Wow, I didn't even know it was ever banned. What happened?

This is what the game is like: you play the part of Mario and walk around the real world collecting coins. You are even expected to walk on water by the look of it.

I have not gone for a walk yet so I don't know what happens if I reach a coin. If it is anything spectacular I will let you all know.

Are you going to go for a swim with your phone to collect those coins in the water too?

I like the idea of this game. If someone would expand on this maybe we wouldnt be living in a nation where %30 of its residents are obese.

Uhhh, looks....interesting. Lol. It needs your current location. That's odd but I guess it has to utilize the street layout to play. Not sure what the point of that game would be. You have to collect a certain amount of coins and then what? The next state in which you have to collect even more? Doesn't seem very fun. >.<

Wait. You actually have to move around in the real world to play? Seems like a new type of game. Too bad my GPS system on my iPod Touch doesn't work. And I'd rather go play basketball then hold my iPod trying to collect coins and trying to get on impossible to reach surfaces too.

Well I do have a dinghy I could take out there to retrieve the coins. I also like the concept, it just needs a lot of polish that it surely won't get before it is pulled. And why Mario?

Ehhh. They probably just tried to sell more by putting a recognizable and well-known character on there. Sort of like how the Dragonball: Evolution movie used the name Dragonball but barely even follows the storyline at all. Just wanted to make money by using a flagship product that will appeal to the masses.

Yeah, I was just thinking of that one when I read this topic.

    And then there's this one:

    Puxxle

    Look at the app's icon.

Looks like Sega will be joining Nintendo in dishing out C&D orders.

Oh...and look at who made the app:

Yep, none other than our "friend" Khalid Shaikh

Yeah, I saw this one too in the New Games section. Didn't think much of it besides the Shadow character. It's not Sonic, it's Shadow. Pretty expensive too. $4.99? Looks pretty shabby to be honest.

And I may be pronouncing it wrong but does the name sound inappropriate to you guys? When I say it, it turns out sounding a lot like something else to me.

This game actually looks surprisingly complete, I would expect complete crap from a dev like this but it seems not to be. Also, I bet their seeming use of google maps is completely illegal too.

  12. Dude, you're a southern Ontarian! Didn't even realize we were neighbours. :)

Anyway, looks rather ridiculous. The description seemed to vaguely hint at something like augmented reality, but this is just another one of those map-based things ... except this one was apparently intended to be played by Jesus.

    Sonic on FIRE!
    LOL!
The fact that he doesn't know the difference between sonic and shadow makes me sad. I hate this guy soooo much, apple should ban him from making apps >_<

Yeah...but our "dear friend" Khalid has a knack for releasing stuff like this right around the time the true IPs are being used. Sega releases Sonic, so what does Khalid do? Why, he takes his little slide puzzle game and puts Shadow (who, while not Sonic, is a Sonic universe character, and does remind one of Sonic) not only in the game, but front and center on the icon.

It's similar to what he pulled (albeit less blatantly) with his "iDracula" app being released around the time of the iDracula game.

It's a great con if you can get away with it.

They only removed it because they made a sequel and didnt want people buying the first one and then getting mad because There was a better version out there.

Dont listen to all the 1 star reviews, they didnt even know what they were buying. From your post I can see that you had one of these old handhelds. So did I, and I enjoy this game very much. Its really fun.

  16. Him I expect such tripe from -- he could just change the icon and be safe though. Then again, it's always a crap shoot with first-timers, too, but this is probably the most blatant use of infringing IP I've seen in the App Store so far.

Not really a fan of Calvin but this app is front and center just like that Puxxles app. The icon shows Calvin front and center. The app itself looks sorta well done seeing how well the person's face matches up with the image but it's not something that I would ever pay money for.

This is hilarious. It would be more so if they actually did take a screen shot showing "NintendoDSi" where the carrier should be.

There should be Goombas that move toward you so you need to keep moving. Collecting coins, in and of itself, makes for a pretty lousy game.
