The platforming is pretty tight, the levels long and involved, there are decent puzzles and the combat (at least on the first level) is simple but good enough to be enjoyable. There are so few 3D platformers in the App Store that any decent effort is cause to celebrate. That said, this was wasn’t fully polished before release (or potentially released by mistake). The video cut scenes show only as black screens with audio (which you can thankfully skip). The baked in shadows seem way too dark and your character is not quite integrated into them. Oh, and the name of the game is misspelled on the app icon. None of this gets in the way of gameplay, but seem like things to take care of in future updates. Just finished the first world. There’s some tricky but fair platforming here. Still amazed that they went this far for a promotional game. sebgo likes this. Maybe they fix the worst stuff with a update. I can see myself playing through this if they fix the controls. Right now only move/jump and attack work for me with the Nimbus+. If I want to talk, or pick stuff up I have to use the touchscreen. squarezero Moderator Staff Member Patreon Silver Dec 10, 2008 13,716 1,240 113 Male Chief Strategy Officer Salem, Massachusetts, USA #4 squarezero, Jun 10, 2024 I’ve been playing only with screen controls, but I was wondering about controller support. Hopefully they fix that with an update. I’ve definitely played jankier platformers on iOS . I do like the grab-the-edge mechanic, and overall I’m finding the platforming to be pretty accurate. But then again, it’s definitely not running at 60 fps, so I’m surprised you gave it a chance . sebgo likes this. You really can’t have so high demands of free games - basically its a jank Mario64. Don’t make me sound like a fps-snob! Sorry it wasn’t your cup of tea! Torrente Well-Known Member Jun 6, 2024 99 27 18 #7 Torrente, Jun 11, 2024 I only want a functioning controller, thats all I need. I can look past the jankyness when it’s a free game. squarezero likes this. psj3809 Moderator Jan 13, 2011 12,972 722 113 England #8 psj3809, Jun 11, 2024 Played the first level and yeah not bad. Kept dying and having to go back a while but my fault for not touching the resume points I’m anti controllers so I’ve been using on screen controls and think it plays really well. A nice surprise this game Torrente Well-Known Member Jun 6, 2024 99 27 18 #9 Torrente, Jun 11, 2024 I love the cardboard cut-outs theme. More games should have that aestethic. Paper monster was 2.5D, but the aesthetic is similar. (You must log in or sign up to post here.) Show Ignored Content Share This Page Tweet Your name or email address: Password: Forgot your password?
