I gave it back to the noble man, and got equipment and the quest was resolved. After that I went back to the lady, and told him that the murderer was caught, and she didn't respond back anymore. except for saying goodbye.
What does the Fortify Magic do? Guess I am always confused with those things... trying to get the book from the sunken blablabla.. those suckers are killing me..
Fortify Magic increases (albeit temporarily) ALL your spell effects. It's also very useful for when you start enchanting your own equipment.
I guess no break for all of us loyal fans who bought the original for 7.99 plus all the exansion packs? I'm just not privy to repurchasing something that should have been an update to begin with.
Ok, I enchanted a bow with +2 light weapons and I finally beat him. I always fought him melee. I ve read somewhere that he did much more damage from a distance but he did a lot more damage melee.
I don't know, I consider myself a loyal fan. Bought all of the expansions and the gold version as well. I'm more than happy to pay for this version if it means I get to support Redshift even more.
Give some love to the ammount of work that have been put into the remake. If not, why should they even bother to allocate precious resources? It's not like they are a big company with tons of money to spare.
If I spent hundreds of man hours recreating hand drawn art assets for a game this size, I'd want to get paid for it too. If you ask me, the price they're asking is an absolute bargain for all the improvements (aside from the facelift) they've added. I owned the original and ALL of the expansions too, but I purchased this remake as soon as it was available for iPhone. Redshift is a small company and they make excellent games that remind me of the awesome PC RPGs from my youth. I hadn't played the original The Quest in a few years now, but this new HD version has gotten me sucked into the world of Freymore ALL over again, and I'm loving every minute of it. In fact, I think I'm actually having MORE fun this time because I get a chance to start fresh with all the knowledge I learned from playing the original. If that isn't worth $7.99 I don't know what is. Just my 2 cents.
Same here.. Bought all of them incl the expansions.. Yes, it sucks but who know... maybe the other company is making the Expansions in HD too. I would think that most people will draw in HD and scale it down for games (in the past) now All I do is HD.. Learned my lesson making it for small screens and then for Ipad it looks like cr.p. But... maybe they didn't... Time will tell, or we can shoot them a message..
Nice! Glad you finally beat him. Once you leave there, you can return after 7 in game days to regrind it for more loot as many times as you'd like. It's an excellent place to stock up on epic equipment to sell.
Found some dwarves I was sad to see they are hostile I love dwarfs. So I have a question what is everyone's favorite card deck? I use the warrior and have yet to lose with it it's great for paying for my inn trip.
N00blet question Ok, apologies if this has been asked/answered I tried reading through this thread and that Resdshift forum and while some things were helpful, others I don't know if it pertains: 1) What do I do with all the books I'm finding? I read them and got the specials from them, but someone else said NOT to read them (then I don't know if they're useful). They're taking up inv space though and it doesn't seem like anyone is buying books? (only seen the first 2 towns... and the second.. I was arrested... so I came a-Googling) 2) I started a pure thief but he's pretty... lackluster. So I was going to play this like I did Skyrim. Make a mage-thief. Enchant some stuff and then become legendary quiet-boots. I picked light weapon, heavy armor, alchemy, environmental magic, appraise, repair as a Derth (I believe that's the one.. the magic one). I don't think I raise my skill by using it do I? I was pickpocketing people and didn't notice a change. I didn't really have a chance for lockpicking but being in jail, my n00blet skill was effectively nothing. 3) Even reading the forum, I am a bit confused as to what intelligence does. Does it effect skill point amounts or is it only magic?
All good points. I actually did buy it after all I have a bit of a tough time finding my way around, with all the locked doors and such, but this time around I'll put some more effort into it. I had no idea of the additional adds and improvements- I had just thought it was a re-skinned version of the original.
Nice! Glad to hear! As for improvements, yeah there's a lot of them! As I play I keep noticing different ones. My two personal favorites, though, are the dual equipment slots and the ability to put notes on the map. These two things were sorely missing in the original and it's absolutely wonderful having them now.
There's definitely lots of books in this game to be sure. Some are there soley to provide back story and lore. Others provide valuable alchemy potion recipes and tips. And then there's the skill books which permanently increase specific skills once read. Depending on how you wish to play, though, you don't need to hold onto any of them (as long as they're not quest items). I usually hold on to handy ones with alchemy recipes, but it's not necessary. There's also a power play style where you simply hold onto ALL the skill books you come across until you've increased all of your skills to max. Then when you read the books you'll have skill numbers well over the 100 max. I'm too impatient for that, so I just read them as I find them. Once read, though, there's no reason to hold onto them. If you need a place to keep all of your extras stuff, there's a wall cubby in the Matras crypt that has permanent storage. There may be more permanent storage locations available, but I know this one is for sure. If it's not permanent storage (i.e. a random barrel for instance), whatever you have stored in there will disappear after 7 in game days. Using skills in this game doesn't increase them like in Skyrim. They only increase when you level up, train them, read skill books or increase them via enchanted gear. Intelligence affects magic attack, magic defense and total mana. It also governs the total number of mark locations you can have when casting the Mark spell. Hope this helps!
Answers quite a bit. I just know what the forums say but I'm not really a min/maxer. I'm more of a play for grins kinda person with my RPGs. Follow-up question: If you don't level up by using skills. Let's use Alchemy. Should I save my better alchemical ingredients until I'm levelled up? Or do things "grow" back? Trying to decide if I go for gold (which means grinding) or just putz around and see what I see.
Plants for alchemy will grow back after 7 in game days (as long as you don't return to that specific area before the 7th day). I always make Alchemy one of my primary skills, so it's easier to increase as I level. I also enchant other pieces of equipment with alchemy skill so once I put it all on my alchemy skill goes WAY UP! This will allow you to make strong potions eary on which helps a great deal. It's also a great source of income too because some portions sell for a good bit of gold.
Tap on all of them. There's hidden stuff everywhere. Be sure to also tap on puddles, windows and any containers too. Pretty much if it looks like it could be something tap on it.
