its submitted, one important thing that i recommend to delete old version before installing the update, new version has GameCenter instead OpenFeint, different balance, so it will be time for new victories ; ) Im playing the game whole day and even though I was doing programming for the game and was running it like hundred times per day, Im still enjoying to plug out cable of "device-laptop", turn off itunes and just to sit comfort and play it... I have developed a lot of games, but this one I really like to play by myself. I look forward to add new features to the game as far we've ported it to shiva engine. Its 3d engine, so probably next thing that will be added - will be 3d dices rolling with using realtime physics, let me do some tests now, maybe I'll implement it in few days ; )
Is the board game aspect in it? And did you guys make any changes to that? I always thought that was one of the most interesting aspects to the game and yet the weakest as well. Lots of potential, but just needed lots of tuning, etc., especially the final battle.
Thanks Slava...let me also add that the board game has been removed, pending further development. Originally, I added the board game as a "mini-preview" of an upcoming expansion, and not a fully implemented part of the game. Having to switch to a different 3D engine used up all our time and resources, so we haven't been able to finish that, and set it aside. However now that the base game is finished, we'll be able to look at options for future expansions once again. Anything's possible...right now I'll look at having our first expansion out by Halloween, when the update comes out tell us what you'd like to see in terms of new cards! Thanks!
Not had time to sit down with the update yet, but I love the new icon. I'll be back later with some more thoughts.
thanks, Espekayen, its a compliment for Dustin as a designer : ) btw ArkhamPI will be updated soon as well.
I like the fact that you've removed the board game aspect for the time being, because I think it was holding the game back. I've just had a quick game (and got my arse kicked!) and it was pretty good. I LOVE the fact that you have displayed the cards in fullscreen to show off the great art; I think the art is a major part of card games like this and it's a shame that other games of this type don't place such a high priority on showing off the art with fullscreen displays (I'm looking at you, Kard Combat and Ascension!) The menus are well designed and look good and the menu sound effects are so creepy and atmospheric; I love it! In-game sound is also fantastic and really helps set the scene. Just one question: what is the space to the right of the cemetery for? I think it holds spell cards that cannot be used, but I'm not sure as there is no mention of it in the instructions.
Is it just me, or does the Master of Secrets bear more than a passing resemblance to actor David Warner, of The Omen fame?
@Espekayen: by using space near cemetery you can shuffle "discarded" cards (by using the two available cells), so you can use now ANY cards from this list for the game instead only top one as it was before in early game version. also there are new cards with own logic in the game like "Shadow in the mirror", which will take hero's str/san so its always causing battle even if this card is against hero and weak. Dark Pact should be placed on a hero card in order to use spells... Blue demon will kill any monster instantly, without questions. good catch about the David Warner... I can't answer it, im programmer only : )
Thank you, the upcoming HD version will be available sometime around Halloween. I haven't settled on a price yet, but we'll let everyone know in advance of release.
This game has improved considerably with the recent update and I have enjoyed playing it but the difficulty balance at times seems too difficult. I would suggest diversifying buff/debuff card selection and perhaps adding play space. If there was some way to upgrade heroes that might also help the dynamic. Right now it seems like a no win situation that is fun in being so challenging to see how far one can go with scoring.
I personally miss the board game Dustin, but congrats, everything else in the game is looking and working great. Much much smoother than before. I'm also really enjoying the fullscreen views of the cards. Looking forward to future updates! Happy to see the improved version finally hit the store. Congratulations guys. Good work!
Is the HD version going to be universal, with the current game remaining as the "iPhone/iPod Touch" version? I had been waiting for the recent update before picking the game up, but I would rather just grab it once, and am okay with waiting if that's the case. Well, to be fair, any game involving the Cthulhu Mythos should see the players losing at least 80% of the time.
I noticed the second cemetery space, but I had problems moving cards back and forth - some cards just couldn't be moved at times. Are there any restrictions with that?
Thanks for the update. I also miss the board game portion. I think it adds something even if it wasn't fully realized. I really think you should go back to making it an optional portion of the game.
The HD version will just be for HD capable devices. So I'd wait another few weeks and get that version if you have an iphone4 or ipad, you'll be glad you did. The game's identical, but the artwork and graphics pop a lot more on the higher resolution displays.
We introduced a new category of "spell" cards which can't be used unless one of your Investigators has the "dark pact" card equipped. So yeah, the game will not let you use any of those type of cards until that happens, then you'll be able to play any you've set aside from the deck. There are only a few spell cards right now, but we'll be adding more to that category in future updates and DLC.
