Phew! Thank goodness I bought it in the nick of time. Do you guys have any plans to bring us future content updates and if you do would they be free or IAPs?

    Hiya!

There are ZERO plans for ANY IAP for all 3 Episodes which encompass the complete story arc for The Other Brothers. We feel this will be really fantastic value for money even at $1.99. There is no guarantee the price will stay this low when more episodes come out though.

If there will be IAP, it will be entirely based on feedback from gamers - they will have to ask for it and then we will make it on demand (outside of the intended full game - ie *bonus* content for diehard fans). But I repeat, it is not in our plans at present.

Like bonus pirate ship stage where we have parrots instead of pigeons and obligatory mafia -pirate hybrid enemies ?I would pay for that :)

99c for a huge pirate stage would rock. Pirate hat would need to be included in the price.

@SimianSquared: My post got buried a few pages back, and I didn't get a response, so I'll repost:

I would like to see a "butt stomp" move added (sort of like Yoshi's butt stomp in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island). It doesn't need to be a direct copy of Yoshi's butt stomp, obviously, but some sort of quick downward attack would be very helpful with dealing with certain enemies.

As for future updates, I'd love to see some brighter levels, and alternate outfits for Joe and Jim. Maybe each outfit could have a special ability? Just a thought :)

Looking forward to seeing this game evolves. Keep up the great work devs!

Sorry! It did indeed get buried, I am coding Episode 2 this week and have been very busy on (...dpad...) support!

A butt stomp that kills outright --- that is an AWESOME concept. Trivia: did you know the fat mafia guy actually has frames for this and was originally going to have AI that would allow him to drop down from above through the platforms and yoshi butt-stomp you? But it got pulled because I just didn't have time to make it, do all the QA testing and so on.

Regarding it for the player, I will show the team your post and let them think about it but in the form of a power up! It's time power ups got a good pass - they need to be exciting, thoughtful and situational. Let's see what the tob team thinks!

    Thanks for feedback.

"We aren't rich or greedy - for every 200,000 copies sold, I will only see 15k of it."

This made me laugh hard, some people here can't afford to spend 69p and this guy says he will ONLY get 15k.

Some people got to work 9 to 5 everyday to earn around that a year.

Yeah, and I'm pretty sure I've read that they've spent 2 years working on this game. What's your point, exactly?

Game development isn't a real job! All they do is play games all day! ;)

  12. Yeah, I think the controls are fine, though I support the update with more options and icade support. Really looking forward to the update.

Christ, get a grip will you... This game probably took the best part of 2 to 3 years to develop so it all evens out in the end, but possibly at a loss if it doesn't sell well for the developer, game development for indie titles are a huge risk financially to those involved.
Also your "can't afford to spend 69p" doesn't wash either, if you can afford an iPhone, iPad or iPod touch you can sure as hell afford 69p...

  14. I think taking the high road and rewarding early adopters will pay dividends one day. Doing a lot of what other devs are doing by shafting early adopters just ain't right, and they don't realize the support they lose from early adopters.

You are doing it right, and you are to be commended for doing it the right way.

You are a good developer, and are to be commended on being nice to us.

    Thanks.

Yes but I worked 16-18 hours a day for a year. 15k does not come close to the hours I have put in. Not even in the same ballpark.

[edited because it came off a bit too much like a rant, and for that I apologise]

It's also worth noting that even for the most basic of iOS games you're looking at an investment of $10,000+.

You guys are great. I'm loving the game.
I've spent way more on games I've enjoyed less. If anyone is whining about the buck or two they're spending on this they're idiots. I hope you guys make enough money off this to justify you using your talents to make more incredible games for iOS.

While I'm thinking about power ups, I thought I'd share some more ideas. You can take em or leave em :)

Toolbox (temporary) Power-ups: As others mentioned, I think the duration of toolbox power-ups should last longer. I haven't played beyond the first stage so the only power-up I've used is the wrenches. I assume there are more. Would it be possible to change the wrench power up from timed to a set quantity of wrenches? Say 15 wrenches per toolbox? That would make that power up more strategic. Regardless of what you do, I just want the effect to last longer.

Alternate costumes with permanent power-ups: I would like to see alternate costumes for the Brothers. They can be unlockable via achievement, IAP, or both. Here's my brilliant idea: Each costume should have one toolbox power up permanently enabled. So if I equip Jim with a "Wrench Suit", Jim will have infinite wrenches. If I equip Joe with a "Butt-Stomp Suit", Joe will have infinite butt stomps. And so on. This would be a great way to spend all those oil cans we collect ;)

Power-up Requests: I'd like to see a "Super Jump" power up that allows the Brothers to jump higher/further; a "Butt-Stomp" power-up that gives the Brothers a quick downward attack; and a "Power Punch" power up that gives the Brothers a 3 hit punch combo that ends with an uppercut.

I want a character named Jack, the cousin of Jim and Joe, and have him look a bit like Wario. He could be a good or bad guy.

Well go tell that to those who are tight fisted. There are plenty games where people say "I'll wait till it goes free" and when you ask why, their excuse is "can't afford it". If the game looks like absolute rubbish then fair enough but something that looks half decent people go ranting and raving that 69p is too much. Wtf?! There's a runner called Ninja Slash and is quite good but all I see is I'll wait till its free.
