Actually, FF8 should be smaller than FF9, especially the iOS version of FF9. It's bigger than FF7, though. As for what the hold-up could be, I have only a few guesses. 1) They're trying to decide between an FF9-style remake or an FF7-style port of the PC version. The former earned them a lot of praise, and with FF8 lacking the cultural cachet of FF7, they might be interested in doing whatever they can to please people. 2) It's coming, we just don't know about it yet. Likely, I think, but it's hard to say because of (3). 3) They're having difficulty getting rights to Eyes On Me by Faye Wong. This song was conspicuous by its absence from the Theatrhythm games, replaced by the abbreviated "Ending Theme", and I believe I've heard there are problems with licensing the full song. It wasn't a problem on PSN or PC since those were technically re-issues of an existing product, and the same could be said for the version they were streaming on DiveIn for a while. But a mobile version could conceivably be considered a new platform, requiring new contracts and so on. If this is the case, they'd have to remake the game and somehow replace the vocal versions of the song, which might be seen as prohibitively costly for what is generally one of the less-liked Final Fantasy installments. Whatever is going on, I'm sure we'll see it eventually.
My day is made now thanks Shaun For some reason I thought it had been put out there it wasn't happening don't know why I thought that way so I'm glad to hear it's still possible and would be so awesome! Now what game is featured on Saturday morning RPG this weekend?
I also agree that it will be more a surprise release like we saw with part IX which I enjoy a lot Wish vii has received better treatment but hey can't complain it's still a ton of fun as it always was back in the day and I still play my ps2 version some I have a saved game on both I play on now for vii
I don't feel organised at all right now lol. Probably have 15 games in play, but since I make progress it's okay right? I have been really mood plying right now and it has switched a lot. I believe fully we will get it and I truly hope it is FFIX port quality! But yes, it is exellent on Vita. I want to get into Record Keeper if I quit Unchained ever. I feel like I don't have time for too many and catching up on my awesome rpg backlog. There's almost too many great games in the world and we still want the new ones too lol.
Mood playing is a great way to describe what I do almost all of the time! Great term. Currently, I have all 3 FF F2P games and I find myself playing them very little. Mostly opening them daily for rewards. I'll play VI, VII, & IX off and on. Currently, I'm playing a lot of Football (soccer) RPG-like games. EPL season just started!
It is okay then ^^ I feel like I'm all over sometimes when I play too many, but I will read or watch another gamer play something or talk about it and then I want to play it too. Today I have been making progress in Chrono Trigge which is nice. 21 hours into it now.
EPL yes love this time of year Zlatan playing in EPL this year makes it extra good and he showed today why ha my fav player for years now No good football games to play right now unfortnately Active soccer 3 and sociable soccer will be good I agree that's best way to describe it for me too I mood play and that can vary day to day
I'll still dabble in New Star Soccer. And I love Football Manager Mobile. And they're both variations on the RPG genre. Looking forward to the new round of FM games, just wish MLS was in FMM. Sure wish we could have a proper premium Inazuma 11 on the App Store.
Dailon: I'll be continuing my wrap-up of Final Fantasy 6 tonight. Not sure if I'm going to put around with side content or just go for the last boss's throat. Either way, should be good times.
Good times for sure I love watching you play vi VI to me is a tough game I think it's one of the more difficult ones Okay so which Final Fantasy game of the numbered series ones on mobile do you think is hardest
I always want to watch these, but I guess I should finish it first. Watching the end boss is as spoilerific as it gets.
Well, 'hard' isn't really an adjective I associate with Final Fantasy after the NES games, and even the NES games have been made a lot easier in their remade forms. I guess I'd go with Final Fantasy 3 or maybe Final Fantasy 4 if you play it on the default DS difficulty (which I think on mobile is 'hard' mode). FF1/2 are jokes, FF5 is incredibly easy to break, FF6 is almost impossible to not break, and 7/9 are both a piece of cake as long as you're sticking to the main route.
Curtis, you do know that Inazuma 11 is on the way to iOS, right? TA announced it a few weeks ago. And Dailon, Zlatan is also my favourite player - but I'm half-Swedish, and he's treated like a god in my motherland.
Didn't take long for him to become king of Manchester haha I started following him back when he was with inter. I think he really is the best player in the world You are no question right about them being easier on mobile and with FF it's always as long as you grind and level up you're good to go
I remember reading that. But I expect it to be a watered-down, IAP-filled, mini-game. I hope I'm wrong, and we actually get a full version premium game. But if Nintendo is involved at all, I'm sure we'll get the former.
Nintendo isn't involved, and my understanding is that the iOS game will be identical to the full-priced 3DS game of the same title.
That would be a dream come true. I will be so happy to have been wrong. Hope it gets an English/NA release. Went back and found the article about Level-5's mobile games coming next year. Can't believe I totally forgot about that already. Layton & Inazuma Eleven. So excited all over again.
