Match Panic and Silverfish MAX retina iPad updates are now available on The App Store. I've also reduced the price of Silverfish MAX to $1.99 USD. Depending on how things go that could be a permanent reduction.
For Silverfish MAX it means some stuff (icon, hud, menu widgets) is full retina resolution and some other stuff (help screens, sprites) are still the regular iPad assets. Everything still looks better overall, but that was the best I could do for now, for a game that sells 3 copies a week Match Panic faired better since pixel art scales automagically. Even still the non-retina bits in these apps are less noticeable than the non retina bits in some other "retina" apps - I'm looking at you, Infinity Blade 2's menu screens
> pixel art scales automagically I suppose pixel art only benefits from a Retina display if the sprites are rotated etc.? Otherwise, even smaller resolutions already have the "highest wanted" pixel density (which isn't Retina, as you are supposed to spot the pixels in pixel art, sort of opposing Apple's definition of what Retina means...). Will have to think about this as I also got one pixel art app out there I need to update. On that note, I love pixel art
Yeah it'll have the same detail on all screens, but an app with pixel art that hasn't been built with the 5.1 SDK or otherwise forces a 1X scale on the new iPad will get scaled by the OS with some filtering applied. That'll blur the edges a bit vs rendering at full resolution.
Hello All! Pinball HD and Pinball HD Collection update for iPad with support the New iPad. Pinball game looks so cool on Retina Display. Enjoy!
nulis I'm happy to inform you that our game for the new iPad was released today: http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/nulis/id501321114?ls=1&mt=8
Azkend 2 hd has been updated with ipad retina support! @jaildesigner: If the iphone app is built in with iphone retina display it will look better but games that aren't even built for retina (like adventure bar story or the games by kairosoft) don't look that bad. But those will use a sort of 4x zoom yes.
again, no point if thread starter is too lazy to update the first post, he started this thread he then should maintain it
I wonder if he even can update it. I know on another forum I was at I could only edit the first post for a few days before it was locked. I could add posts but not change the first one. I don't know if this forum behaves the same or not.
No, please keep posting updates to this thread. It"s the quickest way for us to find the new retina updates.
shut up please. youre trolling me too much. updated everyone! I didnt update before because only so few games were added here^^ and i dont have that much free time every day
I would love if you also update the sprites and stuff on Silverfish. looks like a pretty good game and will definatly buy it if i know everything ingame is retinasized.
Here's a retina screenshot: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/65425505/Photo%202012-03-20%201%2020%2008%20PM.png View that at on a retina iPad at 50% to see how the game looks. It's almost indistinguishable from some quick tests I mocked up, and in motion I doubt 99% of people could tell the difference. I'm not saying I won't ever add double sized artwork, but for right now, a small improvement in fidelity for a game that sells a few copies a week just isn't an economical use of my time. Hope you understand.
The retina update for Zen Bound 2 is now available. All the UI elements should be sharp, and texture detail has been modified to be a better match for the screen.
