@russian Thank you!! We're working on HOLII now that I'm sprung from Argimon's prison. @foxed Crypt is way up northeast of country --don't have game with me right now -- back later. But if you are playing with your original Quest save file there is a little buggy that doesn't let you go far in--Elendil had open feint problem with quest so update is coming. @rautha harkonnen : )
The entrance to the Crypt is in Giant's Thumb which is in the northwest of the map. You have to be level 28 to enter and you have to wait until Elendil fixes the Quest update open feint bug to get there unless you are playing the standalone version which is fixed. Otherwise the crypt appears as a very tiny room and it's not. So, am sorry, northeast is not correct--I didn't have the game with me as I mentioned--investigate the northwest. Northeast is good for killing witches and for finding a green rock that increases your xp by 50000.
Dungeons Two places that bother me atm: this dungeon with all the switches (ask Norbert, but wheretf is Norbert?) and these stupid booby trapped doors that you are supposed to unlock and that blast a fireball or similar goody in your face everytime you try (even with stealth & lockpick skill at 120+) - no idea how to manage that one this beam-me-around-scotty-cellar where there should be some sort of cyclops or what have you but i cant find any there nor can i find any secret corridors. but the owner female still asks me to clean the damn place?!$!"!& any help appreciated ;-)
Looks cool. But this is an expansion-pack, right? I can't find the original game on iTunes. Why is it so hard to find?
Because it's temporarily not available. Please see our website (www.redshift.hu) why it's the case and when will it be available.
If you need help with the switches just let me know. : ) Which booby trapped doors are you talking about? : ) There is no cyclops in that cellar--Forester Maxim tells you he doesn't want to come out of his house because of a cyclops but that doesn't mean there is a cyclops. He's just cyclopsophobic--most of the cyclopses in HOLI are very nice. But he is afraid there's one coming to devour him. There are Mithril Dragons in there and some sweet Unholy Spawns to keep you happy and some other higher level monsters and a castek so you can improve the sword Martelius gave you. Also there's a nice light armor with AC +20. Enchantable storage 1000. That's one of the higher level dungeons-as long as you are equal to or higher than level 27, he'll let you in as the monsters respawn and they're level 40 so you can level up if you like.
Thanks for your reply. I will try some more with the switches. I like logic conundrums... Trapped doors: they are in the very same dungeon with all these switches. I thought I might find this Norbert behind one of them but havent been able to open one so far... when I try picking the lock (chance: very good) i just get blasted with fireballs. And I tried a lot... thought its the stealth skill i am missing then but with stealth at ~120 its still the same story. As for the cellar: OK no cyclops there. But I slaughtered all these little fellas and Foster still asks me to clear the place when talk to him??? I will have to check if I picked up all that nice loot you were saying. Cant quite recall atm. Will one castek do for the sword? I thought I need a couple of items for that...
To get to Norbert you need the Blue Dragon Key and the Gold Dragon Key--he has a map of his keys up at my website in Luko I thread. Here is the answer to the 15 switch puzzle but you don't have to look at it: Since you started to use the switches, flip them all up and then flip down switch numbers: 1, 3, 5, 8 and 13 Forester will continue to ask you to slaughter those little fellas as they will respawn and you can level up. : ) The sword requires 7 casteks. : ) Norbert drops one--others are in the high level dungeons. : )
Hey Guys & Gals, Firstly, luv this game, great work!! I'm addicted for life. I bought The Quest, on my Iphone, when it first came out. Grabbed the expansion Islands of Ice & Fire & then ungraded The Quest. Finished all & then after hearing about HOL1 & reading some advice on having a better character, redid the whole game with a new character. Built up to level 26 (almost 27) before starting HOL1. The problem I'm having is I'm having my a$$e handed to me. The Fear Bats kill me in 2 hits, even with stone skin, so if there are 2 bats I'm dead. Also the Demonic Cyclops Mole take 95% of my hit points in 1 hit. Am I missing something? I can't even get past the exit from "tunnel out of Zlatograd" Any advise would be appreciated, also if my stats are not up to scratch. My Stats - Level - 27 Damage - 118-155 Ac - 93 Hp - 260 Sp - 240 Strength - 122(50) Dexterity - 60(40) Endurance - 65(40) Intelligence - 48(48) Personality - 40(40) Heavy Weapon - 93 Heavy Armour - 78 Block - 74 Heal Magic - 94 Env. Magic - 89 Mercantile - 74 Light Weapon - 86 Dual Weapon - 84 Light Armour - 93 Accuracy - 77 Protection Magic - 88 Attack Magic - 89 Mind Magic - 78 Undead - 0 Repair - 78 Alchemy - 94 Persuade - 84 Lockpick - 81 Disarm - 65 Stealth - 69 Available points - 85 Thanks heaps. Pete.
IMO your damage is pretty low for that level. Try enchanting something that also fortifes heavy/light weapon. But, that area took me forever to pass at level 23, though it can be done. Also, what's up with those available points? I hope those aren't ones you can spend, if so, upgrade with those before you do anything. And welcome to the forums!!
Thanks. Sorry, When I put the damage up I didn't have Master Short Sword equipped. I'm using the Redshift Hammer & Master Short Sword & do Damage when everything is repaired - 199-273. Yep, they are unused points..... I've been saving them to use when I can't train any further. Is there something I can buy or find that will help? Pete.
I've upped my - Heavy Weapon to - 100 Heavy Armour to - 80 Block to - 80 My Ac is now 95 & Damage is 205-280. I have 69 Available Points left.
Red and green doors Hi, I can't open the red and green doors right at the beginning and I'm starting to feel a bit stupid. Can someone help me please?
Blackie, did you get to the Magic School to get some of the items there? Those are very strong items! : ) Always use your available points!
To open both gates--SPOILER AHEAD : ) : As you face the switches-- Don't touch Switch 1 Set Switch 2 on Don't touch Switch 3 if you already played with them flip them all up and then proceed as above.
One of those gates will take you to Zlatograd--major city and jumping off point to most of your adventures --other one will take you to Melkovod Bay--a place with very strong monsters. So my suggestion is mark there where those switches are so you can recall your precious butt if you die in Melkovod Bay! But Melkovod Bay has its pluses--very strong monsters to help you level up whenever you want if they respawn and you mark and recall there. : ) And always keep as many save files as you can--you never know when some monster will eat you up nice and quick!
so im contemplating buying this but i was wondering.. what is the order i should purchase them in or how do the expansions work? im into storylines so i would want whatever order it starts at, being that if theres an option to start at any
When the Quest base game is available again in the appstore which should be soon-there was an openfeint problem of some kind--you should start with that and then play the Official Expansion (otherwise known as Ice and Fire) to develop your hero so you can then go to Hero of Lukomorye I (otherwise known as HOLI). The Hero of Lukomorye series is strongly story oriented so you should play them (as they become available for iphone) from I to whatever (we are currently working on HOLV)--also because they get progressively harder and the storyline in the HOL series is very important. If you started HOLIII without HOLI you would be missing a significant part of the story and you would probably die. But right now that's not a problem cause we are just testing HOLII for iphone. HOLIII, IV, V for iphone is down the pipeline. : ) Of course you can play the standalone games but it is more fun to start with the Quest and then progress through the expansions gaining experience, developing your saved hero and gaining precious and unique inventory items from each expansion. That's the way I did it. There are some spinoff stories from the HOL series, f.e. Mithril Horde, Tower in Your Pocket, Asteroids that we developed apart from the HOL series but they have their difficulty level in queu with the HOL series. Hopefully they will all be out eventually and then you can figure it out and we will help you figure it out. : ) They also have a story quality and are great fun!
