The world is now run by advanced robots, who know very little about their mythical creators. All is well and orderly in a society run by robots, until the discovery of a library that contains everything that has, is, and will ever be written— the perfect harbinger of chaos. Inspired by Jorge Luis Borges’ short story of the same name. You play as Ludovik, a Seeker, sent to investigate a murder case in Babylon. When a state of emergency is suddenly declared, Ludovik finds himself in increasingly dangerous territory as he follows the murderer’s trail and unravels the mystery behind the Library’s sudden lock-down. Featuring a world full of vast jungles, abandoned temples, and plentiful cybernetic inhabitants to interact with, The Library of Babel promises both a thrilling adventure full of danger and intrigue, and a thoughtful, atmospheric tale of how we consider infinity. • An overgrown yet futuristic world with beautifully hand-drawn 2D environments. • Deadly obstacles and even deadlier enemies to avoid, as Ludovik prefers agility and stealth over violence. • Dialogue and Inventory management systems reminiscent of the Graphic Adventure games of the 90’s. • Moody, philosophical science fiction story inspired by The Library of Babel and Apocalypse Now. Best way to describe this is as a combination platformer, stealth game, and point-and-click adventure, built around a fascinating post-human sci-fi world. The platforming involves some real skill, and the adventure elements have something of an RPG feel to them. And as the video shows, the design is gorgeous. This is from the same publisher as Legend of Tian Ding, BTW. mastery51 Well-Known Member Oct 21, 2009 505 253 63 #7 mastery51, Aug 13, 2023 Last edited: Aug 13, 2023 There seems to be a bug where the in game Music and SFX settings are all the way down to 0 on default. Someone gave it a 1 star because of no sound squarezero Moderator Staff Member Patreon Silver Dec 10, 2008 13,714 1,240 113 Male Chief Strategy Officer Salem, Massachusetts, USA #10 squarezero, Aug 13, 2023 Just go to settings when you open the game and turn music and fx volume up. As mastery51 said, they’re down by default, probably a bug. They will stay up. Haven’t tried my Backbone yet. Touch controls are good — good use of contextual buttons. I’m currently stuck on one puzzle, but there’s a helpful walkthrough of the PC version: mastery51 Well-Known Member Oct 21, 2009 505 253 63 #11 mastery51, Aug 13, 2023 Last edited: Aug 13, 2023 It has sound. Like Squarezero mention you have to go into the option settings. It also has controller support. My xbox controller works great and the touch controls works pretty good as well. It gives you some adjustments for the touch controls in settings. Another thing I noticed about the game, there seems to be no area map to help you find your place in the area. There is an overview world map to tell you what area you are in...But that’s it… This isn’t a bad thing. It forces you to explore the world on your own. But there is a chance you can get lost. squarezero likes this. anthony78 Well-Known Member Nov 13, 2015 3,125 703 113 #12 anthony78, Aug 13, 2023 Might give it a try with the positive impressions here. Based on all reviews there seems to be a few similar complaints. #1. Based on all the switch and steam games this game is not really ground breaking, there is a dime a dozen on those platforms that probably do it better. I agree with that. But this is for mobile. #2. The stealth features are not particularly engaging considering the game is 2d and there is no combat take downs. You basically run behind a box or object and wait… Agreed…. But this game seems to be more story, platforming, and problem solving based. #3 they said the controls were not great. But the controls seems to be just fine on iOS, all things considered with touch controls. Maybe those are older reviews. #4 There is no area map. Making it easier to get lost. I agree on that but it’s still manageable. So Overall For iOS I think this game is a good addition to mobile games. houseofg, jkluk23 and anthony78 like this.
