3-12 and 3-14 were excellent. That is all :p

    Still busy playing.

Edit: The end of pack 3 needed a few goes to get 3 stars, the difficulty seems to be ramping up nicely :)

Aah, right, sorry, my mistake... I was working from memory when I wrote that, and it turns out my memory of the sequence was wrong.
OK, so going back and checking it again now, this is what happens...

When you first LOAD a level, you have a little zoom-in animation AND at the same time, the blocks "drop" slightly into place. But the dropping isn't really noticeable, comparatively speaking, because the zooming-in is much more noticeable.
We can't shoot when this block-dropping is happening, but instinctively I don't attempt to shoot anyway, because I am waiting for the zooming-in to finish.
More importantly though, I don't WANT to shoot IMMEDIATELY here, because I take a few moments to suss out the level. It would be silly to start shooting immediately before I have taken a moment to survey the blocks and decide which to shoot first.
So this works fine for me, as-is.

But when you RELOAD a level, the zooming-in is not there, but the block-dropping is. And it is here that I have to wait for the block-dropping process to finish before I can shoot. There is no "instinctiveness" for me to wait, because (a) the zooming-in process is not there, and (b) the block-dropping is so very slight and subtle that I barely notice it. Instinctively I *DO* want to shoot immediately, because I already know where I want to shoot, but I can't shoot immediately and I have to wait.
It's this slight delay on every RELOAD that bothers me.

To "fix" this "problem" on the RELOAD scenario, I would suggest either totally removing the slight block-dropping, and just have the blocks already set up in their final positions, so that we CAN start firing immediately. Or, have the block-dropping MUCH more extreme, so that they drop from much much higher up, so we can blatantly visually see that the scene is not ready for us to shoot yet.
These are the "elegant" solutions. If for code-reasons, neither of these can be done, then I'd say you need to "cover up" the screen with some kind of "Re-Loading" text, so that we know to wait.

    Excellent, keep these reports coming.

Great input Breatt. We have to let the blocks settle in so that's a given. What we can do and already did for the upcoming build is to really shrink the time for both the reverse effect and the time the blocks have to settle, making the lag a LOT shorter. We only hope it wont cause any bugs since the settling-in time is necessarily for the physics engine to work correctly.

    Very quick reply:

    Level set 1:

    1 1 1 1 2 1 2 2 2 3 1 2 4 3 1 1 2 2 4 1

    Level set 2:

    1 1 3 2 2 1 1 1 1 2 2 3 4 2 2 1 2 3 4 2

1 = Did it first time, no brainer
2 = Easy, but had to do it again due to timing
3 = Had to attempt multiple times and/or had to experiment to figure it out
4 = Harder than 3. Usually meant that I had not much idea how to do it right off the bad or had many many retries...

Repost from email, sitting in a hospital room right now. :(

I'll try to post more about "fun" right now I love the "timing" levels and hate the levels where she's on a square platform atop four posts. Odd that the first ones were IMHO more difficult than the last one I played.

Another thing naggs me: is Toshi a girl's name? The one Toshi I know is a guy...

I like the variety of music added to the 2nd build, earlier I thought Toshi was a little too chipmunk-y, but I think the vocals grew on me. I love how the dance floor sounds like a squeeze toy when hit. :)

    Updates when I can.

I agree that the levels where you're on a platform with 4 posts right above the dance floor are not very fun - too reliant on luck.

hey, sorry for the late feedback. just been real busy with things lately. I still have a few level left to complete but i just wanted to post my thought so far.

so far ive been enjoying most of the levels. I do agree withe some of the other testers that the levels where you are on a platform held up by four posts seem to be the most frustrating because again like other people have said they rely too much on trial and error. would like to see a little more variety with different element coming into play. the ones where you had to move the dancefloor were a nice addition.

I think the 5 level packs are the perfect amount to include in the game and other level packs can always be added in future updates. maybe themed level packs too such as xmas, halloween etc.

overall difficulty didnt seem too bad. there were a few levels that got a little frustrating because i couldnt for the life of me figure them out at first but i think its good to have a mixture of easy and more difficult level and there were way more easy ones than ones I found difficult.

I would still like to see different scenery etc because the look of the levels gets a little repetitive I think.
would like to be able to zoom in and out of the levels too to be able to get a better look at things.

only encountered one game bug and I cant recall what level it was on now but I had knocked Toshi into the water and because she slightly touched the dance floor it was counted as a level complete which obviously shouldnt have been.

overall I think the game is pretty fun and anyone that likes these kind of physics based games is going to enjoy this one.

Hi drelbs, I hope you're feeling better man. It's pretty amazing you still have the energy to give us this great feedback:) Very detailed input on the levels (THANKS!) This is great.

Toshi can be a girls name, btw.
It would be great if you can give me numbers to the ones you hate ("the levels where she's on a square platform atop four posts")

It may be brief, but definitely not crappy:)

Thanks! could you please give me the exact number?

Thx! Ill email you back in a couple of mins.

Hi Nick, good report that also strengthens some of the points others have mentioned too.
    let me reply to some:

    1) levels where you are on a platform held up by four posts - Which one exactly? I can really use some level numbers here

    2) would like to see a little more variety with different element coming into play. Cool. may I ask how far into the game you are now? (which pack)

    3) maybe themed level packs too such as xmas, halloween etc. Angry bird did this as a separate new app and I was just wondering what do you people think about such themed games that are sold seperately.

    4) I would still like to see different scenery - were still working on it (takes some time to create 4 new scenes), will be up on a future build (not the new one that is coming today though)

    5) would like to be able to zoom in and out - quick question on this one: would you like the camera to go back to it's default zoom every time you restart a level?

    6) I had knocked Toshi into the water and because she slightly touched the dance floor it was counted as a level complete - We thought it was funny so on the upcoming build This is no longer a "bug", it is now an achievement called "murder on the dance floor":)

    7) there were a few levels that got a little frustrating - level numbers would be super helpful, thanks!

Hey woah! Those ultra-long ridiculously-silly names that I "suggested" were not meant to be genuine names!
They were just meant to be exaggerated examples of crazy Japanese-game-show style names.
I would never GENUINELY suggest calling the game "Save Floating Platform Super Dancing Schoolgirl Toshi From Shooting Balls And Squashing Blocks"!

So, with that said (and if I can't vote for my own later suggestion of "Help Me, Handsome!"), then my vote goes back to the original name: SAVE TOSHI.
In my opinion, if the name is going to be longer than a few words, then it should be funny. In other words, don't make it long to simply try and *describe* it. So I would refrain from complicating it by adding "dance" and "physics" to the title.
I like the idea of having "help" or "save" in the title: They're great descriptive verbs that imply an action required from the player.

Just voicing my opinion here, but I really don't like a name like that. Think of a customer who's never heard of this game before, and they read that title: The "word" Toshi will mean nothing to them, and they highly likely won't even know that it's a name of a character. Is it a noun? Is it an adjective? Without context, it's totally meaningless.

Actually, yes, good point... I did prefer the name YOSHI compared to TOSHI. I'm not familiar with either of them, but Yoshi just "sounds" more Japanese to me. And it's also just sounds nicer.

So I agree with this: SAVE YOSHI

EDIT: Yoshi or Toshi... they're both just "words" to me, and I don't recognise EITHER of them as actual *names*...
So what I was wondering is, is there not a Japanese ladies' name that *IS* familiar and common enough for us "westerners" to have heard before?

Here's what a Google search brings up.

Yoshi is on this list, but Toshi is not.
