun game! I love old skool RPG's!

I got it too. After playing some time in Undercroft this really feels like home, I've only tried it for around an hour because I have to finish a couple of other rpg's before diving into The Quest. Everything is ok, except the d-pad, I really can't get used to it. Seems like it will take some time do feel comfortable with it.

    The Calming Staff?

I'm playing HOL 2, and have talked to Mandy and found out who kidnapped Tari. But when I talk to Dara, she doesn't give me the Calming Staff. If I talked to them in the wrong order, am I out of luck?

Just talk to Mandy, Dara and Dea. The important thing is that you talk to them all.
