There's material on YouTube you could look at. At least for KoFXIII, which should help a bit. Why should the game spoonfeed you?

The beauty of the combo system in this game is that you can come up with your own combos and for the most part, the game won't punish you for it like SF4 will. How many people in SF4 actually bothered coming up with combos outside of the basics? Not many people because there was no point. I came up with a few myself, but for the most part, the best combos available were the basic ones in Training, which sucks a lot of the fun out of the game for me.

SF is a more popular game and because of that, there will probably be more players and more of a community, but I'd rather play a better game with overall better players playing it than a game that everyone plays like SF4 where you've got to deal with lamers, idiots, trolls, and spammers because I rarely seem to be able to get any games against people from TA here.

I officially quit Volt when this game came out, I removed Volt from phone and everything. Today I just put it back on, I'm actually missing Fei Long :(

Funny how you can bond with an animated character from a video game...I also have the same feeling for Zero from UMvC3. Wow this sounds weird...

Yeah most of play is training mode and single player on this game, which is surprising since I usually buy games based on the Multiplayer aspect. But man, training, doing combos, no HD combo ideas are pretty much my high point with this game, and I love it. :D

I KNOW WHAT YOU MEAN!!! I been using Zero since Vanilla, and Recently I started incorporating his lighting loops in tourneys, which is REALLY helpful when I dont have my Dante Assist lol. I had to give up Volt though, People rage quit so much, trying to keep BP up and for what? You still arent good? Remember guys like you who were Beast in that game, and really made me step my game up, and most of the good people are gone, theres a couple still floaiting, but KOF is really good, and I get to use my real skills in it instead of dumbed down Ryu. Plus being Number 1 in KOF really helps drive me to play lol

    ZERO PLAYERS UNITE!!!

But cmon man you've been playing Zero since Vanilla and you just started to learn his lightning loops, tsk tsk :p lol just kidding I didn't start to learn them until UMvC3 came out and that was because my Combo ender Buster->Rekkoha got taken away by capcom, and since I didn't play Dante, I really didn't have a choice but to learn it :D

Meh, ragequitters are hilarious to me now, I used to get angry but now I post all their salty messages on the Volt thread and laugh at them on the BN. :D

Really, you think the SF combo system is limited? Sure Fei Long only has 1339 combos, but Cody, has 7891! We found alot of wierd links and interesting things.

I think the kof combo system is punishing too. You can burn through an entire HD meter (accidentally) drive cancelling moves and still do less than 300 damage. Or your combo can whiff because they bounced too high and you have to mash out that SP to drive cancel.

THATS WHY I LIKE IT!!! It has to be on point to do really good combos on KOF, except on iOS... people mash hella hard for no reason...

Also a note, I believe the SF VOLT combo system is limited, I do not believe that of AE... ESPECALLY SFXT... but I do believe KOF is not noob friendly... sure anyone can come in and spam moves, but its not so easy to just jump in with Gief or Honda and be instantly great, not everyone can use Bison and Zangief

My record is 198 win 59 lost, I have been rank master for a while think I will hit king of fighter soon, you are rank 1 in US with master, in Asian server I am actually only rank 5-7. Looks like is true that asia server got a lot more better players.

My win rate now is about 85%, took me a good number of lost for me to figure out this game at the beginning thou, cause I haven't play any of it in Xbox or PS3. So far I haven't seem anyone could consistently beat me, the worst one I got is 6 lose 3 win againest one Korean guy.

Usually is trimming, lots of the combo connections you just can't press the button 0.1 second late or early.

Nice, thats definitely whats up man! I am 142-18 currently... Man I wish I could play you, there are a couple good people on here now, but nothing like playing on the Asian Server... I am thinking of going back to the pirated version just to play with the better people... No one in America has a better Record than I do in this, and the thing is, There are a couple players in there that are better than me, but even they dont have better Win rates lol.

Combos in KOF are HARD to pull of with any real skill and damage, it takes some practice, and if you aren't used to it, you arent gonna get it right away. Just keep working on it, and dont try to chain combos... just look for links where you can

So I noticed that whiffed neutral SP can cancel into almost any special move (on block too).

This reminds me of kara techniques in SF4. Is this usuable? It seems pretty nifty if for some chars since Terry's moves him forward and

I'm not opposed to playing it for fun, but playing against SRK spammers, Sagat FADC Ultra nonsense, SP Assist Gief....it's all just a lot of stupidity.

Yeah but how many of those combos are ACTUALLY USEFUL? I mean, sure, I can make up a ton of combos, but you're only going to have a handful that are worth using and do enough damage. The combo system in SF4 actually PUNISHES you for doing too many hits! What kinda BS is that?? Guile's Jabx2>>Flash Kick does MORE damage than Jabx3>>Flash Kick!? How is that even possible??

And how many of those thousands of combos aren't just permutations of another combo?

Execution is much tougher in KoF. I was burning a lot of meter recklessly, but now that I've gotten used to the game a bit more, that isn't happening much. This game takes practice. There's a rhythm to the combos and setups just like in SF4. Once you get that down, that goes a long way towards being better.
