Just got the Mystic Key from the Elf prince. Now to back track to all the locked doors. I know there are some in the Marsh cave and Western Keep. Not sure about the rest.

Underdeveloped Red Mage update: 128 hp at level 15. #

Close to 5 hours in and here is how I'm looking just now going into marsh cave but I should be plenty strong enough to beat it quick

Is anyone going solo? What character should a solo player be using? I'd hate to leave that to a dice roll.

Maybe a red mage so you can do a little of everything?

Solo Warrior and Solo Monk are fairly viable. The only one I know doesn't work is Solo Thief. Solo White Mage can be rough going, too.

Like everyone else, I think this is an amazing idea! I've played through this game so many times, but never on iOS, I bought it when it released and stopped very early on due to being frustrated with how easy it was. So, that being said, I'm going to go for 4 Red Mages.

Do it! Do it! Do it!

I last played through FF on a 3GS about seven years ago, but I'm surprised at how much I'm enjoying this replay. Still a sucker for grinding. Was the virtual joypad always this annoying, though? I'm getting used to it again, but it was initially quite irritating. Maybe it's because of the borders on an iPhone 6.

I have never played a Final Fantasy game before, but this idea and thread just made me take the plunge. Not like I don't have 60 other iPad games to play. Downloading now.

So, here's my party. I chose a standard mix of characters, with a defensive/healing magic user rather than an offensive one. They are named after my three kids and me (typical when I play RPGs that have a group of four).

Didn't this originally say Erdrick (from Dragon Warrior/Quest), I feel like it did, because I remember this blowing my mind when I was a kid because Dragon Warrior was my first RPG, followed immediately by Final Fantasy (best Christmas ever).

About to enter the western keep (ancient castle)
I'm leveled up enough that it should be no problem
I'm guilty of when I get to a dungeon I look the map up online only cuz I don't want to get lost for a long time wasting time and I want to get everything possible :)

Oh yay I forgot this isn't a dungeon really just a boss fight

I beat Astos really quickly but he did get my warrior with the deal spell but I have like 6 Phoenix downs so all good there
I have 29 potions... which for me is low
On all final fantasy games I like to carry tons of potions sometimes 50 or more by this point I should have that many but I'm being a bit lazy here and there ha
So when facing Astos make sure to have a Phoenix down or two because he may toss out death

This is going to sound dumb. How do I do a solo run? Do I just simply start with 4 and let three die?

You need to go see Matoya (across the bridge at the beginning of the game) give her the crystal, she will give you the potion, which you will take back to the Elven King, who will then give you the key. Hope this helps.
