No, it isn't.. That's just my iOS backlog.. Then there's PSP backlog, PS3 backlog, Steam Backlog, Android .. I'm awful truly, I'm all over.. But my ipod has rapidly become my favorite device, so I play them there if possible.

Lucky you playing IX! I'm buying that one later for sure and will enjoy the heck of that one too.

Shaun: how often roughly do you see Square Enix Rpg's for sale in app store? If it's lile two years 'till next then I might pick up more.

Just finished up the Dragon Quest 1 RPG Reload. Great stuff as always, Shaun, though it sparked my curiosity: what was your one-and-only MMORPG? I managed to avoid getting sucked into one of those, despite being in college during the height of EverQuest and the launch of Final Fantasy XI...

It was Final Fantasy XI. I played it for about a year and a half. Honestly, I was on it too much and when I realized the damage it was doing to my life, I walked away and never went back. Dragon Quest 8 just helped me make that break, haha.

Maybe an impossible question - The World Ends With You, or the new Romacing SaGa 2. I have never played a RS game by the way. Generally love all the FF games, DQ games. I like turn based more than contious action. I generally don't like empire building type games where you have to make money by improving areas, taxing people (like the city building type games).
    Thanks for any help.

For real, I think you should avoid Romancing SaGa 2. Definitely seems like it wouldn't be your thing. TWEWY is pretty action-heavy, so it too might not be your thing. If you have to pick one, I'd say to go with TWEWY, if only because a greater percent of people I know like that vs. hating it, whereas RS2 is pretty much split down the middle.

Regarding Square Enix sales, they seem to do them round every Christmas, at least, as well as the odd one through the year like the current one for DQ games. It's not always across the board though, as in it might not be every title discounted, but it would be a good handful.

Not enough at all! To make it worse for me I love rpg's, but I had trouble finishing. I would always feel lost as soon as it opened and you had less direction. Then after I wrote down in a small book everything people say that is likely to be an objective and crossing off, I could finish them! So now I'm beating this baclog ^^ soon finished my fourth rpg this year where I have maybe finished ten my whole life lol. My memory isn't good enough to remember all those : "there a .. On the .." Random comments ^^

Finished so far : FFI (100%), DQ I and II. Soon done with FFII. I loved it waaay more than I would ever have thought! Love the small cutscenes on my iOS version. So many new areas and progressing story quite rapidly. I thought this one would be harder to get theough, but I feel like it ranks above FFI for me even though I like that one too.

Thank you:) If they keep the sale until I get more money I might just buy the two last. I really like these versions of DQ. Love the portrait mode actually. Anyone else gaming on a new iOS device? I got an ipod for christmas and I'm so in love with the crispness of that screen! Everything looks amazing!

Those two are so awesome! I've never played them before their iOS release, but they are so great so far.

But I think I'll open up DQ1 for a while today since it's its the 30th anniversary. Well... Any free time I get, it being my 5th wedding anniversary. Now I wished I would've had a DQ themed wedding. If only she was a gamer. Hahaha.

Will play them in order so next up is III :-D or rather next up is Rom SaGa 2, but next DQ is III.

    Happy Anniversary!!!

Hm I feel female gamers are much more common now. When I was a child I don't think my parents really understood it. And me and my sister were almost a novelty on the first MTG tournaments. Now a days it's common. Luckily, I enjoy not being a loner in the gaming world and
It's nice to have some females on podcasts too.
Not many of my close friends are gamers though, but my sister is though and gaming weekends with your sister are awesome :-D

    Both of my daughters game
And some people find it odd I think nothing of it
I have never thought of gaming as a guy's only thing
I started on Nintendo in 86 when I was six had a little sister and by the time she was old enough I was teaching her to game
    Spreading the love
Girl gamers rock and the more the merrier
I have communicated with you on here and had no idea if you were girl or guy and never mattered
You know games I know that much :)

I beat DQ1 last December and it was fun!! I am so glad we have DQ games on mobile and especially classics like the first one. Praise be to Square

And Shaun that's the best RPG Reload article to date. Very enjoyable game and article. I had forgot about Nintendo Power and I was a subscriber now I'm about to go online and find some old issues. Happy DQ Day

Thanks! I'm quite thankful my wife will watch me play games like Firewatch and Last of Us. She used to dabble in Harvest Moon games, but has felt too overwhelmed for that to be relaxing as of lately.

I'm just thankful that she is so supportive of my love for gaming, and RPGs in particular. But man, that must be fun getting to play RPGs with your sibling!

That's awesome ^^ No it shouldn't matter at all. I know it has been some issues in certain things like MTG, but I think there too there's less difference now. My sister and I were mostly just treated very well :)

I know rpg's at least;) Always been in love with the snes. Both my sister and I had another very costly and time consuming hobby when we lived at home so it was mostly the Game Boy then.

When I moved out and quit riding competitions I started focusing more on the gaming hobby. It's a bit strange that I love retro so much and yet I never played these old rpg's on their original console.

As long as you can both have your hobbies I'm thinking that's the most important thing :) It's great she is supportive of your gaming!

It sure is fun. My boyfriend is gamer too so she will come over for a weekend and we all just play. Michael on the tv and us on each our own handheld. We both really enjoy playing jrpg's on our handheld ^^ I'm looking really forward to playing some games with her soon. We both have yet to play FFV and when I get a New 3DS we need to play Earthbound together :)

Maybe the console with most quality original rpg's? At least when you think of all those that exists in Japan that never got translated.
