I used to play Phantasy Star 1 on my Game Gear via a cartridge converter. Think it was my first JRPG experience. Loved it, but never beat the final boss despite at least two playthroughs (maybe three). That was back in the day when cartridges had a battery save. If you didn't play for a while, the charge would die and you'd just lose your save. Hence the replays. Shame the Game Gear was so badly supported for European RPG fans. Great machine for its day, though. Provided you sat near a power point.
The Game Gear impressed me more than the console counterparts. In fact, I always been amazed by handheld devices. There is something unique about being able to bring your favorite games everywhere.
Part III is my favorite at the moment I really like II a lot and have them all on steam PC but I haven't played IV enough to rate it Sega pulled the mobile ones so only mobile one I have is phantasy star online from Japan App Store and it's a really great game despite being FTP
Haven't really played IV enough either. Want to play them in order except I, I'm probably saving that one for when I don't have a scratched screed mobile. Also I just really needed to play II I believe I'm really close to the end of DQ III now ^^
Friendship Day There is not much literature on Friendship Day history as we celebrate today. However, there are numerous folktales and several instance in mythological legends that shows that friends and friendship have been valued since the beginning of civilized world. As an intrinsically social creature, men love to make friends to further this process of socialization.Considering the valuable role friends play in our life it was deemed to fit to have a day dedicated to friends and friendship. The United States Congress, in 1935, proclaimed first Sunday of August as the National Friendship Day. Since then, celebration of National Friendship Day became an annual event. The noble idea of honoring the beautiful relationship of friendship caught on with the people and soon Friendship Day became a hugely popular festival.
Just listened to the RPG Reload podcast, where there was a plea for questions, so here's an old one that Id be interested to hear your thoughts on: A dark force rises and takes over the world governments and decrees that there can only be JRPGs or WRPGs, past, present and future. Which do you choose, and why? I suspect Shaun would save DQ etc, but can Eric give up Spiderweb?
I don't remember if I asked Shaun, but did you ever play Monster RPG 2? It was one I felt was "real" in a Korean flourishing app store at that time as far as I remember. You know, for when you get tired of fetching sticks and apples. Have you considered a reload on it? There's lots of quality rpg's now, but that was good times too. I remember I had a very simple dungeon crawler. Don't quite remember it's name. It was two of them and they used almpost no battery.
Just went from a 5s to the 6s plus and it's a huge difference! Final fantasy IX is really awesome now Only thing is I had to start over on most all my RPGs but I have a long trip and vacation coming up so i will be playing lots of FF and DQ.
Lol you're pretty used to starting over by now? How many times for IX, like 4 or something? I'm playing a little IX, Chrono Trigger and Secret of Mana. I hope you have a wonderful vacation! Are you travelling far?
I got an iphone SE now. (Prefer the smaller screen). Hoping for my sim tomorrow so I can begin playing with it.
I just left the 6 Plus for a 6s ... it's smaller, but at least it fits better in my pocket. Why didn't you back up to iCloud before moving to the new phone? I would HATE to start one of these long RPGs from scratch. When something doesn't have cloud saves, I get really nervous about losing my progress.
I am this time I'm very good at the first 10-15 hours that's for sure Winter I was very far in DQIII geez over 20+ I was 35 hours in to FFXIII Over 35 hours into FF V Yeah it sucks ha
Dailon have you played FFVI on ios? Bought it today. I think I can handle the ugliness, but I'm wondering why they had to do it to this game in particular.
I do have it there is no final fantasy game on us or Japan App Store I don't have I love FFVI yeah it's not perfect but once you get through the first couple hours it's gets better. Like some FF games at first it's okay then you hit the world map and it opens up and all is well. I like the boss fights in VI. Battle menu is diff than other ports and at first it drove me a little crazy but it got easier.
I do love VI! But this version is odd. It's still great to have on the phone and some things are great, I really only have trouble with the graphics.
