Hey there. Any plans on Retina support? Ignoring the question seems to indicate a 'no'...

This is one game that's gorgeous as is. Not everything needs retina display to make graphics whores happy.

A definite +1 to this - this stands on its own merit.

If you judge every game by the retina capability or not you will miss some fantastic classics and own some mediocre ones in their place. Having the retina graphic does not make a game good is what I am saying and it is sad people are skipping games without retina graphics just because.

You will find that I never said I would skip it. I come in peace and ask a simple question: Are there plans for upgrading the game to support the full resolution of the current (and future) iPod and iPhone devices? That is all.

  5. Hi, sorry I missed your question, but right now I have no definite plans to include a retina upgrade anytime soon. Once we get the game running smoothly across all devices, and some new features I'd like to add implemented, I'll be able to look at what direction we can focus on next. But I can tell you I'd love to do a retina upgrade, as I have an ipod touch 4 myself! It's just not the biggest priority at the moment. Thanks

The question is asked so many times and people DO skip a game if it doesn't have retina graphics. So forgive any misunderstanding there.

I will repeat what I said in my earlier post - this game stands on its own merits. If someone does not choose to buy it for the petty reason that it does not have retina graphics at the moment they are missing a GREAT game.

I'm wondering when the updated that fixes the bugs will be/was submitted. Can't wait to play this game bug-free!

Oh, and re: the retina graphics--it looks so great I almost thought it did have retina-display. The most obvious tell that it didn't was the icon, but in-game it really is stunning as is.

I don't get a game purely for the eye candy stuff. A lot of game don't need it and RD does not improve the gameplay by adding RD support what-so-ever. (Some sarcastic remarks pulled)

I think the game looks great as is, please fix the bugs and polish the gamplay. My $$$ is in your bank, so do as you are told. ;)

I agree, the lack of retina diplay does not hurt this game at all. I've played it and I have fun, i'm not wondering "where's the hd graphics" other games need it or it enhances the experience but this one in particular stands well as it is.

I went looking for a card list online and couldn't find one, so I put one together myself. Would The Creators object to me posting it? Only downside is I had some trouble remembering which cards were unlocked, hehe. I was thinking I might put it into a Google Docs spreadsheet but if you'd prefer people to explore the game without that, I'd understand.

  13. Hi,

Somebody will probably do it eventually - heck, maybe even myself - so sure go ahead. Although I should point out in update 1.1 many of the cards attributes will be changed to adjust game play, so it will be outdated in a week or so. We designed it so we could change the values rather easily, to make the game easier or more challenging depending on how people felt about it. So the next version not going to be so easy to win.

    Hi Dustin,

Does that mean the new update was already submitted? :)

We'll be submitting an update within another day or two, so it won't be much longer. Tomorrow we're going to be testing a lot of things we've implemented over the weekend, so hang in there.

BTW, besides bug fixes, we've added visual tracking of cards, so you can see what card classes your Investigator is stacked with - the battle screen is more intuitive, and shows bonuses to hit damage now - I've added 10 new cards to the deck - and we'll be adjusting the game play to make it more challenging.

    Thanks!

Hmm, interesting! OK, I'm posting from work at the moment (gasp!) but I'll put the information out there and can always update it when 1.1 comes out, very excited!

Also a random thought, it's interesting the squares on the board are assigned rooms. Is that decorative or do you think it might come into play in the future? Something like The Priest having +1 Sanity if played on the Chapel square. Just a thought!

Also when those buff cards are played, their success check is often described as a Fix roll or an Occult Wisdom roll etc. It would be interesting if certain Investigators got bonuses to rolls of certain types. It would lead to logical pairings of a mechanically-minded Investigator being given buffs that relate to his talents.

Anyway, just a thought! You can go in so many different directions.

I really like the visual tracking add, thanks for that. Take your time...as long as the update fixes the bugs I will be happy if it's here in one week or two!

  18. Hey thanks, please let us know when you get it posted so we can get copies!

To be honest, I hadn't really thought about assigning any special modifiers to the squares it was merely decorative, but that's certainly a great idea which I'll keep in mind.

We set up Special Ability cards (e.g. Lesser/Greater Summoning, Banishment, Reanimated, ect.) similar to what you're driving at, so yes, that's something I'm going to look at in the future. Right now, Investigator's need to meet certain requirements in order to be able to use some of the Special Ability cards, for example, Greater Summoning, you need a Sanity attribute of 4+ in order to be eligible to use it. I haven't created very many of those card types yet, but it will allow us to create a unique range of special weapons/skills/spells/items which may only be used by Investigators who can meet minimum requirements.

Adding bonuses to complement Investigator's occupations is a great idea, I'd like to do something like that, but it will require a lot of code-level modifications to the game so we would have to implement that in a later update. But right now I think there's quite a variety to start out with, we have 111 different cards in the deck (including the 10 I just added today) for $1.99 (shameless plug, heh), which seems much more than other card games including all their DLC IAP's combined together. And this is only the first week of release, so I'm really excited to expand the game and listen to people's ideas for updates and direction, and I'll be thrilled to do it as long as its feasibly possible to support. But please, if you like the game even a little, and want to see it improved and updated and supported, I'm begging the silent majority to leave us some kind of encouraging feedback in reviews on the App Store.

    Thanks for your help!

I started playing Dungeon Solitaire to try to get my fix since I can't complete a game of this one with the bugs...but it didn't do it for me. Necronomicon is a vastly superior game.
