well probably because the sf4volt is more about strategy and not big fancy combos? funny to hear about spammers and lamers, because that's what is ios version of kof mp now is all about. btw what chars do you main, Docta? all top tier chars or something else? it is hard to main mai here. no good reversals, air and anti air options suck and only normals are great.

How do you execute a blowback attack? i saw this in the catchphrases requirements! KO 10 times using a KO attack! I only know that different characters have different blowback attacks i think, what is Kula`s for example? :p

I gotta disagree with you there... As a former Mai Player, I found it pretty easy to pick her back up in friendlies..., And she still has a lot she can do without using a lot of Meter... Granted no, she can't do everything from XIII, but I still can use her to do a lot of big combos, and I dont need to burn through meter like I do with Kyo. King is the same way, I dont need a lot of Meter to do her combos either, and still can perform very well. SFIV is a chess game, thats true, but not on Volt, Volt is too rewarding of random Supers/Ultras to the average scrub, you may not be a scrub, in fact, I think just the opposite, but how many times has someone scrubbed out a random super to beat you? In KOF you can either be rush heavy, or a turtle, and this game does not reward turtles at all, but thats how KOF/Fatal Fury/Art of Fighting has always been, thats why it is one of the first in house crossover fighters

I remember srk did a series of videos for tekken players introducing to street fighter and vice versa (before sfxt came out).

Pretty much the styles of the games were different
Sf was about zoning people and getting into other peoples
Tekken was about poking at close range, blocking well and being able to punish well (arguably, a more realistic style)

    How is kof played out?

KOF is more similar to Street Fighter, however where they differ, and this is wholy preferrential, is the chess game versus the bar brawl theory. In a bar Brawl, there is no guessing, no real strategy, just you and the other guy pounding each other... Thats KOF, you run at them you perform your attacks, and you stay on them, and guard to make sure there attacks dont hurt as bad so you can counterattack.

Street Fighter is not about the average Brawl, Street Fighter is a mind game, sure you have damaging combos just like KOF, But SF does not reward rush down fighters often (Viper's, and the occasional Makoto/Fei Longs are the exceptions, they are rush down fighters) I happen to like SF and KOF, I just don't like where SF has gone, and thats Volt AND AE/SFXT... I am a Tekken player BTW, and usually Tekken Players take to KOF more, although I know a few over here in Philly who are huge in Marvel...

I never like tekken, i haven't play much but feels like totally different compare with KOF. For me tekken is just a retard game, can't be bother to work on it really.

But KOF is very similar to street fighter though. Not sure if good street fighter player will be able to easily pick up KOF game or not, but one thing for sure :" the good KOF player will be surely the good player for street fighter." I hardly play any street fighter game before, only start playing it for a few month (although I plays lots of games but I start hitting 2.5k BP after somewhere like 600 games), I am pretty sure I am one of the top player (at least top 10) for C.viper(3.4k BP) & Sakura(2.7k BP)& Cody(3k BP) & zangief(3.4k BP), plus most of the other character I can easily get 2.5k BP+.

Back in 12 years ago I was one of the player for KOF, travel other city and still hardly can find people can beat me. I remember Once I got myself in trouble because I was smash the sh!t out of him and start trolling him when he gets low HP, he gets mad and turn off the game machine and been rude too, so I punch his face and start the "real fight", I got smashed thou in the end, cause he got his friend in back up. -_-!!!

Too many real fights I have seem when people playing KOF back in china, good thing about playing online is no matter how angry they are all they can do is just send you a massage LOL, but in the other way you also can't see them when they going nuts, I am not a evil person, but sometimes is just too funny when you see people rage :)

Good selective rush down works really well in sf, particularly since the midtier players (sub 3k BP) cant block.

Kof compared to sf doesn't have much zoning. Sure, my scrubby Kensou can do back + sp, forward/down + sp, but it's pretty ineffective against above average players. Kof seems to be like tekken in some respect where learning to block is a good ability.

So i took advantage of the trading cards sale, and spent 250k on them and only got 237/285! I`ve been saving the money for the 1kk achievement but couldn`t hold back...the artwork is just too good!
I guess the only way to export the pictures is by taking photos with the iphone? Or is there another way?

Also, i`ve asked before but didn`t get an answer: what is a blowback attack and in what situtions or how do you execute it?

    Thanks in advance

    Blowback is like an alpha-counter.
Tap SP (neutral joystick) while you're blocking.
It'll cost you a meter, does 4 damage? 8 damage? something very small. Used to break a blocked combo.

I think there will always be spammers and lamers, but part of it is that no one really knows how to play this game yet. Once the community gets better you're going to see better players just like in Volt.

My mains are Terry, Ralf, and Maxima right now. I haven't tried Mai yet, I've been so busy trying to lock in a third character to replace K' and I think I've settled on Maxima.

This whole post just made me [IMG]

You can't really rush down a player who knows what he's doing in Volt. In various SF games you're right, but if we're talking about Volt, if you rush down someone who knows how to play, you're going to get crushed.

You can zone in KoF, but I agree it's not as effective a strategy for most characters. I don't know every character that well yet, so I can't say for sure that zoning doesn't work, but the evade button takes a lot of the wind out of the sails of projectiles, though it leaves you open to attack while you're recovering. So it's a trade off I guess.

Another note about Blowback... Its better to use Blowback if you are a noob and learning the game so it can give you the distance you need to formulate a good counter, or just troll with fireballs, depends on who you use.

There is also Emergency Evade (which I use HEAVILY) which especially during a super string/Long recoverytime super, gives you the position advantage.

Also, you guys gotta get out of the habit of determining a fighters difficulty by the amount of BP... I am still pretty good in SF Volt, and I dont play ranked anymore, I only play friendlies at this point, and only against other good people, my BP is 110... Before when I was going hard, I plateued on Volt at aroudn 5560 with Ryu... and there were plenty of fighters out there, and a few on TA who could kick my ass.... Now SF isn't KOF... I know fighters like Hikarumage (Aoi Sora FTW!!!!!) Who are great, and on KOF have the title to match, just like myself.... but in the US, I am the highest Ranked, and anyone who played me knows why. Doesn't mean I dont get my ass kicked occasionally, just means I have to step my game up no matter what Rank I am... There is always someone who can beat me, and I honor and respect those fights...

Also for that Mai Player, I forgot who it was... A Good combo (without HD, but still full Drive Meter) with Mai... Jump P, Stand K, DF+S, on third hit Cancel with B+S, DF+S, cancel on first hit with B+S, B+S.

    If you wanna burn Meter, instead of the second B+S, HCF+S, HCF+S, B+S, HCF+S, B+S, B+S

I guess I'm kinda unclear on Blowbacks. Isn't that just the standard knockdown move you get when you tap S? Or am I doing it wrong? I tried to do what Mooken said, but that's the move that came out so maybe I have it wrong.

    And what's Emergency Evade?

    @vices

Problem with the DF+S move is that you can't chain into something else. Doesn't seem like you can interrupt the move animator either so the combo ends there. Maybe I'm doing it wrong.

Drive cancel it. You can drive cancel into into the air b+sp and then follow that with df + sp again

How do you drive cancel? Cancels are always a strange concept to me
