You've just acknowledged that Google has the answer you seek, because you know people are going to direct you straight to lmgtfy. So why not search it then?

The facepalm picture in correspondence to your post would have to involve at least three dinosaurs, dancing cream-cheese wantons, a nuclear explosion, and nine-hundred-seventy-four future episodes of The A-Team to be epic enough.

Alright I need opinions on a few purchases.

These games weren't exactly praised by the media, they're kinda... 6-8 rank games, so ordinarily I probably wouldn't go our of my way to buy them. But the prices are low, and these are new games I'm talking about, not used.

Bear in mind newly released games in the UK cost around £40-45.

    Split/Second £23.85
    Lost Planet 2 (and free t-shirt) £16.85
    Resonance of Fate £16.85
    Yakuza 3 £16.85
    Aliens vs Predator £16.85
Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3 - Ultimate Edition £16.85
    Need For Speed: SHIFT £16.85

Any of those worth it for the price?

I've played Split/Second, though not awfully in-depth. It's very epic, being able to trigger stunts from simple barrels to swinging buses onto opponents, so it's very hectic. However I will say that the driving aspect isn't great, so if you're really into racing sims, then that would be a concern, and you'd probably want to go for NFS.

Lost Planet 2 was apparently (I haven't played it, but I've seen a friend play it) good for what it was, however there are the odd control and technical issues, and apparently the single-player campaign isn't great so you'd want it more for the multiplayer. I'd say it was worth the price if you're into multiplayer.

Haven't played/not interested enough in any of the others to have an opinion on them, sorry. Although Resonance of Fate is supposed to be decent, different from the standard JRPG (which may be a good or bad thing, depending on your viewpoint). Its main selling point seems to be its deep combat system, which inevitably comes with a steep learning curve.

Right now I'm leaning towards Split/Second and AvP. Split/Second and Blur were kinda battling it out for supremacy and they seemed to end up fairly evenly matched... so if I can be happy with buying Blur at full price I should be happy with S/S at half price.

...and I want AvP because I'm a massive AvP franchise fanboy. I think that alone might justify the price even if the game doesn't impress most people.

Split Second is a blast for a little, before it gets dull and repetitive. It's also the most expensive on the list. It'll give you maybe (MAYBE) 5 hours of great fun, and then you'll never play again.
C&C is a steal. I would definitely try for that one. Same with Alien vs Predators.

That said, you don't NEED any of these games. If I were you, and I know it's tough, but I would just save my cash and wait for one of the hugest season in video game history, so you can pick up fresh copies of Black Ops and Fallout NV. Just my opinion though-none of these games wil lreally hold your interest for a ton of time.

Oh I know that, it's why I waited for price drops like these :) I'll still have plenty of money left for new releases, I foresee a good 10 or so new games before the end of the year.

Go for Split/Second John. There's a demo if you need convincing.

I forgot about demos... I might as well get the NFS Shift demo while I'm at it. Do I have you added on PSN?

If I get uncharted 2 before uncharted 1, will I be missing out on important story aspects? I plan on getting both, but I reeeealy need a good multiplayer game/long story mode to last me a while. Or should I just get infamous? Again, I'll be getting all these games anyways by the end of the holidays, but which one is the best/would last me the longest?

It doesn't matter all that much which Uncharted you play first, there is no direct link between the 2 as far as the stories go, but they're both good so make sure you eventually get them both. I'm the type of person who likes to play them in order anyway, so I'd start with 1. Part 2 is a better game overall though, and longer. Can't comment on Infamous I don't have it.

Deathspank is now in the #1 spot at Gamespot for PS3 games.

I bought it earlier and its much better than I thought. Definitely a quality game in all areas. The corny voice acting(which is funny at first) can get old after a while though.

If you haven't played Red Faction Guerilla, go get it. It only cost me $10 and it is SO much fun.

That was one of my first PS3 games and its a good game, underrated. The thing that drags the game down a bit is that it drastically switches environments every other level. One level you are playing in an urban street setting and the next level you are in the trenches of Word War 1. And those 2 settings just alternate/repeat. The urban setting is great, but the long WW1 levels are kind of boring and feel overdone in the game. I think the game should've remained with the urban setting throughout, with at most 1 short WW1 trench level.

Anyone hyped for The Sly Collection? The Sly trilogy remastered in HD with new Move compatible minigames. Sadly, I've never played any Sly Cooper games :( but am going to buy the collection when it is released.

Also, I'm thinking of buying a PSone Classic, hungry for a 3D platformer. Spyro the Dragon, Rayman 2, or Crash Bandicoot?
