I haven't gotten it yet, but with more characters... you should probably get this instead. I mean, what does Volt have that this doesn't? Except for Yun, not really anything.
You can probably use the KOFXIII tier lists as a starting point ~ the movesets are mostly intact, the main thing missing being you only have a pre-determined version of SP moves, i.e. you only get Light SRK instead of Heavy SRK.
Volt has something this doesn't have .. MASH ULTRA TO WIN!!!! I'm glad that for the most part, I don't have to worry about Sagat one-touch Ultras taking out 60% of my energy on a lag-dropped combo.
And thank god for that! It seems like it takes a really long time to get a Neo Max move in this. I don't think I've gotten one yet during the course of normal play, though I've been using a lot of meter on cancels. I predict meter management will be a big part of this game... Oh lawd! That would be incredible beyond words! O_O Lol drunk mode? What's that?? Looks like you found your character bro hahah!
So what teams are you guys using? So far I'm sticking with my old KoF '99 team of Terry, Ralf, and K'. I'm thinking I may have to swap out K', I kinda feel like I may not be able to use him effectively. I kinda figure Terry's my all-around guy, Ralf has good mixups and is kind of all-around too, and K' is more my speed character. Maybe I should add a grappler?
Thas right Docta! Me and Hwa play better with a good dose! Im not sure the effects completely yet though, ive found that a different Super is available while hes buzzin'...havent checked if theres a change in damage though.
Ralf has the Gomu Gomu no Jet Gatling Neo Max ) I myself don`t quite have a solid team made up yet, but it has come down to choosing the 3rd character only! The first two are Kula and Leona, as for the third, as i said, i`m still thinking about it
Duolon-Hwa- and maybe Leona...I cant figure out one of her cancels in the middle of a combo string though, so maybe someone else.
Hmmm maybe I should try someone from the AoF team. There are so many characters that trying them all is quite a bit of time rather than picking someone and just learning them. Maybe I'll try to complete the combo training for everyone and see if I don't end up liking someone else.
I was thinking this too, that it's time consuming to try all the fighters. I haven't tried combo training, so that will be next. I'm getting good ideas from everyone in this thread, so thanks
OMG Mooken, Felix and gang is all here? Looks like I have to buy this game too. Had played it in the arcades during my school days (KOF95-2000), lol... When can SAMURAI SHODOWN 2 come out? It will be a great port I'm sure. Not SS3 onwards though as they belongs to the "Ultra > 50% health gone" type of game. And I hope there will be new characters like the New Face Team alternate version: Orochi Team (Yashiro is my fav. grabber) and RUGAL. How can KOF be complete without their fav. boss character of all time (he's in 1994, 95, 98, and others)...
King of Fighters is a pretty execution heavy game. At least in the arcades and console. The input leeway isn't as friendly as some other fighting games.
Me likey! I dig the fact that it has endings. Sure, they're nonsensical and I can't imagine watching them again, but I always resented that SFIV and SFIV: Volt left them out. Kudos to you, SNK! I may like the characters and the game itself a little less than I do Street Fighter or Soul Calibur but I applaud the effort and that, in and of itself, is worth my hard-earned cash. Thanks! K-
Same feelings, it's a great work considering what SNK did on GBA, especially their first one on that platform...
