This is where I feel the game really starts, blew a hole in the land to get out to the rest of the world and light up this crystals! So far the 4 Red Mages are working okay, guessing it will still be a while until they give me trouble.
Let us know how that is. Strength should be awesome, I'm always afraid to have no healer. But I guess with all the gil you save not buying spells you can put toward potions.

Thought about grinding to get potions/gear/spells/levels for the Marsh Cave, but nah. More fun to live dangerously. I'll let you know how it turns out later!
I ran into something strange. My black mage is at level 21 with a magic level of 5 but I can't buy Teleport. I can buy the other 3 spells though. Guess I'll be walking out of all those dungeons. Edit: I forgot that Teleport is for Black Wizards.
Glad I wasn't repeating information everyone knew already! My neighbor in college pointed that out to me when I played FF1 on NES, and I found it very useful. I haven't played FF1 in at least 11 years (Dawn of Souls), but that nugget always stuck with me. I am attaching a screenshot if anyone needs it. My intrepid crew blew through the Earth crystal this morning. The Cockatrices in the earth cave were the biggest threat. Have at least 8 - 10 Golden Needles from Elfheim, folks, it might save you some aggravation. Lich himself was a clue that I need to get new weapons. The Fighters were doing 20 damage per round while WM was clearing 100 with Diara. I should sail around for new equipment soon. Now trying to decide if we want to class change ASAP or go to the next crystal. Screenshot #2 is immediately after the Earth crystal.
Managed to pull off the Marsh Cave at level 10 with only 15 potions in tow. Just made it by the skin of my teeth. I'll put up some screens later when I have a chance. Didn't capture as much of my feat as I would have liked to, as I was sort of playing under the desk while my students were reading, haha.
Oh, and my HP luck continues. My Fighter max HP values at level 21 are 382, 472, and 464. My WM is at 378. Needless to say, Fighter with 382 is getting the good armor.
So after playing this for 120 hours last year, 100 % and a backlog of 400 games, most rpgs and in the middle of FFIV I really shouldn't do this should I ? But oh well, I might end up doing it still. Or try at least. The rolling sounds so fun and I love the idea! Amd I have all January right? ^^
120 hours? Someone said 15. Oh my god! By the way, one of my new year's resolution is to clear my backlog. From now on I am going to purchase only must-buy games. It is insane the ammount of games I own and didn't even touch. Not to mention the watchlist here on TA.
Yep, this one runs the full month. Should be plenty of time for most, I think. Next month's selection will be a little tighter.
Not even I could take 120 hours on Final Fantasy, and I am an inveterate grinder. Surely 20-25 hours is plenty. I am going to be braver than normal, and try not to overlevel. Probably already too late...
