This has been floating around on the internet for a while and it's a great recipe, so I thought I should share it. Ingredients 4 tablespoons self-raising flour 4 tablespoons sugar 2 tablespoons cocoa 1 egg 3 tablespoons milk 3 tablespoons oil or melted butter A small splash of vanilla extract 1 large coffee mug, approximately one pint capacity Optional ingredients Chocolate chips Marshmallows Nuts Nutella spread ...or whatever you fancy! Add dry ingredients to mug and mix well. Add the egg and mix thoroughly. Pour in the milk and oil/butter and mix well. Add the chocolate chips (if using) and vanilla extract, and mix again. Put your mug in the microwave and cook for 3.5 minutes at 800 watts (high). The cake might rise over the top of the mug, but don't be alarmed! Allow to cool a little and tip out onto a plate if desired. EAT! (This can serve two if you want to feel slightly more virtuous). And why is this the most dangerous cake recipe in the world? Because now we are only five minutes away from chocolate cake at any time of the day or night!
I was thinking you for some reason had gone all Martha Stewart one us until I saw the second to last paragraph. Awesomeness... sheer awesomeness.
Lol i thought it was dangerous because the mug would be in the middle of the cake and you eat it lol stupid me. Im going to try this at home
Yup. I just use a bowl or a measuring jug instead. My favourite version of this cake is syrup sponge. Mix up the ingredients in a bowl (without cocoa obviously) and in another bowl (or the pint mug) put in 2 to 3 tablespoons of golden syrup. Then transfer the mixture to this bowl so it's on top of the golden syrup. Put this in the microwave for 3 1/2 minutes and then cut around the cake in the bowl with a knife and tip onto a plate. It's delicious.
Sweet... literally! But you forgot the most important ingredient: DANGER! Palfince, you should have very clearly put a warning to not try this at home. Now YOU are responsible if Phil blows up his kitchen cause he added too much danger to the cake.
I made this with my bro once. It was very oily, quite sickening, but fantastic. It's a pretty awesome idea me thinks
