I liked Dragon Age, but like Eduku said: It's way different on the PC and the Console. I don't know why the company did this on the strategical part.
I'm still battling through Demon's Souls, ever so slowly. I'm pretty sure it's now in my Top 10 list.
After a couple month break I started playing Modern Warfare 2 again. Also been working through DeathSpank, now that is a fun game.
Only it bores the hell out of me with it's slow and clunky landscape traversing and repetitive combat. Spider-Man also had the repetitive combat, but traveling was a rush.
I liked it - the travelling was tedious but overall thought everything came together pretty well. there were moments of sort of slow paced gaming, interspersed with chaos... I can't do non-stop chaos - Infamous to me was very similar to borderlands (assuming you did not mod the save file)... boring times to get to a place, then missions once you got there..
Well, wait till inFamous 2 comes out and see if those things are still true. They upgraded the melee by giving him a weapon. Cole uses more than one hand to shoot stuff. The traveling was fun, versus just driving a car across the town. I loved it and found the only boring part to be 100%ing it, as in finding all the blast shards. Which I haven't completed yet, started a new file to beat it going evil instead. It's fun to rampage about and do whatever once the gangs are for the most part cleared out. Traveling will be much improved in Infamous 2, you glide farther, grind faster, can slide across walls, and overall a better parkour experience. Hopefully inFamous 2 will have a better variety of missions instead of 3 different ride train and charge up box and ride farther and do it again. Or go into sewer, get new power, restore power to part of city, leave. My only complaint. In other words... just found out about a Limbo LBP level. Called something along the lines of "Limbo, son of the forest" or something. Just search "limbo" and you should see it. But one of my favorite LBP levels, cannot wait for part 2. Dusted off the case and opened it since however long and put the disc in. I just wish I had a 360 to play ME2, Limbo, and Fable. By the way. Who is going to buy Rayman: Origins and Sonic the Hedgehog 4? They look great to me! Especially the art style in Rayman!
I'm enjoying Dark Void. I think it's underrated. It's not amazing, but the jetpack is a lit of fun and the shooting/cover system is pretty good. Visuals aren't too bad either. I'm not really sure why it reviewed so low everywhere... I'd give it a 7.8/10
It reviewed low because the main gimmick is a jetpack and there are barely any jetpack sections, plus you'll be repeating the same thing over and over.
Just got Split/Second. I personally love it. It's the only racing game I've ever got into and that is a very big compliment.
I tried the demo for that, couldn't stand it. The whole game felt scripted even to the point it seemed like it was limiting my own movement and speed so that it'd be in sync with the destruction. I expected it to be smooth and fast but compared to something like Burnout it might as well be on rails it's so clunky.
Yeah, I thought exactly the same when I played the demo. I didn't like how it felt scripted and the game just didn't make much sense to me. Burnout Paradise is a better game, IMO.
I totally understand why you guys feel that way. It's funny, you've got to remember that I am a 1 out of 10 in terms of being a racing game fan. So naturally this outlandish attempt at a racing game would appeal to a noob like myself. While Burnout Paradise may be notoriously raved over, I felt how you guys did about S/S when I tried that demo.
No one likes Burnout Paradise at first, then it clicks and suddenly becomes the best game ever. Seriously. I spent a long time just messing about online and crashing because the racing was tough and the navigation was near impossible, but then I started recognising landmarks, main roads and shortcuts then suddenly the navigation issue was gone and the whole game opened up and became awesomely playable. There isn't a single other game that gives you the rush of traveling at that speed while avoiding incoming traffic, obstacles and wrecked opponents. Except maybe other Burnout games.
