Here is the order they are intended to be played. The Quest Islands of Ice and Fire Hero of Lukomorye I Hero of Lukomorye II Mithril Horde Hero of Lukomorye III Escape from Asteroids Hero of Lukomorye IV Lost Archipelagos (Free) There is also a low level expansion, intended to be played by new (level 1) characters: Cursed Chess Set.
It's on permanent 'Sale'. This is not a half an hour casual title. I think 5 dollars is a steal for it.
The Quest starts at level 1 (obviously), when you finish you'll be around level 14-15, which is the recommended start level for Ice and Fire. The same is true for the other expansions in the list (they get progressively harder). Cursed Chess Set is a "new beginning", so to speak. The best is if you start a separate character for The Quest and for Cursed Chess Set.
Some of us are replaying the Quest from the beginning just for fun and trying to get through all the expansions playing with a handicap- I think we slotted Cursed to be after HOLI.
This is the order we came up with as being the best balanced way to progress through the Quest to date--it doesn't list expansions that are waiting release: - Quest base game - Ice & Fire - HOL I - Cursed (optional) - HOL II - Horde - HOL III - Asteroids - HOL IV - Archipelagos
That seems like an odd discrepancy that Cursed is supposed to be for beginning characters but also is balanced to come after HOL 1. Is it because of the high level dungeon that's contained in it? Also...any idea on when those new expansions will be dropping? My character isn't ready for them but I am dying to get a peek at them.
You could play Cursed either before Ice and Fire or just after it, depending on your character. It's meant for levels 1-16--it has a lot of high level objects though and some of us thought it might better come after HOLI. We're having an ongoing discussion about that. Asteroids II should be out soon and HOLV after that. We're testing HOLV right now. Asteroids II has been submitted to Apple so waiting.....
Sweet. How about those Celtic and Chinese legend versions you mentioned earlier? Also--I feel embarrassed to ask this as it's probably completely obvious and I've figured out virtually everything else there is to the game by now, but...how the heck do you eat food? Double tapping it doesn't work although that would seem the obvious way to do it.
You need food and water for resting in the wilderness (you can't do that without one portion of food and water). Undead need rotten food and contaminated water.
Ah yes, that's got it. I guess this means I should drop all my maggoty meat on the ground somewhere. By the way, where can I buy a "mark" spellbook?
save outside a spell shop. go in, see if they have book. If not, reload. rest 24 hrs. (3 times 8) check. Reload. Rest. Check.
Well no kidding...that is a handy tip, thanks! I have another one for you then--how do you get into the storage room in Matras to advance the smuggling quest?
Easy. Go to the cemetery outside Matras. Go down the hole. Follow the path until you reach a coffin. (The correct path has a cobweb over it) There is a secret switch in one of the alcoves nearby. Press the switch. Be on your merry way
Hm, I already did that. Maybe I switched it off again on accident. Edit: Wait, no, I missed it. Thought I got everything in the cemetery already so I wasn't bothering to check there. Thanks again!
I seem to have just found a bug. I was talking to the Amazon Queen and I hit the home button. When I came back I found I have no choices to answer her and advance the conversation. It's all just blank after "what would an adventurer such as you want here?" whereas before I could choose "I came for the farmer." I can exit the conversation with a "goodbye" but that's all.
So who is the programmer for The Quest, is it Catacomber or Eledil/Redshift? I would like to ask one of them if this is a known issue.
