Hi Catacomber, How do you complete the quest without killing Norbert? I have completed it with my original character, then re-rolled a more fighter focused Norgur. Both times Norbert attacked me, costing me my Sainthood! Also, does anyone know the best left handed weapon in any of the iPhone released expansions / where to get it? At the moment I have only got a butterfly sword. I want to go dual wield, but without a better weapon it makes little difference, even with a +100 dual wield ring.
The Demon Star in HOL I is probably the best through HOL I (but not through other HOLs obviously) as it is min damage 35, max damage 75 but with throwing items if I recall you only have so many chances to use them. So then it's a choice between Knight's Short Sword in HOL I with 10 min damage 50 max damage poisons opponents 25% damage to creatures (a best item) and Master Short Sword in Quest Isle with 20 min damage 30 max damage +10% dual wield (a superior item). I don't remember in betatesting of original HOLI if anyone let Norbert live. I killed him. But if Argimon coded his quest so that you can't go back to the dungeon if you get his quest prize, leaving Norbert alive and then go back and kill Norbert after you get the quest prize for Argimon, you can be sure he believed it was possible not to kill Norbert and get the prize. And that's how he coded things. As it is, if you bring Argimon his quest prize and leave Norbert alive, you can't go back. As you can learn in future expansions, Argimon is a very savvy dungeon master and he takes good care of all of his dragons.
The Quest version 3.2 This about The Quest main game. We have determined that the version of OpenFeint included in the 3.2 update causes the game to crash on startup on iPhone OS 3.x. It is working on devices with iPhone OS 2.x. I don't know how could have happened that we didn't notice this (and also why Apple hasn't noticed this, they are supposed to test on iPhone OS 3.x), and we are very sorry. If you have updated the main game to version 3.2 (or you have just bought it), there are three things you can do: Try to start the game again and again. If somehow the game starts, find the "Settings" menu point on the game's main menu, under it find a button labelled "Miscellaneous". Under that there is an option to disable OpenFeint. The game should work after that. Downgrade your device to iPhone OS 2.x. This is a rather involved procedure and I don't think it's supported by Apple. You can find instructions on the net and I'll also try to help if you decide to do it, just write to Redshift's email address. Wait for the next update. Of course we'll correct this in our next update. More than likely we'll completely ditch OpenFeint, we are planning on including better options anyway. Until then, we decided to remove The Quest from the App Store. (It might not disappear instantly, it takes time for the App Store servers to get the latest changes.) This also means that HOLI will remain at version 3.1 until the next update. Once again we are terribly sorry.
Actually, sorry, I was wrong. I went through the whole map and looked again. It turns out that I've been to all those places except for the Magic Inn (which I promptly got to) and the Mithril Hordes. I was mistaken on the other two (I'd been through them but didn't remember the names). In regards to the Mithril Hordes area, I know you can get through to it if you choose the evil ending and let the Savirs in, since that area is the area right outside the gate, but I can't seem to get into it from anywhere with my good character (which I actually have finished the game with, with no active quests or places (that Catacomber listed) that I haven't visited). Is there anyway to get to the Mithril Hordes area once you choose the good ending?
It is a "best" item. So for example there is a blue vase in Cavern of Revenge that would have it if you save and wait there for it to show up--any place with "best" items. But that is one spot. Some monsters like the Yad Spider would drop it also randomly.
Talk to the boy Stoymir in Hospitality Forest in the far southwest but you have to be greater than level 23 to get in. These are the high level dungeons--there is a sign in Roman Numerals that show what level you have to be to get in: Crypt Gates of Transport Undersea Grotto Maxim's Cellar Savir Headquarters War Planning Room Elendil will modify the signs to make it a little more outstandingly apparent. : ) Sign outside Stoymir's house says Savir Outpost Level XXIV for example.
Going to those places and Norbert in Argimon's Dungeon (if you kill him, lol--but then you have to worry) give you the 7 casteks you need to augment Martelius' awesome sword.
to Catacomber Dear! How I can save you? I tried to open the gates, but without success! If I bring cap, I can't get dungeon second time... please give me advice.
Oh, please I am waiting! : ) You need the Strange Key from a pile of keys in Argimon's Dungeon--extreme northeast--there is a list of keys and places to find them in HOLI thread at my website. You also need high level of what Martelius in the Magic School trains AND you need to solve the Czech flag puzzle. : ) That's not too much to ask is it? : )
Waiting to be rescued. Do whatever it takes. Lockpick must be greater than 75. Note the little yellow font there that hides the number it will take to spring me! A spoiler. Lol, forget spoilers, it's 75, spring me! Dungeon is very small and Norbert tortures me with his horrible breath every day. Dragging my catly tail, waiting for you, the hero or heroine!
