Wow I must be the minority here, but damn there isn't anything I would want to do on a mac that i can't do on a PC. If anything there is a million things on a mac that I can't do, that i can do on a PC... And no I'm not a MS fanboy. But seriously when you say PC vs Mac, I have to say PC all the way... Mainly because I am a gamer and well I saw BF 2142 on my bro's Macbook pro and it ran like junk... Oh yea and windows 7 ****ING ROCKS!
brian is right, but only partially. the only benefit of a windows pc is windows gaming. If mac ever figured out how to get pc games to run on mac, I would switch in a heartbeat. Windoze bloze!
And how many red rings have ya got? Used to console game (Dreamcast days.. PStone 2!) now I just play smash bros wii. any other games I get on PC, mainly because it's more portable (Lan parties?)... Oh yea plus I have about 50000 games on my arcade (In my sig) so not much need for consoles anymore... And guess what's running the arcade?...... I'll tell you one thing it aint a stupid mac!
Ah, the LAN scene has been beyond dead in the Chicago area for quite some time now. I used to run a monthly LAN that would draw in around 100 people that ran for a few years before it was completely decimated by World of Warcraft players and drama whores. I still have the stupid 24 port gigabit switches I paid close to $700 a pop for when gigabit was the new hotness. Those were the days. I gave up PC gaming years ago, all my friends switched to playing on XBOX Live, and I can't say I miss much. It's pretty nice to just have a console that flat out works consistently across the board without any screwing around. I've probably sunk more money in to video cards in my life than I've spent on most other things.
What?! Your crazy hodapp, buying video cards is the best part! I love spending $400 every year to squeeze out 15 extra FPS! /s But the fact is you can, and it works... Plus you have a choice of any manufacturer to throw in your box, I just got a new laptop and it seems to play great! My big draw on console gaming is on the server side of things... COD4 on pc can have up to 32 players max where on console you can only 24 players max if I remember correctly, and playing TF2 on a 360 vs pc? No comparison whatsoever, PC spanks it...
My wife just got a new computer, with the free windows 7 upgrade. Screw that I'm sticking to my old ass windows xp.
both macs and microsoft have their own specialties...apple is good for entertainment, while EVERYONE in the buisness field uses MICROSOFT...i mean EVERYONE. ALL COLLEGES, ALL COMPANIES, EVERYONE CONCERNED WITH BUISNESS USES MICROSOFT...that pic means nothing
Have 4 close friends and all but one has gotten it... With a 50%+ Failure rate doesn't say much for the hardware, especially when the original xbox was such a beast... If I had the money I would get the PS3 over the 360, just personal preference... But then again nothing will ever surpass the Dreamcast in innovation, it was by far ahead of it's time... It's like it came from the future...
I have a launch day 360 that has red ringed twice, both times I was able to bring it back from the dead with the various repair techniques found online. Also, my 360 will barely read discs anymore so I have to turn it on and off and on and off until it recognizes the disc as a game disc. Oh also, to open my DVD drive I have to use a paper clip as the eject button doesn't do anything but make the drive make some funny noises. It's such a piece of shit, but the games (and XBOX Live) are so god damn good.
My xbox red ring'd right before the start of this last summer. I ran out of warranty and i either could send it to TX to get it repaird for 99$ or get a ps3... well I traded in all my xbox crap to gamestop and got 100 dollars off my ps3.... im never going back, not to mention that the ps3 is way more future proof than the 360, and i love blu ray on my HDTV... not to mention games like Rage will be one disc instead of the 2 disc 360 version (which is already crippled because I read that carmack wanted to do 3 discs but thats unacceptable, obviously)... Nothing is better than the free internet tho, I cant beleive i had to shell out 7 bux a month to even use online player, 7 dollars for a stupid ass matchmaking service?? totally sick of M$
The failure rate was only that high for the original 360. Like I said, I've never had any problems for nearly a year, and I love my 360. The reason I bought it over a PS3 is because if I had bought a PS3, I would be paying excessive amounts of cash for crap that I will never use. I don't care if it has Bluray, I don't use bluray, so that would be a waste of money. I don't care if game discs hold more data. I don't want or need a web browser, why on earth would I want to use a clunky console web browser when my PC is a mere metre away? Also, as far as I know, you are required to install PS3 games to the harddrive, which sucks. I guess what I'm trying to' say is that when I bought my 360, I bought it to play games, and nothing else, which is what it does flawlessly.
As an owner of both an XBOX 360 and a PS3, PSN is compete and unadulterated ass compared to XBOX Live. It's so terrible I almost feel like I'm on some kind of hidden camera show and Ashton Kutcher is going to pop out any second and tell em I've been punk'd. To say you get what you pay for would be the understatement of the century. I like my PS3, but god damn, everything outside of playing the actual games themselves feels like a joke in comparison. As a complete Apple fanboy, it absolutely blows my mind that out of all companies, MICROSOFT is the only one who has managed to get something right this console generation.
