Or that I've picked up Modnation Racers and decided to finish it, and don't need another racing game atm.
There's no doubt DiRT 3 will be good, DiRT 2 was one of the best racing games and this looks set to beat it. The graphics in DiRT 2 looked gorgeous and I can't wait to see what 3 looks like. Do you think the game is played better on a wheel or controller?
I really wanted a wheel for GT5 but I was in the frame of mind that if I'm getting one, I'm getting a good one, and then never found enough money That's a long way of saying I'll be playing with a controller. A wheel must be a ton of fun but I'd imagine it's more difficult. You're right about the game looking gorgeous, I don't think the graphics in DiRT 2 got enough attention, they're utterly phenomenal, those jungle tracks make Uncharted 2 look depressing. I can't imagine it'll be any worse here, a few reviews have already labelled it the best looking racer ever (and with real trees!). I can't wait to see the damage either, or the snow deformation as you drive over it I love the idea of just hanging onto control of the car too, as though you're driving both at your own limit and the car's. I can't remember which review this was, but it sounds awesome: "The relentless breakneck speed of DiRT 3 requires ninja-like reflexes and the concentration of an air traffic controller; your ears, eyes and fingers working in tandem to process co-driver instructions or glimpses of a road map and then react on the dirt, snow and tarmac as your car struggles for grip. As you attempt to take every corner perfectly, shaving seconds off your best time or edging closer to a rival who started the stage a few fractions of a second ahead, you're only ever a twitch of the analogue stick from smashing head-first into a tree or rolling as your car catches a bank at the side of the road. Thankfully the rewind feature that Codemasters introduced in the first DiRT returns here, so you can travel back in time as if that horrific collision with a wall never happened - it also looks mighty cool."
That sounds awesome! I think the rewind feature is a great tool to use in racing games, makes it much more enjoyable instead of wanting to smash your controller when you crash at the very end of a long race. I got a Logitech Driving Force GT but unfortunately don't have a PS3, games look nicer on PC (and my wheel only works on that) but racing on a large TV screen is much more immersive. Also, some of the MP modes in DiRT 3 sound really fun! They took some hints from FPS MP modes such as CTF and the infected mode from Halo and put that into the game. It amazes me how they managed to put those graphics on a 5(6?) year console and still have it run smoothly, Codemasters is definitely king of racing games.
Yet the goal is essentially the same, beat the other racers. There near opposites but I still need to get into GT5, which is pretty tough for me. Eventually I'll get DIRT 3 when the price drops. I also ordered Red Dead Redemption so that should keep me plenty busy for a while.
I still cant sign into psn... It still says undergoing maintenance. Is there something im doing wrong? Ive received the email. Should i click on any links the email contains? All i did was read the email and try to sign in. If i try to sign in from the computer, it says server is under maintenance.
Sony is still trying to work out the bugs in their password-change system. Like I said earlier, the way they had it set up before allowed hackers to change the password of a PSN account using information that they had stolen from Sony's system. Give it time. They'll get it back up when they can.
It's not the PSN gaming servers that are down. It's the service that allows PSN users to change their passwords that Sony took back down in order to remedy the exploit. I was able to change my password before they took the service down again, so yes, I can play online.
Ah, face it bro, you're not as interested as you should be in what's likely going to be the best racing game of this generation and one of the best games of 2011 full stop Having two games to play in the same genre never spoiled the exprience for anyone.
um, i just got an email from sony entertainment allowing me to reset the password again. i need to fill in this form, and the first space it needs me to fill is headed "station name". what does this mean? what do i have to type in? where can i find it?
I have no idea what that is. Is it an official email? I just signed in, it asked me to choose a new password, I entered one, done. No emails or anything.
yeah, it was official, but now i think it has no relation to logging into psn, which is my problem. I have done the system update. Ive changed the password and waited a day for the email. the same day, the login system downed. later on, i was instructed to change my password again. i did so and the email came. So i try to login again and nothing. the "undergoing maintenance" text shows up. Was i supposed to use any of the links the email contained? I live in South America currently.
I dunno, it might be different in various regions or something. I just changed my password through my PS3 and got a confirmation email. I didn't have to click any links and it didn't mention maintenance at all.
I'm anxiously awaiting InFamous 2. I'm hoping it will be at least as good as the first. And, I saw a new Ratchet & Clank coming down the pike. A Crack in Time disappointed me, although a good game, not the experience I was hoping for. Maybe R&C's time has come. Sigh.
