Yeah, it's weird. I fell out of love with Nintendo a while ago. I think the peak of my love was probably during the GBA's life. I'm sure if I hadn't sold my DS, I would have enjoyed it as well. But that's when iOS fell into my life. But now, with the ability to stream my PS4 through the Vita, it's incredible thinking that I'll be able to play FFXV, FF Type=0 HD, and WoFF on the Vita, but have it be my main saves. If Nintendo could offer me Final Fantasy on top of the Dragon Quests and Monster Hunters, I probably would be able to find a place for the Switch. But man, without main FF games coming to it, I doubt I'd have time to play it anyway. It's probably easier on my pocketbook anyway, since I'd only be interested in Zelda and Metroid (if a Prime-like experience ever surfaces). Other than those, Nintendo's DQ11 plans for the 3DS look amazing. But again, I can't really justify buying a new console for one game. But I can't wait to watch others have a blast with both DQ11 and the Switch. I bet it'll be fun! I'd just be happy to get a NES Classic if they'd ever ship more.
I think that's the main difference for me: I have never owned any Nintendo consoles before, so it opens up a whole new library of games to me, famously excellent games, which is very exciting. If you had owned a series of Nintendo consoles before, then you've only got the early Switch titles to get excited about - and let's face it, there isn't that much. Xenoblade 2, Zelda and, eventually, a Fire Emblem game. Elder Scrolls, I suppose, if you're stretching. Still, when the games are £60 a pop, you only need two or three to begin with. Not giving up iOS though - what a library we have now!
Yep Dankrio we will be saying goodbye to a good many games I'm afraid Anything older for sure unless it's been properly updated Isn't it anything 32 bit will be gone?
That is sadly so true - but I'm still on iOS 9 and not updating any time soon. Need a VERY good reason to do so.
If you're an RPG lover and don't own both a Vita and a 3DS, you're seriously missing out. Vita more for archival and cross-platform stuff, but depending on your tolerance for moe, you might find a lot of decent original stuff, too.
I just wish Square-Enix and Sony would release a North American/Europe version of the four Chaos Rings games either on cart or digitally for the Vita. I'd be happy to buy it again and not have to worry about them breaking and disappearing.
If you own a PS4 or Xbox one here is some good news on March 1st a free Final Fanatsy XV retro style beat em up game will be available and this has me thinking surely this would be great on mobile It's like final fantasy XV meets double dragon and I must admit will picking this up for sure! http://www.gamespot.com/articles/final-fantasy-15s-retro-themed-beat-em-up-will-be-/1100-6448093/?ftag=GSS-05-10aaa0a Here is the info link
Yeah, I saw that on Nova Crystalis. I had tweeted them a while ago that I'd love to buy it on PS4. Getting it free is even better! Maybe they'll update the Chaos Rings games and give those away too! But in the meantime A King's Tale looks like a fun diversion from XV.
Yes, that's the hard part! Also forgot Suikoden!! Both I and II. Cold Steel if I didn't mention it. I have 22 rpg's on it, forgot Sega Mega Drive Collection too, my BIG love (Phantasy Star). And then I haven't counted the individual games in collections and I'm still lacking Atelier, Cold Steel II, FF I and II. So yeah pretty crazy rpg collection to have on one device!
Even though Vita is near the end of it's cycle I have it for the rpg's that's come out, not for those who hasn't. And they won't dissapear even though it gets ditched. I thougt so too, but now if you want Persona series, Suikoden or Cold Steel and also like Final Fantasy or Phantasy Star then I feel like it's totally worth it.
Shaun or anyone else who has played it, curtis you may know would you recommend Sonny now that it's only $1 or should i pick up Lanota instead both genres i like and only $1... might just grab both but interested in the response
Final Fantasy record keeper Japan version just added a Type O event with characters and weapons Glad I saved up
Man, wish these events happened both in Japan and here in the US at the same time. I haven't played either Sonny or Lanota, but Lanota didn't look like my kind of thing. But it looks well-done! And Sonny reminds me of a premium zombie version of Avengers Alliance... which has to be a good thing. Crazy how big it is.
Nothing to do with mobile, and I think most of you here know about it, but I write about non-mobile games over at my blog Post Game Content. Today, the last article in my series on Quintet's Super NES RPGs is up. These are lengthy RPG Reload-style looks at ActRaiser, ActRaiser 2, Soul Blazer, Illusion of Gaia, and Terranigma. RPG Reload fans will probably enjoy reading the series. The first article is here: Post Game Content's Quintet Spotlight.
If you like Shaun's writing, you owe it to yourself to check this out. There are some really great articles and if you support Shaun on Patreon, you get early access to them.
