So I actually just kept trying and got through it and I'm running fine now loving the game though I've never played anything like it but it's a ton of fun
Glad to hear it. Enjoy! (Still, if you happen to have a save there, before you got through, it'd be helpful to me, to track down the bug you've experienced. If not, no worries.)
I think it was the order I was killing them but my saves and backups are all further along at this point
After spending some hours I can say that the game is as close to perfect mobile experience rpg as it can get. It's suited for both short or long sessions, since pick up and play is so convenient. The portrait mode on iphone also works great. I don't know how deep the rabbit hole is, but I am already sucked into it and looking forward to The Quest 2. Higly recommended for any RPG fan. And there is not even the need of nostalgia for old games, since the game stands on its own.
I am in Vastares, because I took my time mixing herbs and exploring Matras day and night time. I think I cleared all quests there. If I got stuck I am sure going to shout. Thanks! And thanks for recommending the game!
Thats the best way to do it, cleat all matras quests which can be done without stepping foot in vasatares apart from the hidden treasure map, quest. Well you are in for a long epic hall as it gets better. What do u think of the card game? I love going to the inn on a dark stormy night to play some cards lol its so cool you are digging the game first time i played i deleted as i thought it was too hard! Lol so glad i went back to it, as its one of my all time ios faivroures.
Sadly i also encountered some bugs...one of them i was not to sure about though as i cud not remember but when i killed the amazon queens and rescued that alchemist, the book he gave me gave me no exp in alchemy whatsoever?
A few more helpful tips: 1) Buy the spell books for Mark and Recall ASAP. You can get them as early as Matras in the magic shop. You just need to save and reload before entering the shop, and wait until each one shows up. After you find one, you'll have to wait or rest 24 hours (in game) before you can try again, though. Once you have these two spells the world becomes MUCH easier to travel. 2) Be sure to buff Environmental Magic as early in the game as possible because it's going to be very important when you want to start enchanting weapons and armor. Once you can do this, you can create some truly handy equipment! For example, in the old version I would always enchant my heavy armor with Feather so it didn't weigh my character down. 3) I advise keeping Sohea's mortar/pestle instead of completing her quest to find it. It's the best one you'll find this early in the game. Once you find a Master mortar/pestle, though, you can return it if you want to. 4) The Sunken Monastery has some excellent loot. Once you complete it, wait 7 in game days and return. All of the treasure and monsters respawn, so you can get more great equipment to sell or use. You can repeat this as often as you want. Here's another excellent link for some more tips and tricks. Pay special attention on the making of an "Enchant Suit" because it's extremely helpful. http://linux.redshift.hu/forums/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=812
I was looking back through all of my old Quest notes, and found all sorts of great info! I'll share it here with you guys as I come across the really good stuff. How to create Permanent Gush Get you alchemy skill to level 80 using enchanted gears. Drink Permanent Gush(Every time you level up) Permanent Gush (fortifies melée, dexderity and strength) Mix one ingredient that fortifies melée, one that fortifies dexterity and one that fortifies strength. An example is power berries, fire mushrooms and rosemary. This also may work with only two. (It actually only raises +1 to each stat.) Fire mushrooms, Power berries and Scatter of lion fuzz flower (I've got plenty of these in the Matras crypt) Fortify Melee- Mix any two of these: -Wish Thistle -Scatter of Lion Fuzz -Fire Mushroom Fortify Dexterity- Mix any two of these: Permanent Dexterity- Mix any three of these: -Scatter of Lion Fuzz -Fire Mushroom -Travelers Friend Fortify Strength- Mix any two of these: Permanent Strength- Mix any three of these: -Old King's Folly -Lady's Slipper -Power Berries -Wolfs Bane
Oh, I just saw my note about the Matras Crypt. There's an alcove in there where you can store things permanently without them disappearing after 7 in game days. This is VERY helpful early in the game.
I like the game, although I only played it for 3-4 times. On a dark storm night it is really very cool. Lol
I had no problems on the quest. And thanks for the tips, macatron. I will try hard not to powerplay, but I never know what I might face. Lol
Macatron gave some REALLY good tips, but forgot to mention one thing: once you manage to get the spell Enchant, one of the most important things you must do is enchant your main set of gear with magic resistance. Try to go for 100% resistance if you can. It's a terrible feeling when you're walking through a dungeon and all of a sudden the game over screen appears. You've most likely been one-shotted by a spell. It's also recommended to have a few extra pieces of equipment enchanted with disease resistance as well, so you can equip those when needed.
Thanks! Yes, establishing a solid resistance to magic is definitely paramount! Excellent advice! I prefer making enchanted robes with a high level of whatever resistance I'm going for. The ones available in Mithria are the best, but obviously not available early in the game (unless you're up for a "Mithria Dash").
