Hey! Quest Keeper is really close to being finished...now I'm just looking for beta testers! If you're interested in trying it out and you have an iPhone 4S or above, please PM me your email address so I can add you to the TestFlight beta over the weekend
Thanks guys! I've added everyone who PM'd me to the beta. That said, I've never done a Beta test with TestFlight through iTunes Connect before, and didn't realize that you have to wait for the Beta app to be approved before it'll go live. I've submitted it but it seems like it could be a few days before it's approved. I'll keep this thread updated with related info
I've used testflightapp.com before, but never the testflight through iTunes Connect so this is new for me too.
The Quest Keeper was just approved by Apple for beta testing! For those who already signed up, your invite email should be in your inbox. For those who haven't signed up yet, PM me your email! I'm currently accepting requests from everyone Currently you'll need an iPhone 4S or better to run the game smoothly. To those beta testing: feel free to post any/all feedback in this thread!
I am testing on my 16 gig iPad mini with retina display. The game plays very smooth with no crashes so far. I have not finished a quest yet but am getting better at the controls. I feel a shadow under the character could make it perhaps easier to judge when to change direction. If there is a shadow, then it should be darker. Thanks
Same, no crashes and no complete quests. A very challenging game, which I like since that means it will last for a long time. I honestly think this could be a $0.99-$1.99 app.
Thanks for the suggestion! There was actually a shadow originally, but then I took it out because Unity was causing some unrelated graphical glitches when they were enabled. I'll look into adding them back in.
Ok, so with the shoes that allow you to take one step at a time, shouldn't those cost more than the shoes that only slow you down? Because currently they are both 250 even though the cleats are more advantageous. Also while using the cleats, most of the shoe is underground, and until you take a step you can hardly see the shoes. Once you walk the shoes will be visible, but they lookway to large.
Good points, the size/ground-interpenetration issue is definitely a minor bug that I will tweak! Thanks for pointing it out! As for the price, you may be right. During my testing with them I found that they had enough downsides to justify the price, but if other people are finding them easier to use it will be worth making them harder to obtain. Maybe an alternative would be just to remove the 'walk slower' shoes entirely? The cleats sort of make them obsolete. Keep this feedback coming, it's great!
Yay, I did something! Yeah, to me it would make sense to remove the "walk slower" shoes. Tomorrow I'll take some time to try out all the clothes and see if they all look right
Absolutely beautiful gem! I had a short go about 30 mins into the game on my iPhone 6 and so far so good! One suggestion though. It would be nice to have a pause button/menu in game. Even though you can home screen out to pause, the game would just jump back into action when you are back into the app.
Ah! You're totally right! How could I forget the pause button! This will definitely make it into the final version Thanks!
This is a very cute and clever auto-...walker with quite a few things to unlock. Costumes, not only for visuals. Shoes and staves with different abilities to get equipped for your tactical advantage in different quest modes. Gain additional (permanent) lives by beating them. Earn money in endless mode and/or reaching a mistery chest every few attempts. The best - this is a thoroughly skill based game. Keep up the good work.
