Post no.1,001 (thought it was 1000) had to do it
Happy gaming RPG fans and thanks Shaun for dropping in on us every now and again!
I know this is the reload thread but I'm glad Shaun doesn't mind us posting about RPG gaming in general and I love having a space to share my fun with FF and DQ games with others.

Reload does rock! I have got quite a few RPGs after residing about them on reload and some I would've missed otherwise.

Hoping today I can finally watch Final Fantasy XV movie! I've had a chaotic week. Im a program director dj for a radio station and we have been slammed this week :)
All goes well tonight I should have a chance to watch it and I will leave my thoughts on it for those who haven't seen it without giving anything away. A simple thumbs up or down. But considering I still watch spirits within its a given I will like anything final fantasy haha
Although I must say when watching spirits within in 3D with my VR headset it is way better. I also bought final fantasy vii advent children movie and haven't seen it yet.

Here's another three cheers to the RPG Reload and its thread. Or should that be 1,000-plus cheers?

Bought Avernum the other day, purely based on the Reload recommendation. I have absolutely no idea when I'll sit down to play it, but I have decided September must be a month of long games only. No more Sky Force or 868-HACK or similar quickfire games for 30 days!

I really want to watch it too. But we don't have a PS4 yet, so I don't know if I'll want to yet. But there's a 3-pack of all FF movies on sale at VUDU, so I may grab it now anyway. I've been meaning to get the other two in digital form since I rarely use DVDs anymore.

What's all the hype about Jade Empire??

It was one of the most disappointing game i ever played.... after more than 90hr the ending was just... offending... second only to SoulReaver...
Thinking about it now... as much i loved the game from start to final fight.... it makes me cringe and never wanting to feel something like that again...

I wonder if any of you actually finished the game... or just remember playing it (wich was great).

Here is a good question to throw out
When playing RPGs like DQ as a good example and you have to name the hero what names do you use most and do you use your real name?
I do not use my real name ever I always use either the name Yuji or Yuri :)

I totally prefer using the character's real name in most games, but for DQ where I have to name a character, I might go with a nickname of mine. Shides. Or I may use Loto, Hero, or in the case of DQ III, Abel.

I legit do not know how it's possible to spend 90 hours on Jade Empire. The average clear time on that game is something like 13 hours. I beat the iOS version in around 10 hours.

I think it's still a good game, and relative to the rest of the iOS market, it's excellent. Not without its faults, and that IGN 9.9 is still one of the most baffling scores I've seen any site give, but I could easily list dozens of worse games at the drop of a hat. Ending sucks, but that's Bioware for you. It's something they still suck at.

Great question! No, I never use my real name either. Depends on how many letters you're allowed, but I always used to use Fly, dating back from when arcade games only allowed three letters on scoreboards. Lately, however, I've been using Bebop. As Gang Starr would say, it's a jazz thing. And, for me, also a Shinichiro Watanabe thing.

I'm with you if a name is given like FF I always go with it no matter how much I don't like it
    Looking at you Sol haha

I over-exagerate about gaming time, obv. I admit i don't even recall how much it was at the time... i played it when it came out for XBOX 10 years ago. I remember well enjoying every part of the game and how much the ending hurt... but yea... that's Bioware.

I use Winter if there isn't a pre-set name. With FF the names are a part of the story and I haven't played them all through so no goofy names.

    Winter that makes sense :)
Wish it was winter here it's major hot over 100F
Yeah I thought about this because DQ games usually always make you name the hero
Yuji comes from Dragon Quest in the intro part you always see his name :) so that's how that came about for me and
Russian cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin is where Yuri comes in
    I love space history
