Can anyone tell me why this game is so fun in their opinion? For some reason, I just don't get it. The game seems ok, with so-so graphics, and a really bad movement and combat system. I might be wrong, so people please give me their opinions on this game!
The only thing I have to do in HOLI is the high level dungeon up north in the Giant's Thumb. Other than that I am all done. About the 100% disease resistance not resisting the new disease, you should do that with magic. Have some monsters with really strong magical attacks that 100% can't resist. That would make the game way harder. And for all my low skills, thats what trainers are for
Finish main Quest story in between HOL1 Hi, I was wondering, since I did not finish the main Quest story yet, can I take a break from HOL1 and go to the north east island to finish the Quest main story, then go back and proceed with HOL1 without problems? Thx
I finished the game, but now it wont boot. Running The Quest v3.0 on the Iphone, if I boot HOL1 it says v3.1. I've regularly had problems with the game dropping out & taken a couple of attempts to boot, just learnt to save more often, but now it wont complete a boot. Have tried at least 50 times. Any ideas?
Well i have to admit the first time I played the Quest I was turned off by the graphics, movement, and especially the fighting. However once I leveled up a bit, got a few quests, and tweaked some settings about movement, I really saw how awesome the game was. Now I have to admit the Quest doesn't have the best graphics and its controls can get alittle annoying sometimes but the sheer amount of content in the game makes up for it. There are over 50 quests in the base game + 60 more in both the expansions. Add to that to the huge world that you can explore, huge amount of weapons, magic, very advanced character customization, tough monsters, and all the other stuff I didn't mention, and you got yourself an awesome game. I must admit this game is not for everybody, it's geared toward hardcore players. Also what do you hate about the movement and combat system?
Don't know. Only Elendil can answer that. : ) I think the answer should be yes but with the base game update not out, I don't know. They might or might not be independent if you are playing with your developed save rather than the standalone game.
Congratulations! I understand what you're saying. We did it a slightly different way. With your magical resistance at 100% it's not really possible to increase the magical attacks of the monsters to anything that can break that 100% resistance. That's the way the editor is built--I have to go with it and find walkarounds. We did the best we could--and will continue to think of ways to make you weaker. : ) All your comments are taken into consideration and I will look at this again. Hoping to find a weakness. We found a few. And Argimon found a few more as you will see in HOLII. : )
If you're talking about the Quest base game--it is an old school rpg and Sylon wanted it to be like that--if you're talking about HOL expansion series --it is dependent on the graphics and movement of the base game -- give the gameplay a chance though--this is not only true of HOL series but of the Quest and the Official Expansion---it has a really good story imho and can give you many nice challenges if you like challenges. But I can't really comment as am one of the creators of the HOL series and I wrote the sidequests for the base game and the Official Expansion, so don't go by what I say. : ) We had a lot of fun making the HOL series and hope you have a lot of fun playing it.
It's harder than HOLI, so testers are getting a tail beating but it's almost done. It has to be tested thoroughly as we don't want any glitches. : ) Of course some bugs are so sneaky even the best tester can't find them---but we're trying. : ) We found a few little sellable items that someone would have sold and then missed for a quest--those have been marked unsellable. I can say that the testers are really enjoying the game. Hopefully you will too shortly.
And one tester found a bug that even Silvergirl in the original testing goround for pc/palm/pocketpc didn't find and that's saying a lot---so just think of it like this--you're being spared problems by having to wait a little bit for HOLII. Lots of thanks to the betatesters who are working in the field. You will get a prize related to each of them in the game. And if you would like to be squozen into HOL III, IV or V as an npc, just let me know. I can think of a lot of possibilities for Juicebox, for example, including a potion, that you could get if you are only a certain level. : ) I know squozen isn't a real word but then HOLs are also only real in imagination. : )
Cool take your time with HOLII, don't want another Silvergirl Robe bug. And yes that would be awesome if I was somehow included in the HOL series!
We are trying to be as thorough as possible -- Juicebox_R---can you pick an avatar from the game? : ) Can you also pm me here so we can discuss what you do in the game? Will take a look at HOLIII and see what's needed--we have pirates.
The Quest version 3.3 approved! Hi everyone! The wait is nearly over! I've just received a mail that The Quest version 3.3 has been approved by Apple at last. Right now it's still not in the (US) App Store, but hopefully the App Store servers will update soon. There are quite a few changes and improvements.
It is a steal because of all of the hours of happy gameplay. And we hope to wear Elendil out with endless expansions. : ) ) ) My moles tell me the Quest update is finally out. I'm so happy. : ) Now you can sneak into the Gates of Transport if you don't have the Nameless Spirit's scroll. You can access the Crypt. The Silvergirl bug is gone. : ) Oh, joy!
