west coast pacific time as for team composition doctamario is right you want an point char, a middle char, and anchor point characters should be ones that don't require meter and/or has long blockstrings for countinous pressure middle char can be anyone you want usually depends on how heavily you've used your meter on point char can be battery for anchor or meter efficient char anchor should always be last with loads of meter and gauge always practice at least 1 100% combo for your anchor so you can consistently turn games im not that great with maxima yet but i'll definitely train with anyone willing
Awesome. I'm Central so I'm 2 hours ahead of you. Someone on Dream Cancel proposed an idea of tiering characters based on Point, Middle, and Anchor positions. E.g. King would be A on Point, A+ in the Middle, S on Anchor etc. It's an interesting concept that a character's placement on the team (or just by themselves if you're playing single character fights) can change their tierlist placement.
thats a great idea for example kula would be great on point but terrible as anchor since her damage output is too low and her blockstrings can be rolled and punished
Yeah I don't like kula but I respect her. Type could you help me out with maxima? He's my favorite character so I wanna be good with him
ok the #1 thing to remember as maxima is: Don't Be Predictable! i imagine in your games everyone would anticipate vapor cannon and try to roll and punish you should learn the basic combo for maxima and punish the roll in all maxima combos do over 1/3 of their health so this should net you easy wins as for the combo from normal attack cl.P or cl.K df.P b.S (cl.K is more damaging while cl.P is slightly faster) get used to this combo its safe on block and chains from jump attacks more advanced tricks later
Ok thanks type. Ill get better with him. Also I need to get better with duolun too. I got shen down I just choke when I get combo opportunities :/ but that's the fun in the game is to get good I guess
i used to drop combos all the time too you just have to get used to the input try to hit up training and find out why you're dropping it, which move isn't connecting.etc duolon is something else lots of tricks with duolon for one you should always cancel your rekka (f.S x3) into forward dash (df.E) otherwise the recovery on rekka is insanely long and you're just asking to get comboed
I'm terrible at landing HD combos to be honest. I'd probably get a lot more wins if I were better with them. Many of the HD combos in training mode seem pretty unfeasible so I usually just come up with my own that are just about as damaging and are easier to do. If you have any requests I can try to work something out for you. Btw sorry I didn't get a chance to play you tonight. I was working on a tune with a buddy of mine.
you are completely right combo training kinda sucks, always develop your own combos if possible you should try to practice pure hd combos (no gauge) and figure out what chain does the most damage on shen and iori 100% drive and 0 gauge can do 700+ damage k and kyo and do 600+ damage and i believe EX iori, EX kyo, and king can do around 500 once you master those chain combos, incorporating supers and neomaxs into your game would be a lot easier
Super easy Duolon HD/Max combo: K HD K EX Super Max Cancel If you wait long enough and let the Super do its work before you Max Cancel, you'll net about 817 damage! This is good advice. I tend to play more of a footsies-based game but it sometimes means I'm not dealing as much damage as I could be. :X
Ok thanks ill remember that. Man I'm glad I bought this instead of mvc 2 on iPod. I like this better. Also type you did a no meter no drive cancel combo to me with duolon. Could you tell me the input for that?
Good games earlier! You were really starting to get things going towards the end of the set. You're already better than you were last time so keep doing whatever you're doing! These matches are actually helping me a lot too. You might have noticed me trying to get my HD combos on (unsuccessfully lol!)
Ok thank you type. Also Mario thanks man I didn't think I did that good but ok lol. As for you your really good. Also I don't want matches where either one of you go easy, so give it your all!!!!!
lol sometimes going all in means playing your mains and sometimes your mains can get boring though, i havent played my mains in a while so i think they'll be fun again next time we play i'll show you what kyo and ex iori are capable of
Thank you Buns (haha your name is hilarious btw!) I won't go easy on you! But yeah you really did seem to start pulling some things together towards the end there like moving around more. Standing still is death in this game. I definitely need to get a backup team going. I still love my mains but it'd be nice to branch out a bit.
yeah i guess your right type about the going all in thing so i understand. and about the gamertag thanks! i was hoping people would think it was funny! it used to be my xbox 360 name when i had one
man you know who i want in this game!!!! Saiki so that way i can have Ex Iori, Ash, and Saiki and itll be the different colored flames!!! it would be so sick!!!!!!!!
Hey man where'd you go? I got that second invite but you disappeared when I tried to accept! Don't worry about bothering me with invites, I'm always happy to play! If I can I definitely will so don't be shy!
