Shaun I've been playing type o on Xbox one some today and that brought me to a question do we know if the mobile version that's supposed to be coming soon called type o online is it the same or a diff version
The online part to it made me think characters will be there overall gameplay a bit diff and even possibly FTP But i wasn't sure thanks I actually like the wide variety of characters and mixing up with parties that you can do on type o The names themselves eight,nine, queen etc are a bit goofy ha
Hate everyone in FFVIII? I think there's a good case made -- by the game -- for hating Squall from the beginning, but it seems to me that the game is the story of his progression from an aloof and pretentious loner to someone worthwhile and likable. Or to put it another way: from being a stale anime stereotype to being a fully developed and interesting character.
I'm thinking my favorite character might be Tifa. Or maybe Red XIII. Hm. I don't have that strong of a connection to the characters in VII. Not like X where Yuna is my favorite.
I don't feel like they do a good job of showing his transition from jerk to nice guy. It's pretty much a light switch moment, something Final Fantasy indulges in far too often. Square eventually did that story right in TWEWY, but I just didn't buy it in FF8. As for the others: Zell is almost fine, but he's just a bit over the top genki for my liking. Probably my favorite of the younger cast, though. Quistis is an absolute waste of a character. All she has is that she moons over Squall for hard-to-determine reasons. After about an hour, it's clear Squall isn't interested in her. She falls by the wayside early on and does next to nothing for the rest of the game. Irvine has a lot of potential, but he makes little sense as a character. He's a sniper, but he can't pull the trigger? Like the rest of the cast save Squall and Rinoa, he ceases to have any importance soon after being introduced, leaving his highlight moment as him botching the plan and putting everyone's life at risk, something that is never properly addressed afterwards. Selphie is my least favorite character in the entire Final Fantasy series. Obnoxious, overly-energetic, full of stupid ideas that almost always serve to drag the plot to a standstill, and like the others, stops doing anything important far too early. Other FFs have this character type, but they're all much more interesting than Selphie. Rinoa is probably the most important character in the game. You need to buy that she is great enough to turn Squall around, and I'm sorry, I just don't see it. She's obviously using him early on, and I didn't see anything to support the affection the two develop for each other. She's also ridiculously bland as a character. It doesn't help that she gets sucked into the absurd main plot and has to serve as a hostage so frequently. Another victim of FF8's tell-don't-show approach to storytelling. I'll write about why I love Laguna so much later, but suffice it to say, I'd love to see his game if SE is ever inclined to make it.
Nice job Shaun i did not realize Ito one of the designers for TWEWY was also th same guy who created the ATB battle system I love the ATB I figured there was some connection to people working on TWEWY also working on FF games but didn't realize just how deep until I read up after reading this That's really cool explains why TWEWY is one of my all time favorite RPGs

Awesome news! Hopefully we also get Ace Attorney 6 on iOS as well. Or at least a port of Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth.
I guess I'm just a sucker for the "redemption through love" thing -- the ending, with Squall alone in the desert, but then being saved by Rinoa's appearance. Classic! Well, at least we agree on a favorite character! I love laid-back heroes. He kinda reminds me of Red Savarin from Solatorobo.
Just goes to show, you can't write off Capcom entirely. They take their time, and appear to show little interest in mobile, then boom - updates, new game, whatever. They continue to surprise. Can we see Okami on iOS now, please? And Dailon, you must have played Breath of Fire 6. Any good? Got some pretty ropey Metacritic reviews, I think.
I have played it a lot def a FTP game with typical mechanics involved. I love Breath of Fire so I can tolerate it but i want a real Breath of Fire game. Similar to MH Explore, very similar.
Don't you love how the App Store if you go over the amount on your card (yes I finally did) won't allow you to simply update a game or get a free game when none of that involves money Not a problem w my Japan account seeing as I can select none for payment and just use cards I buy online But us App Store not the same I will get it all straight soon but damn why lock me out of the shit I bought outright so stupid. So anyways I have been back playing DQIII a ton and its a masterpiece just reeks of total awesomeness. Retro look, kick ass party customizations, and so much more everything about this game is great!

Don't know why it didnt occur until yesterday that with my Japan app store account i can download FF Record Keeper and get a game going on there too. I will say right off because it's further along it has more characters available and the events are different of course. It's more generous too with gifts! I like this game enough to have two diff games going!
