Has anyone else checked out Jhulo from this week's batch of releases? I've never seen anything quite like it, and I'm finding it really fun to fiddle with throughout the day. It makes me think of those executive toys with the little silver balls on strings that you get swinging, except in this case the idea is to have them NOT hit each other while they are in motion. http://http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?t=279638
Oh yea, definitely Zen puts out some really good fantasy-style pinball tables! I highly recommend the Pinball Arcade series! Perfect iterations of some of the best real tables you've probably played in the past! Classics! If you like pinball, check it out! Think you'll dig it! Arguably the best pinball in the store IMO! #
I honestly sneezed today and pulled a muscle in my back. Wish I was just trying to be funny but it's true...
Hey thanks, I looked at that earlier when you mentioned it but I thought gnomium looked really interesting so I tried that one. I just downloaded Jhulo and played to level 21 so far. It gets pretty disorienting when you get more then a couple of the balls moving. Any idea how many levels there are? For some odd reason the game doesn't tell you.
I don't know the total, but it's at least 100. When you get through level 50 you have the option of purchasing an additional 50 levels for $.99. I'm on 54 right now. I'm quite hooked!
That's one hell of a sneeze #. But seriously that sucks. So I have to ask, is the name any kind of reference to Wolverine the comic book character? He had a motorcycle he called Charley and your avatar kind of looks like him.
Ah, I see. That's a pretty fair price for the first 100 levels. It also has a remove ads for $.99 but I haven't seen any ads so far so I don't know what that's all about. Thanks again. I doubt I would have ever tried this without a recommendation. My wife is even playing it now.
It's so often the tiny, seemingly innocuous movements that can mess you up. I know someone who badly pulled a muscle leaning from her chair to pick up a pencil she'd dropped on the floor. Hope yours heals quickly!
You're welcome. I think it's really fun and different and I figured others would like it, too. I almost didn't download it and am very glad I did!
Yea, I downloaded the free zen pinball app earlier, which it turns out has all of the tables from the other versions in one place. I don't see one called pinball arcade. All the tables I see are made by Zen.
Wasn't even a big sneeze. Was just at an angle and poof, muscle pulled. That's what you get for being an old fart! Nope.. Name is a reference to the Grateful Dead and their song Mr. Charlie. Was a DH back in the day. I initially had that spelling way back when on a forum or something and lost my password, and renamed myself the same thing with a different spelling as couldn't use the same name and have kept this spelling ever since. Funny how things work out...Avatar is supposed to be a bearded dude like me. Nothing more.
Just downloaded it, it's not a bad little time waster at all, I like it. I've got to get a Newtons Cradle for my desk, I used to love those, I found the clacking sound very relaxing for some reason. Kind of like a metronome I suppose.
That's what I suspected. Ive been a DH since '78. I grew up in Marin so had all kinds of exposure to them and was able to average about 10 shows a year without having to travel.
Do you remember the good old days when a penny was actually worth something? When you could have a nice hot meal for a handful of nickels?
I don't consider myself too old at 40 but I do remember walking through the orchards behind my house to get to the local country store to buy penny candy. Actual penny candy! Nothing beats 100 pieces of candy for a dollar.
I'm in the UK and I'm old enough to remember half pennies, or as we said in Scotland, hapney. It was great, you could get loads of sweets for next to nothing. Them were the days.
PBSNellie, I lived in Contra Costa County from 8th grade until I was 21 and joined the Army. I never saw the Dead, but I used to go to Bill Graham's Day on the Green at the Oakland Coliseum. Lots of good times! Fleetwood Mac, Zeppelin, Skynyrd, Frampton, Robin Trower, The Eagles, E & J Winter, oh, gosh, so many wonderful acts I can't remember them all! Such good stuff.
