Yeah, probably... I don't do that either I guess it's easy to say you don't care when it doesn't affect you, but I totally see why this could be bad for Sony's PR. On a lighter note: anyone getting EDF Insect Armageddon? It seems like there may be less content than 2017, which worries me... but at the same time the classic b-movie EDF-ness looks intact. I've got to buy it anyway, I can't miss out on more local co-op ant madness.
Gamestop's super pre-owned sale for all consoles and devices is now useless for PS3 >.< For me, anyway. I love playing multiplayer games.
I don't know if we even have a Wii U thread, so I'll post this here: Read more: http://www.videogamer.com/news/naughty_dog_nothing_wii_u_has_that_ps3_and_vita_dont.html
I don't have it yet (I've purchased a whole bunch of games lately, and my wife pointed out -- quite reasonably -- that I might want to get through those and trade them in before buying more), but I really, really want it. Finding out the environments are destructible made it a must-buy for me. Gamestop Canada is having a really good trade-in deal starting next week, so I'll probably pick it up then. Speaking of which, does anyone have any recommendations for games with destructible environments? I just finished Red Faction Armageddon, and I was kind of let down by how little destruction there was compared to RF Guerrilla. Now I'm eager to run around destroying more buildings!
Off the top of my head... I have no idea. Destruction is still surprisingly rare in games unfortunately. Battlefield Bad Company 2 is a very obvious choice if you're okay with the fact it's an FPS and therefore the destruction, although awesome, isn't quite as important as shooting someone in the face. You get a lot more destruction going on in multiplayer but obviously your attention should be more toward the objective than just standing around sticking C4 on walls.
I actually bought Angry Birds when it came out on the PSN. It's not too bad on the PSP, but it really loses something when you play it with a proper controller on a large TV screen.
Minecraft's a good game for casual players and for screwing around with. I wouldn't recommend it for hardcore gamers, though.
Hardcore gamers may find minecraft adventure appealing. Since they are user generated, there are all sorts of crazy hard challenges.
Awesome! I'm ticked. Walmart hasn't recieved it yet. :C Also, my local gamestop only has the 360 version. If Midian likes it, I'll get it soon.
Did you play 2017? It might be an acquired taste... lots of repetition and tons of grinding. I wouldn't play it on single player, it really helps having another person to joke about with. Luckily of course, Insect Armageddon has online co-op as well as local.
I didn't play 2017, but I've been looking for a good "couch co-op" game lately, and I love the B-Movie vibes. I plan on getting this for a fun, goofy, pass around game. And I actually LOVE grinding for some reason. I beat Rachet and Clank 2 three times, then spent a few days in the arena just upgrading every single weapon to see what crazy new weapon it'd turn into. Does it sound right for me?
Well it sounds like you could handle the grinding... based on 2017 anyway, the levelling in IA is different so I don't know about that yet. If you like the idea of it being stupid and ridiculously chaotic but also a little bit crappy (the pickups in 2017 were 2D and rotated with the camera) then you'll probably get your money's worth from it. It's great if you like a challenge too, I've put over 60 hours into 2017 but there are still a bunch of levels I've got no chance of completing even with a friend helping. The whole charm is basically that it's a bit crap, but in an endearing way. This is the video that convinced me to buy 2017 (along with the official trailer):
I bought it over the weekend, but I haven't had a chance to play yet. I'm pretty excited though! Also, RE: couch co-op, this is going to sound insane, but you might want to look into Phineas and Ferb: Across the Second Dimension when it comes out in a few weeks. It's based on some Disney cartoon, but what caught my interest is that it's being made by some former Insomniac/Naughty Dog guys -- AKA the people who made Ratchet & Clank -- so it might actually be pretty good.
