*ponders* Interesting. I was already interested in Rock Band 3 but now I am even more intrigued with this Pro Guitar nonsense sorted out. One thing that will never appeal to me are the drums. No matter how much I set the lag and sound to and how much I try, I cannot play them. I can wail on the drums IRL, but for some reason I cannot do shit on RB or GH drums.
Yeah I'll agree with that, I own two real drum kits and playing them on RB just does nothing for me. It's weird, 'cause hitting drums on RB is closer to representing the real thing than playing the guitar is (until pro mode anyway), but they're just so plastic, have zero bounce and they're noisy as hell... totally just feels like you're just sitting there smashing bits of plastic with sticks.
hahahaah totally! It makes no sense why it doesn't feel so right but it simply does not. Bah. Oh well, not for me I guess.
CoD will just be more of the same, AC is different than the others but doesn't hype me up. And with all the great games coming out next year (inFamous 2, Mass Effect 2, Portal 2, Brink, Rage, Crysis 2, LBP2, etc.) I don't wanna waste my money on another CoD. There's a reason I got preordered New Vegas and will be getting Fallout 3 and Uncharted 1. And then I can always try to %100 Uncharted 2 also. That's the games I have until either Rayman: Origins comes out or Mass Effect 2 comes out. And as for RB3, I've never been into music games. I don't see the point in spending a ton of money on 1-4 guitar-controllers when just one will cost you more than the game itself.
Yah, the bugs and the fact it's almost even a reskin of 3 is getting it lower reviews. Ah well, I haven't played either. But I'm getting both
Man, I was hoping it didn't have a lot of bugs because some of them can break a game Oh and your name totally reminds me of Three Dog haha
You only really need one... I suppose you could get two if you're desperate to play with a friend, but the second one can be a cheap crappy one. The point is that it's one of the most entertaining games around, so it's easily worth a little more cash. You get what you pay for, I spent around £120 in total and I've spent several hundred hours with the game, which means I paid about 50p an hour at most. That's like iPhone game money
Got Vanquish for £27 with the Lenticular sleeve from ShopTo. Wasn't even expecting that. Let's see, 5/10 from the trustworthy source that is Destructoid *Eyeroll*... OR 9/10 from Eurogamer? Thought so.
What's wrong with Destructoid? That and Giant Bomb seem to be the only gaming sites worth reading anymore.
I've never read Destructiod or Giant Bomb really. Only when there's a game I'm super hyped about and I have to read every last sentence ever written concerning it. That said, I don't read many reviews at all. I trust Eurogamer a little more than most just because their taste in games seems to match mine to an almost scary degree. More often than not I just look at Metacritic summaries to get a general idea of what went wrong and what worked in the game.
Same here mate, I haven't got time to read. I watch the GT review and check the metacritic. There is no hiding the fact that AC2 is not a 4.5 and that ruins any credibility destructoid have.
Yes, it was basically the only review that was anywhere near accurate instead of a complete circlejerk.
They also said "Assassin's Creed 2 has tried all sorts of tactics to improve upon the original, but none of these attempts have worked.", which seems... wrong. AC1 was boring as sin, AC2 was incredible.
AC1 was so boring. I mean it drug to the point where I couldn't play it anymore. Never played AC2 though. Just never interested me to the point where I should get it. But I will one day.
AC1 was boring AC2 was the same game with a few more objective types that you repeat a billion times throughout the game. I think the Assassin's Creed games would have made better books or movies than video games.
AC2 kept me interested in the way it keeps giving you new abilities and tools/weapons throughout the game. Then it introduced the villa and all it's upgrade options, the hidden tombs, Leonardo's flying machine and all those secret glyph puzzle things, I was hooked on finding the secrets behind those. I really liked the way it opened up more areas of the map gradually as well, saving some of the most impressive and fun buildings until last. AC1 just gave me everything too soon and I was done within an hour.
I really liked the story of the AC games, but I definitely just kept playing to see what the next morsel was they were going to give me. I really like the universe and everything else, but I think repetitiveness is a problem that every open world game has.
