The tech demos showed a ton of great concepts that wouldn't be possible on the Wii, all we need is a developer willing to put some of them into action...
As cool as some of the concepts may be, none compare to 360s kinetic imo. I agree that move is a "second" wii. Not getting it, but i guess if you don't have a wii (who doesn't), the this is a good alternative.
Well it's the tech demos that would take it above and beyond the Wii, but knowing developers these days none of them will ever put it into action, since everything they do has to work multi-platform. I'd love to see an RTS on the PS3 using Move as a mouse, it's the perfect control setup.
The thing about Move is, it's like the Wii HD we've been waiting for (some of us)... P.S - No idea where else to post this, but I'm really glad Metroid: OM is getting good reviews. An 8 from Eurogamer is good in my eyes.
Personally I feel like the Move is a cross between the Wii and Kinect/Eyetoy. Because you can do body tracking (as a tech demo showed) and there's a mic and camera. Plus the motion controller of the Wii, but much more advanced. I'll be getting Move for sure.
I'm still holding out for at least one amazing game to be announced. It makes no difference to me how good the tech is, so far just about every Wii, Kinect and Move game looks like it was made for an under 12 audience.
Kinect is looking more than likely to get cancelled as a pre-order. Move, I'm thinking The Shoot may be worth a look. Not sure of anything else though. I want Child of Eden, but apparently, that is a long way off.
Umm, Move has good games that are compatible with it. Killzone 3, SOCOM 4, MAG, Dead Space: Extraction, Resident Evil 5, and Heavy Rain are some. InFamous 2 might be, it says it on the Playstation site, but hasn't yet been announced http://us.playstation.com/ps3/playstation-move/ under PS Move featured, so it's probably going to use it in some way.
Heavy Rain warrants another play through using Move, although I'm definitely not going to be repurchasing it. Also, Extraction is a no brainer, but I've already gone through it on Wii. I've got no interest playing games like KZ3 and IF2 using Move, I'm happy chilling on my chair with my DS3.
I'm interested in inFamous 2 with Move, it would work well too. Throwing lightning grenades and zapping the sh*t out of anything that crosses my path sounds like a lot of fun.
I own most of those games already, sort of. I'm not interested on some tacked-on controls for games I finished ages ago, I want something new made with Move in mind, utilizing it's strong points to provide a new experience. Never was interested in InFamous 2: Still Repetitive (working title) either. ...and KZ2 flopped too much for 3 to get me excited.
inFamous 2 looks less repetitive to me, the missions sound more diverse, but we've only seen one so far, and I doubt we'll be chasing down cars half of the game. They revamped the melee combat that way it's not just a zapfest (like most people say the first one was). Killzone 2 wasn't that bad, it was okay, but 3 looks a LOT better imo. My top 5 most anticipated games of 2011: 1. inFamous 2 2. Brink 3. Rage 4. Crysis 2 5. Portal 2
@Johnny. I used to feel badly towards KZ2 until I spend far too many hours of my life Platinuming the game. I'm left with more warm feelings towards it after doing that.
I've tried to get back into it several times, it just doesn't feel right to me. After all that hype too. I don't care how good KZ3 looks, I thought the same thing about 2 and was proved very wrong.
Reviews cave to hype. The game didn't do half as well as expected in the public eye. It's not the Halo killer so many fanboys claimed it would be, even I know that and I can't stand Halo.
I'm not really referring to the subject here, but just speaking generally, hype can work both ways. It could either get people 'carried away' with the hype and excitement, and they end up giving higher scores and such because of it. Which isn't exactly bad because they are technically enjoying the game more, regardless of whether it's because of the hype or the game itself, which I suppose is justified in a way. Or it can backfire and create a level of expectation that it cannot possibly reach, therefore ending up in many disappointed players.
I didn't actually fall for much of the hype, I only started looking forward to the game a week or two before release, but I still think it looked much better in previews/screenshots than it actually turned out to be.
