The World Ends With You is probably my favourite game of any kind - and it's amazing on iOS.

I'll always have a soft spot for the RPGs of my youth though - Bard's Tale on the Amstrad, the old Mindscape game Legend on my Amiga, Phantasy Star on my GameGear (via Master System cartridge adaptor), and FFVII on the PS1. The latter is probably the only one that still stands up today, though.

Has anyone tried to play the new Japan RPG Grimms Notes. It was a recent Square Enix release that's very high on the Japan App Store charts. Anyways I have tried to play it and when I start the game and click ok for notifications it just goes black screen and nothing happens. Try it again and same result a black screen and I have to shut it down. I even tried redownloading and had no luck. The battle system in this game has been compared to the world ends with you end from The reviews looks like a great game. Any help would
Be cool but I will keep trying!

Adventures of Mana drops February 4th in Japan not sure when worldwide hopefully same day. This was known as Final Fantasy Advance on Gameboy Advance. I'm almost about to have a final fantasy overload but I got Grimms Notes working now so it's a nice balance :)

Adventures of Mana is older than that, even. It's a remake of Final Fantasy Adventure on the old original Game Boy. There was already one remake on the GBA, which might be what you're thinking of.

I was checking out some gameplay vids and you're correct which makes this remake all the more interesting. I wold say it's a huge improvement in looks alone :)
Can you confirm Shaun if this will be Japan only release next week or worldwide? Personally on this one I want to play the Japan version
Hope I'm not being a bother

By the looks of things, it's this week worldwide, so get your fork and knife ready, proverbially speaking.

I remember two things about Questron, I think. 1) It had a license from Lord British because it was so similar to Ultima, and 2)killing lots of guards. I think. Unless I'm confusing it with another old game from my elementary years.

Adventures of Mana will launch for iOS and Android in North America and Europe, as well as PS Vita in Japan, on February 4, Square Enix announced.

This if from a website I came across early this morning and if true than this would be awesome. Although now I'm torn on getting the Japan or us version.

Update TA has confirmed it will be worldwide this week!!

Would be super killer if they dropped part ix remake on same day. But I can be patient for ix now since I just found my ps one version all discs in excellent shape and today I'm getting a ps one memory card so I can play it and vii and actually be able to save it. And I want to finish it first on ps.
Does anyone know why part viii cost so damn much? I can only find my disc 1 and I have seen it for 80$-120$ online for all 4! That's whack and looks like I won't be playing it for a while.

Yeah, the collector's market on the physical versions of FF7-9 can be nuts. FF8 will come out for iOS sooner or later, though.

Glad to hear that on viii and actually I may just wait for the iOS version. But part of me would like to have that physical copy again so I may pay up anyway no matter what at some point. Back in the day it was my fav FF game and to date it's the one I have played the most. But I have a feeling when I dive back into ix I will like it more than viii.

Speaking of Square RPGs releasing in Japan, anybody keeping an eye on Project Setsuna? Looks pretty cool, although targeted for Vita/PS4 rather than mobile. It reminds me a little of Secret of Mana (SD2) and Chrono Trigger. I hope it gets released in NA.

$80-$120? Wow. Final Fantasy VIII certainly isn't anywhere near that price in the US; even brand new copies run $50-$60 on eBay. Used copies are more like $10-$12.

eBay never dawned on me to check there much cheaper that way thanks
It can be expensive if it's excellent condition. I saw one for 50$ but it said the case was cracked, the spokes were broke and it had several scratches. The copy I have now is the black label and it's great condition so hoping for that I will check eBay for sure now thanks!

I'm really enjoying Grimms Notes a recent square enix rpg released to mobile. Right now as far as I know it's Japan only. the battle system is really cool similar to The World Ends With You. I'm hooked on It right now :)
