Two crystals down, two to go. Mount Gulg wasn't too bad, and the boss went down without too much trouble, even though my black mage was the only one pulling their weight. Having two thieves up front is really dragging me down. Also, it's weird how canoing on the river provides far more dangerous encounters than anything in Mount Gulg. One confession. After beating the fire crystal boss, I went hunting to see if I'd missed any treasures and got waxed by a dragon in one hit because I'd let HP run so low strolling over the lava... Still, my team is back now.
Ok, starting out. I'm behind you all and want to do some of the post game dungeons so I went vanilla. In my defense I usually run better teams when I'm doing a run of Final Fantasy and not planning on fighting the extra dungeons. Thanks for this. I've been meaning to replay FF1-6 as there are some in there I've played a lot, but some I've never tried. Here we go.
Late to the game but this is an awesome idea. Have a busy January but hoping to join in on February's GOTM.
Is it normal for my red mage to do 60-70 damage with -ra spells? He's level 16. I know that red mages aren't as strong as black mages but I thought the spells would have more of a kick to them.
27 minutes in and Garland has tried to "KNOCK YOU ALL DOWN!!!" God I've missed this game. I beat him and it's time to get the bridge. Oh, and meet the creepy dude in Corneria. Take a number dude, I'm coming for you later.
So I just rolled my 4 dices ! 6464 Oh well... This is going to be interesting ! (Black Mage, Red Mage, Black Mage, Red Mage) More updates to come xD By the way, last time i played ff1 for more than 1hr is when i played the GBA remake like more than a dozen years ago... I feel like it will be challenging
40 minutes in and I have my boat. But I've also hit a wall on Gil thanks to moving too fast. Have to stop and level so I can buy some magic.
Trudging Along at Lvl 18 My team hit a road block after the bridge was built because one of them lost the map. After wondering the wilds for a few days like it was Blair Witch we finally got on track and headed to the Elf Village. The good part about getting lost was that my party has been adequately leveled to face most of the challenges thrown their way. The Dark Elf has been slain, the creepy witch has her eye back and now we are backtracking through all the areas with locked doors to raid the spoils. The interesting thing I have seen so far with my team is in the development of the White Mages. I figured it would be the same but they aren't. One has more Strength and MP while the other has a higher Intelligence and less MP. Of course the Black Mage is the squishiest of the 4 but he also can pack a huge punch along with my Warrior. I try to keep those 2 alive while using my White Mages as Support. So far it has been working out great!
Hey guys! This seems like a great idea. But Final Fantasy1 has been going on for almost a week now... Is it too late to catch up? I'm not entirely sure how this whole thing works to begin with. Should I just wait until FF2?
Ran into some trouble on my way to Lich. First my whole team was turned to stone when trying to flee from the gargoyle bird things, so that was a game over. Next was an ambush by an 8 pack of vampires(?) who all chain paralyzed my team before I could take an action, proceeding to kill them all without me taking a turn. Not sure about that rng, seems like an odd thing to have in a game, since there was literally nothing I could do as it was an ambush....
Well you have the whole month of January to play through FF1. That's plenty of time to playthrough with us, hop aboard!
Finally, I hit 3 hours while doing some light weights last night. I could probably have done a couple more if I wasn't so enthralled with I Am Setsuna. Man, I didn't even know this thread existed until the article. Must've missed it, as I've been posting in the Reload thread. This is way better for playing along with others!
Did anyone else pick up the knights armor in Melmond? I did just wondering if that was good idea Now I got the great axe for my warrior I love axes Off to sages cave now 8 hours in When I get to a cave I simply pull the map up online and use my photographic memory to get what I need beat boss and get out Now realizing it's back to the earth cave soon and I can get past the stone tablet I still remember every step of that cave so all good ha
I ended up with two suits of the Knight Armor. I had enough for one set the first time I went there. It nearly broke the bank at the time, but it made my lead Fighter nigh invulnerable to attacks in the next couple of dungeons. Paralyze and Stone were the only real threats to his health.
